Aston Martin DB7 Coupe?
It's got it all! All the creature comforts one could desire!
Therefore, it's carrying alot of weight. I'm not sure if it's the heaviest car in GT2 or not, but it's certainly one of the heaviest. An [R] body can be bought, but the car still remains heavy afterwards, the extra downforce from the aerodynamic bodyparts not enough to solve this car's recalcitrant behavior....
Fishtails and loses traction at the rear under somewhat mild racing conditions. Understeers heavily as well. dips and wallows through turns. Difficult to tune all this out. It's funny cuz in GT4, the DB7 still understeers, but its rear is much tamer.
Astons are great-looking cars (my opinion) but with GT2's shoddy graphics, the DB7 looks like a giant, painted blob on wheels.
In contrast, the DB6 (which also appears in GT2) looks alot better...as if Polyphony's detailing team spent more time getting it right. đź‘Ť
One of the only things good to note is the supercharged engine + power upgrades. Sounds good if I remember correct. Problem is, the CAR can't handle all this power, even when it's stock! Also, the gearbox is a short-throw unit, which doesn't correlate to real-life at all (real life DB7s can hit a much higher top speed than the game car).
My rating:
5/100
Summary: Just about as awful as a rear-drive car can be for racing.
Next car:
Aston Martin DB6.
