Classic... Nice. đź‘Ť I'd imagine 30-inch barrel & full choke would reach tad farther than my Tactical 870!

Do salt really work on flies?

It depends on the velocity, anything can be dangerous if its just moving fast enough. Hell, velocity is the difference between catching a thrown plush teddy or getting ripped to shreds by one.

Well, when you put it that way.

If you use different salt grain sizes, is it like using birdshot and 00 buckshot? I want some hardened salt slugs for my 12 gauge

The custom 12 gauge brass crimp-neck die a friend of me built me from my instructions works really well:

Tell me what he thinks of it. My only concern right now is that there might not be enough pressure to fully expand the neck and thus some gas escapes into the chamber making the powder burn suboptimal.
On the other hand the brass is really thin, much thinner than normal rifle brass. I guess I have to make some tests with various loads (and blackpowder to simulate an elephant rifle round, 100 grains of FFG should be sufficient :dopey:)
The big game slug in the pic is just a placeholder until I get my 500 & 600 grain Lyman foster slugs.

The ''rifling'' on the slug does a lot of good things, it minimizes the contact surface which helps to reduce lead fouling in the barrel, it makes the slug spin through air friction which helps accuracy and thanks to the rifling it can be shot through tight chokes.

And lead is pretty soft compared to the barrel steel, it would not be possible to hurt the surface of the barrel with an oddly shaped lead projectile. The only thing that would happen is excessive lead fouling - and maybe pressure spikes at the forcing cone (which is not so good)

I think I borrowed my brother's game once or something(never got past the initial stage), so I do recognize the theme here. Very cool. :lol:đź‘Ť

Very neat! đź‘Ť

Very apt too since I'm watching my roommate play Half Life 2 right now.

So, guys... FNS-9 vs. M&P9? I'll probably wind up going with the SW because of the apex FSS kit.

Finally getting around to it Omnis? I don't know anything about either guns, except they look nice(just google it).
I still want a Mini-14 :/
Why not just get a AR? So many choice on both the rifle itself, also parts & accessories. Besides, I used to watch A-Team as a kid, and those rifles are only good for putting holes in trees & cars, never the actual target.

I don't have any experience with the FNS, but I have shot my friend's M&P9 with the Apex kit several times and I have a Shield myself. The S&W are nice guns.

Well I already have an AR lol. I want a Mini-14 just because they look awesome and are good for plinking haha.

Totally not legal in NY though, at least as far as I know.
