Anyway, if you mean the older MR Spyder then I think it's pwn, love driving it, and to top it off. It's sexy.

The newer 2000 model I don't like as much. Looks like a hairdresser's car.

Of course I meant the older MR2 Spyder, the new one is called the MR-S right? And I agree with you with the old car being better than the newer one 👍.

Lotus Esprit V8: 90/100

If it's good enough for Bond then it's good enough for you.

Seriously though I like this car so much, I bought all three versions of it (GT, SE and Sport 350). Stealthy looks, amazing engine sound, and although heavier than the usual Lotuses it still handles brilliantly. Shame it doesn't have a racemod, but you have the Esprit GT1 for that :).

Next Car: Vauxhall/Opel Vectra

Vauxhall/Opel Vectra: 58/100

It's a big 4-door sedan that's ponderous at high speeds (Well, high for it's class anyway!) and lacks power. Also understeers like a dump-truck without any tuning. What more can i say? Not a fan of it.

Next car: Ford GT90 (I'm new to this board so if it has already been rated then replace it with something else).

Ford GT 90
50/100 Spins out of control all the time, but manages to keep up with the LM s on the straights.
Cheap too!!!

Next car: ..........
Daihatsu Storia Rally car

Just not my style...

Next Car: Audi S4

Very capable car with loads of traction, acceleration, and a 6-speed transmission. Some may dig its conservative looks, others may find the S4 too gentrified...not sporty enough.

All 4 intercooled turbo upgrades! 👍 :dopey: 16 colors to choose from! Racing body, too. It's possible to take the S4 all the way to the World Cup. You can drive this car for grip, or drifting/sliding. Off-road, or on-road.

I have very few bad things to say about the S4 in GT2, other than its looks. This is one of the best production cars we can buy in the game. In GT3 and GT4, I could find more faults with it since it starts to understeer and slide around more, and doesn't get as much power as it does in GT2.

But in GT2? I rate it very high: 95 out of 100

Next: Honda Beat (any version)

Next: Honda Beat (any version)

From a "fun to drive" point of view, the Beat may be a nippy little car. I once tuned the h3ll out of it (around 100hp if I can remember)? but even with all the setups and so on, I still couldn't extract much potential from it :scared:

With the very small-capacity engine, it still felt quite underpowered, but with a very light weight, it teaches the driver to appreciate the value of keeping a car's momentum through the turns. Take it to a track like Grindelwald with lots of elevation changes and if you let go off the throttle for one second, or if you enter a bend with 5 mph short of the optimum entering speed, wave goodbye to 1-2 seconds on that corner alone (because of the lost momentum on the straight). So it's fun to try it out........once :dopey:

From a "racing" point of view, I'd like not to comment it :yuck:

That's why I give it a 50/100, for being a good training car ,
The next car : BMW 323Ti E36 Compact

Awesome and very to-the-point report on the Beat! :P

Funny thing is, in GT4 I'm noticing not many kei cars are able to make it past 120 bhp, even such keis as the Cappucino. So the Beat might have realistic power upgrades in GT2, but many others don't, but they should. Just a theory.

I'm passing the next car. I never actually drove this one: The next car : BMW 323Ti E36 Compact

Sorry for dig up, I say 58/100. Next: 3000GT LM Race Car. (1999 model)

No apology necessary. This is one of those threads that can get digged without anybody giving us any flak about it.

Mitsubishi 3000GT LM.

Pros:

1. lots of power/fast as hell from the get-go. :)

2. Cheater's paradise. :dopey:

3. Lighter than other 3000GTs. :D

4. Race modified from the get-go. ;)

5. AWD traction! :):D:dopey:;)

Cons:

1. Not a real car in real-life. :(

2. Only won as a prize (I think) :indiff:

3. Geez, do we really need another model of a car that already has like twelve other versions?

4. Still somewhat heavy at over 2,800 pounds, despite race-kit. :boggled:

5. Can't enter a huge amount of HP-limited events.

6. Drives somewhat bearish unless the driver tunes this out, and is skilled at avoiding understeer and entry-corner oversteer at the same time (under braking). :banghead:

But I can't knock it much for its minuses. Plenty racing can be done in this car where a 3000GT non-LM can't go as confidently.

65/100

Tommykaira ZZ-S Coupe: 60/100

Japan's answer to the Lotus Elise, and it is both a success and a failure in my eyes. A success because there is no other Japanese car like it. It's unique (though I consider the styling to be somewhat "girly"), nippy to drive and fun. It's a failure however, because no one buys it (both in-game and in real life). It just lacks the finesse of the Elise that makes it uncompetitive against other cars in it's class. It will also spin in a heartbeat when faced with a banking. Tuning does not help much either. Bottom line, it's a fun car to drive, but don't race it.

Next car: Fiat Coupe

Aww dude, I did plenty of racing in the Tommy ZZ-S! Managed to skool some cars with 300 horsepower or more! 💡 From what I've read, the ZZ-S wasn't a bad seller, but it was low-production. Would agree about girly styling, tho. And it is kinda pricey, but worth it in my opinion.,

Never drove the Mazda RX-7 LM, so I'm passing it on to the next.

I haven't drove the A-Spec LM yet but the other 2 that I have are great. They handle well and are a blast down the straights keeping up with the GT500's. The bought one is faster than the one you win though. But there are too many RX-7's though so i'd give it an 80/100

Well, when I rate these cars I try to see it from an average gamer's perspective. And to the average gamer, it is quite hard to win races with the ZZ-S. I know this because in my early GT2 days, I just cannot keep the ZZ going straight! It has mediocre acceleration, and despite its low weight it doesn't handle that brilliantly either. Of course now I can crush more powerful AIs with this car, but my first impressions of it are disappointing. The ZZIII is a much much better effort from TommyKaira IMO.

Welcome to GTP. Worth 98/100. Next:CLK-DTM Touring Car.

Not to be picky, but can you elaborate a bit more when rating a car? It's very interesting to read different member's opinions about different cars (which is what this thread is all about). Just giving it a rating isn't that meaningful discussion wise. Just another tip, hope you don't get offended :).

And I've rated the CLK Race Car before, so I'll pass this one.

Yes, the acceleration sucks. Power rates less than 300 tops, if I remember. I remember doing the GT Regionals in the Tommy, getting blown away off-the-mark! :scared: But by the end of Lap 1, I'd have caught and passed the leader. I'd say the handling is therefore brilliant...this car is all-handling. I would totally agree it's not a beginner's car, tho. 👍

Next Car: CLK-DTM Touring Car.

Never drove this one, I"m passing it....

^I know it's the same car, that's why I'm passing it. I want to give others a chance to rate it :). Ah well...

Lancer Evo III: 70/100

Great car in GT1, still a great car in GT2, but it's age is beginning to show against the competition. Not as competitive as it used to be, but still a very fast 4WD. Suspension is a bit soft when stock, but a bit of tuning will cure it. Makes a great rally car too. And I love that oversized rear wing and air scoops on the hood.

Next Car: Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg Z

Cyborg ZR (Mitsubishi Cybernetic Organism V2)? 84/100, A compact Mitsu, plus it's RacingModify (TT speak) were same as Lancer Evo 4.

Next: Mazda Miata B-spec

64/100 (overweight, cool bodystyle and driving tough)

How about...
.. Lotus Elise Softtop/Roadster (with GS) or...
.. Honda Del Sol (road-going)

I'm not really sure what you mean by road going but if you mean the non-race-modded version the Del Sol surely is a nice car. I like me some compact coupes. Max power would be fine if it lost some weight. Handling is great though.
👍
