So I've been waiting on the backorder of my Magpul AR magazines for good while now. I finally get a notice from botach.com today, but it reads "credit card declined". I call & tell them that it was actually a debit card, and that they had already charged it in February. They apologized, said to disregard message. I checked the order status online just now and it says...... "awaiting payment". I may never see these magazines. :(

P.S. I guess I should check my checking account, too. Sounds like somebody could have cleaned out the funds(I dobut it).

Must be poor diet. :sly:

I have about 15 30 round PMags if you want a couple. Black in color. Let me know. I'll send them to you for free.

Thank you so much dude, but mine's a Bushmaster .308 & Magpul came out with the 25-rounder recently, so I ordered a couple to see how they work for me. 👍

Ah that sucks. I used to get them for free so have a little stockpile.

Maybe you can make a fortune on the next gun/magazine/ammo shortage. For while there, things got out of control. I still don't understand how EVERYTHING's back in stock outside every kind of .22LR ammunition they make.

I live in Ca so the only way I'll ever make money is to sell them in a different state. I have lots of 30 round USGI mags too but I got those when I was in the military. I'm legally allowed to possess them but I can't sell to anyone in the state or let borrow etc. I'd have to sell them all out of state.

I used to have that 33-round Glock 9mm magazine? I didn't have the Glock anymore, so I sold the magazine for few bucks during the chaos. It was pretty easy to do online on gunbroker.com, and I think it ended up in Oklahoma or somewhere like that.

I just remembered that I've sold two HK magazines on eBay too, but only because it was ten round mags. It probably have to do with Californian law or something, but they allow sale of magazine up to 10-round capacity. :ouch: It was funny to see bunch of people selling mags which were obviously high capacity, but they were listing them as "10-round" magazines.

@a6m5 This scope is so powerful that it even found a Remington Bucket O Bullets in the closet.
You suck! Hand that thing over!

👍

So what is this about heavy barrel?(thanks for making me google that! lol) Are they really frowned upon in some area, but why?

Anywho, sweet scope, dude. I can't wait to see it on your new mount. Congrats. 👍

P.S. I FINALLY received the tracking info for my Magpul .308 magazines. So excited.

So I think I'm going to start looking for a FNS9C.

Was happy to see this video. This gun pretty much satisfies all of my requirements.

Still want that PPQ though. Will have to see if one is in the area.

Fam just added a Taurus glock-copy in .45 cal. Now I need my own pistol so the whole family can go to the range.

Thats a very nice rifle David and a nice scope choice, I love those plain-looking scoped ARs, so much better than those busy looking abominations with 6lbs of accessories hanging on them-. 👍

Speaking of looks, I just gave my 452 two linseed tarnish treatments, the stock is now much nicer than how it came from the factory. Smooooth and shiny. :sly:

Damn. He can shoot those handguns, can't he? FNS 9 C sure looks good, @Omnis

I have pretty much stopped watching Hickok45's videos for at least the second time. The reason? He gets to have way too much fun and it makes me somewhat jealous. Inevitability, I will be pulled back in.

No, I meant heavy barrels are still legal in MD as opposed to AR-15s with the regular government profile barrel or other barrels. I'm sure they are legal pretty much everywhere else in the country that doesn't have a ban on AR's.
I didn't realize that there were barrel restriction of certain types, or in certain areas, at least based on profile.

Michael don't like tacticool? Shocker. j/k :D I agree on the Colt. Classy smooth!

Elegant. Beautiful.
somewhat jealous.
Just "somewhat"? I'm pretty sure everybody in here wishes Hickok compound was their backyard.

I was trying to leave myself some room for some dignity.
It's no secret. As far as I'm concerned, it's everyone's favorite backyard shooting range(I don't think it's actually a backyard, or is it?). :D

To be honest, I'd rather have access to a shooting range like nutnfancy has. Which is not really a shooting range in the first place, and thats what makes that place so attractive to me. Gear up, hike to the location and do some practical shooting in varying and sometimes less than ideal conditions. Heck, I'd do a combination of shooting and camping for a whole weekend. :dopey:

That's certainly appealing, too. Especially with the range you have.

