No release date is known but I may just have a new conceal carry weapon... We'll see when it releases I suppose.

Looks like it is handful millimeter more compact in all dimensions, and tiny bit lighter compared to Glock 26. For four more rounds of capacity, I'd personally still take Gen 3 baby Glock(says a guy who couldn't even legally carry lol).

I am interested to see how much the G43 will sell at. I think their new 380 pistol was cheaper? It'd be sweet if this sold cheaper than the G26....... :P

Okay so dimensions.

The 43 is...

An inch shorter in length.
3/4 of an inch shorter in height.
.15 inches thinner.

Here's a 26 vs a 19. The 26 is pretty close to the 43 in terms of dimensions.

The only disappointing thing is that it took a whole decade! Should be a fun Shield competitor. Honestly I might just take the 19. It can do everything.

19 is so awesome. Probably my favorite Glock. Maybe my favorite 9mm(outside HK stuff lol).

I want to see the single stack Glock Magazine!
I figured it's from Swiss, but is the manufactured also called Swiss? :dunce:
You are looking for Schmidt-Rubin. And I would not mind picking up a K31.
Nope, those are the designers. The exact manufacturer would be the Oerlikon Arms Plant, south of Zürich.

Thats how the Oerlikon industrial park looked like in 1906. Pretty cute.

The plant still exists and as far as I know they produce heavy weaponry now, like anti aircraft cannons etc.

I thought it'd be slimmer(G26 width: 30mm vs 26mm).

The M&P Shield is about 24mm wide; slightly narrower than the G43, but that <2mm difference shouldn't be huge. The G43 is going to be significantly shorter though.

Looks like "single", but staggered.

Ah, it's a weird stagger, so that's why it's slightly fatter.

Still no fatty though.

It'd be neat to see them make a .22 pistol, but it probably wouldn't be any more reliable than the SR22, or P22(due to the weak charge in .22s). I went to lunch with my old coworker today who owned the Ruger Mark whatever pistol with bull barrel, and he said he sold it for I think for around $640? I always wondered if those Mark pistols fired more reliably, because their action looked smaller/lighter. Anywho, neat pistols.

@Michael88 - Max what with what magazine is 2.90"?

P.S. OK, I lied about the Oweathaeirol rifle company in Switzerland. Never had heard of them.

Oh, that pic is just someones demonstration of the max cartridge length the magazine allows. Often bullet seating length is limited by the mag and not by the chamber. For max. long range performance you want to be able to seat the bullet way out of the case resulting in a very long cartridge. For example, standard length of a .308 is about ~68-69 millimeters, if there is enough free bore and the magazine is long enough you can load them - depending on the bullet ogive- up to 74 millimeters. Since the bullet is seated so far out you end up with extra case space which you can use for a bigger powder charge which will result in significantly better long range ballistics.

There are some special rifles with extra long .308 chambers and absurdly long barrels (31'' +), they still use the .308 cases and 7.62 bullets but since it is so long its called the .308 Palma if I'm not mistaken. The long barrel and long seating length gives you more muzzle velocity but technically its still considered a .308. Nice cheat workaround for matches which only allow .308, it will have an edge over all the other ''Standard'' .308's. :sly:

Competitive shooting is like racing in a lot of ways.

Damn...... I'm not talking about the cheating, but no wonder you like reloading, with all the modification tricks available. I had no idea people did that with .308 cartridges.

If I pick up another .22 pistol, then it will likely be a Ruger Mark II/III or a Volquartsen.

What's a Volquartsen?

Volquartsen is a manufacturer. As far as I can tell, they take Ruger products, modify the crap out of them, and end up with an exceptional product. All I really know about them is that they made really good stuff and have an excellent reputation.

........ How much more?

A custom Mk III pistol is starting around probably $1,200 and why I am likely never to pick one up.
I google image searched it, my jaw dropped & I can't say I'm surprised. :(

I am starting to get interested in Mark pistols too though. 👍

Custom work is expensive and the reason I will likely never own a Wilson 1911. I am sure they do a fantastic job, but I likely will never be able to justify the price they charge for their outstanding work.

I have been really happy with my 10/22 Takedown so far. It has functioned flawlessly through the few rounds I have put through it.

Wilson Combat, if it's really nice as they say, and maybe if I run into bunch of money in the future...... maybe(I can sense the Austrian rifleman shaking his head lol).

Volquartsen makes awesome stuff, expensive though. They've developed a semi-auto rifle for the new 17 WSM cartridge (.17 25grain @ 3000 fps rimfire).

(I can sense the Austrian rifleman shaking his head lol).
Even though I'm not a big fan of pistols I can totally understand the appeal they have to some people . 👍 Years ago I shot handguns borrowed from friends at the range and I had fun with a Glock G34, 45. Glock, Makarov, TT Tokarev, Ruger .454 Casull, H&K .40 and a 4'' S&W 500.

I just think the pistol is more of a backup, shooting stuff from far away and dumping several thousands ft lbs of energy into them is my domain. (Though I have to admit I'm secretly in love with the Tokarev 7.62x25. Don't tell anyone!)

Speaking of rifles, today I broke my accuracy record at 110yds with my handloads, 5 shots center to center spread 6.5 millimeters or 0.265'' :dopey:
Funnily I expected this load to be the least accurate one.

So I've been waiting on the backorder of my Magpul AR magazines for good while now. I finally get a notice from botach.com today, but it reads "credit card declined". I call & tell them that it was actually a debit card, and that they had already charged it in February. They apologized, said to disregard message. I checked the order status online just now and it says...... "awaiting payment". I may never see these magazines. :(

P.S. I guess I should check my checking account, too. Sounds like somebody could have cleaned out the funds(I dobut it). Edit: As expected, no problems.
Man, so many toilet pros here! :scared:
Must be poor diet. :sly:
