5 minutes. Literally. There's outdoor ranges all over the place. Most are paid for clubs but I have a free one on state lands just up the road from me.
If I wanted to, I can walk across my street and shoot in the fields there. I've done that plenty of times.

On somewhat related note: I just saw on the news that Daniel Defense got rejected by the NFL to buy an Super Bowl ad. Apparently, it's against NFL policy to advertise firearm related stuff & pushing the agenda is a win/win for Daniel Defense. Their slick move just bought 100% free national ad via news sources. *note the SI calling Daniel Defense home defense weapon an "assault rifle".

The Superbowl has all kinds of stuff that should be more taboo than home defense. Didn't Prince make a guitar look like a massive boner at one half time show?
I might be a bit more understanding if the commercial had shown the kinds of tacticool-pew-pew-sector-clear stuff we normally get from firearms ads or indeed actually shown a weapon. But yes, let's censor the mere concept of defending your family and home from invaders so we can watch a close-up of a fat dude make out with a model for the children.
Edit: On another note, I've never been too keen on buying stuff from Daniel Defense. Their stuff is always a bit more expensive than I would expect and I've always had the suspicion this was because of how much they spend on marketing.

Anyway, loaded my new hard cast bullets from my 500 grain Lee mold. They look awesome. Loaded them to around 460 meters a second, thats ~1500 fps I believe. In terms of energy its on par with a 12 gauge magnum slug.
500 grain lee bullet next to a 140 grain .308 FB bullet.
Putting together those big old thumper is a lot of fun. I'm not a hunter but I sure would love to hunt Buffalo with those rounds. One day maybe....

In way, I can see why, due to them not being responsible for what you do on a certain medication but it wasn't a big deal until now. Nothing's changed.
