Additional Information: The R34 was the fifth generation Skyline, and the final Skyline GT-R, and was released in 1999 with production ending in 2002. The car was powered by the same RB26 Twin Turbo Inline 6 as the R32 & R33 but with power uprated to 330HP (Although Nissan advertised the car as producing 276HP, as did all Japanese manufacturers). Like the R33, V-Spec models came with the "ATTESA E-TS Pro" AWD system and an Active LSD at the rear, with base models using the standard "ATTESA E-TS" system. A new feature in the R34 was a digital 5.8" LCD display on the dashboard, showing readings of engine and vehicle statistics such as turbo boost pressure, oil & water temperature and others, with the V-Spec also having intake and exhaust gas temperatures. NISMO MFD's could be purchased as an optioned that included a lap timer, G-Force meter and increased boost pressure (2 Bar from 1.2 Bar). The "V-Spec II" was released in 2000 which featured stiffer suspension, larger rear brakes, carbon fibre hood (with NACA duct) and an iridium centre console. In 2002 Nissan released the final R34 GT-R, the V-Spec II Nür (Nürburgring) and was developed at the Nürburgring and 1000 were made and came with larger turbo's (allowing the boost to be safely increased to produce 450HP) and a speedometer reading up to 200MPH. To finish the GT-R's production NISMO (Nissan's in-house tuning company) created the Z-Tune. They were built in 2003 and featured a tuned RB26 2.8L "Z1" producing 500HP, and other enhancements to create the ultimate GT-R. All Z-Tune's were used R34 GT-R's with under 18,000 miles on the clock. The Z-Tune is regarded as the most expensive street legal GT-R ever built, costing as much as $290,000. 12,000 GT-R's were built over the 3 year production period, of them 4,000 were base models, 1,300 V-Spec's, 80 UK V-Spec's, 5,500 V-Spec II's, 1,000 V-Spec II Nur's, 230 M-Spec's and 20 NISMO Z-Tune's. In 2001 Nissan announced they would seperate GT-R from the Skyline's name, with the brand new Nissan GT-R being released in 2007.

The Caldina was never officially imported from Japan but is a common grey import thanks to its capability and practicality. Late in its life there was a "N" edition as a tribute to Toyota's motorsports development guru and the father of the GT-Four - Hiromu Nasume. This featured a Torsen rear LSD, Recaro front seats and trimmings, a different suspension tune and a front upper strut bar, among other things as specified by Nasume.

A GT version of the Griffith, the Chimaera out sold it by 3 to 1. It appealed to those drivers who wanted an out and out sports car but with the convenience of ample luggage room. By 2003, when production finally finished, over 6000 had left TVR's Blackpool production line, making it TVR's biggest success story.
The Chimaera had been produced with a choice of 5 engines ranging from a 4ltr right through to the monster 5ltr. It also had 3 face lifts. The Chimaera was produced in a vast combination of colours and trim levels, meaning that there's a car to satisfy everyone's taste and pocket.
The name of the car comes, just like the TVR Cerbera, from the Greek mythology. Chimera was a creature with parts from multiple animals, similar to TVR's vehicle which used an engine based on the Rover V8. Even if it was launched in 1992, Chimaera had an impressive line-up of optional features, including the power assisted steering, the air conditioning, the full leather interior, the gold colored badges and the chrome steering wheel.
In 1993 the Chimaera became TVR's biggest selling car and remained in that position untill 1998. There were about 6000 produced, and there are more Chimaeras on the road than the total TVR's produced over the preceding 25 years.

Additional Information: After GM bought Lotus in 1986, the Corvette division approached Lotus to produce the world's fastest production sports car, based on the C4 Corvette. With GM, Lotus designed a new engine to fit in place of the L98 V8 already used in the C4, and the result of that was the LT5, an aluminum-block V-8 with the same bore centers as the L98, but with four overhead camshafts and 32 valves. In addition to the engine, Lotus helped design the ZR-1's upgraded braking and steering systems, and it helped the ZR-1 become more than just a modern-day muscle car with a big engine and no real capability on the track. It went on sale in 1990, and it was only available as a coupe. The ZR-1 went through some minor updates until production ceased in 1995. A total of 6,939 ZR-1s were manufactured over the six-year period. Although the ZR-1 was extremely quick for its time (0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds, and onto 180+ mph), the huge performance of the LT5 engine was matched by its robustness. As evidence of this, a stock ZR-1 set seven international world records at a test track in Fort Stockton, Texas on March 1, 1990, which was verified by the FIA. These records have since been broken by the Volkswagen W12.​

Additional Information: The Ostentienne Opera Sedan was accessible only from its one rear door and sported solid steel side rails for crash protection. Ostentatious doesn't begin to describe options like gold-inlaid panels, refrigerators, sealed beam taillights, and Ming-style oriental rugs. It also had nitrogen filling those tyres surrounding those 20" wheels. Also, the engine came from a International Harvester, as was the chassis. At a starting price of $19,600 in 1967 and the styling, it's no wonder this car is probably one you never heard of.