When I used to walk during lunch break, I'd see this building across the freeway with bunch of windows.

For those block or two where I get the view of the building, probably 300~400 meters away, I'd wish for some kind of apocalypse, and I could spend the afternoon turning the place into my private shooting range. I'd shoot out the windows, one by one...... I know, I'm weird.

I've been assigned to range officer duties tomorrow (semi-voluntarily ), thats means having to watch 20-30 people having fun shooting targets and being responsible for the dangerous nubs who don't know anything about gun safety.
As if that wasn't enough I always have to scream my lungs out because the elderly riflemen with only a fragment of their hearing sense left wouldn't hear a 50 kiloton nuke exploding next to their eardrums.

Oh, and I have to wear a very unfashionable orange vest. I hate it, orange clashes with my eye color.

@Michael88 Any perks at all?
I wouldn't really put it that way. The restriction is not on barrel type... "assault rifles" in general are banned. I'd say that it's an exception based on the barrel (for no logical reason)... but it might also be a features thing. This setup has no cutout for a grenade launcher attachment (cause those are used in so many crimes...), no bayonet lug (cause those are used in so many crimes...), and no threading on the end of the barrel so you can attach a muzzle device. I'm actually not sure if those features, along with non-collapsible stock matter or not in MD so long as it's a "heavy barrel." It might be that adding some of those features, heavy barrel or not would make it a banned weapon again, but I can't remember how the law is worded.

It's also funny to note that you can still build/buy an AR-15 pistol here (has to be under a certain total length, no stock on the buffer tube, no vertical foregrips). The really funny thing is that you are exempt from the handgun licensing requirement that went into effect in 2013 for buying regular pistols.
Ah, I get it now. Yeah, sounds like they are having hard time keeping their b.s. straight.

None, its simply expected from the trusted members of the range to do that once in a while. Since most members are quite old the younger long-time members - which aren't many- have to play range officer with an ever increasing frequency.
And this sucks since I have to test loads, prepare for a competition etc. And it especially sucks if you have to do your duty on a Saturday starting at 7 in the morning. :ill:

Wow, that's not right. But it doesn't sound like you have a way around it either. How much do range over there cost to shoot anyway? Here, some require membership, some do not. Some force you to shoot the ammo they sell you, some couldn't care less. One I go to, it's roughly $17 for the day membership(basically same as having no membership), and you shoot your own ammo. You can leave & comeback in at will, though you may lose your spot if it's busy.

Man, I've been a member since forever so I don't even remember what they charge guests, I think its 7 or 8 bucks per hour, half for muzzle loader shooters, a membership costs 75 bucks / year. Sounds cheap until you realize the range is only open Friday and Saturday for 6 hours. Guests usually bring their own guns and ammo, only once I saw the ranges guns being shot by visitors.

But the range is in the middle of nowhere, a place what an American would only describe as total Redneck territory, its an hours drive through nothing but corn fields and woods. Fun fact, the range is in a town where -according to history books- Europe's last official witch burning happened. There is a big monument on the market square and the town still looks like time stopped in the 1700's.
Like I said, total redneck territory.

Sturdy, high quality and low to the bore - sexy. Is it too low for flip caps though? (ocular + BUIS)

Oh, and one thing I just noticed, no flash hider?

Funnily here in Austria flash hiders are banned on semi automatic rifles too, but we simply use muzzle brakes instead. Keeps the cool look and it does lessen recoil - which is not that important on a 223 though.

It look so integrated & sleek with this scope/mount/bus. Very nice setup, @David 👍

It's so interesting to hear about the range situation in other countries. 👍 An hour drive sound like a lot, but I just remembered that I probably drive for close to 40 minutes to the range I use & I live in the States.
