Thinking about getting one of these for my K98:

Never been into the whole sporterizing thing, but I'd have to do literally nothing to the barrel since it's free floating +1
I can add a bipod to it +1
I can adjust cheek height for when I mount a scope + 1
I can add my Timney Trigger for it no problems + 1

Comes with a 10 and 5 round magazine as well, so more than plenty. That image is a 20 round mag that they don't even make.

Looks to be about $159 on one or two sites so far, by they have a dealer that does it for $209. I'm sure there's elsewhere that has them. I'll buy it at $139, the trigger for $60, and I just need a scope mount, which will have to be taken to a smith as I don't want the rangefinder to be the mount and me have to go out and buy a LER scope...

All-in-all I see myself having a happy holiday.

Went to the range Saturday with a buddy of mine and saw something that really annoyed me. Family come up to the range with NO EARPLUGS at all. I was using my friends savage axis (.308) to spot for him sighting in his AR15 at -/+ 50 yds

My ears are pretty damaged from Military service and being a shooter most of my life with limited to no ear pro. I've had a lot of ear surgeries. Last one I was 22 and had a hole in my eardrum that required a skin graft to patch. Wear ear protection, kids.

I just won an auction for an antique Swedish Husqvarna double barrel break action hammer shotgun in 12 gauge, which was made somewhere between 1877 and 1899. It has real side locks, no rust, action is tight, the wood a little scratched but only surface stuff which can easily be restored with fine steel wool and linseed oil.

Now guess my winning bid?

136 bucks! :D

Not a picture of my gun, but this is how it looks. Note the little lever on the forend stock. This is the lever used to break open the action. Modern guns have the lever on top of the action so it can manipulated with the thumb. The lever is not under spring tension so its a very simple, robust action. I love antique firearms so much, its a nice early Christmas present.

The simpler, the better amirite?

Has anyone ever been around a Kolibri 2.7mm?
Doubt I'll ever see one in person, those things are ludicrously rare and valuable. And I'm an Austrian, the place where those super small pocket pistols were designed & manufactured.

Hit up a range on the other side of town today. All steel targets on the pistol range.

Gravel road out to the range.

Closed slide on the SiG is making me cringe.

What I've been taught is you lock back the slide (or chamber) on all guns and put them down on the side opposite the ejection port so other users can see that the gun is empty.

Safe to say I won't be needing any ammo for my SKS for a while... :D

Keep them in stock! With Clinton as the next President(more than likely), next ammo shortage could be just around the corner. People panic.
I've been wanting a semi automatic .22 rifle for a little while now, anybody have any recommendations?
My first firearm was a Remington 597, defective magazine scarred me for life. While my rifle's had zero issue since newer design magazines, all my friends swears by 10/22. I wish I had a 10/22 instead. @Brett 's rifle's really sweet.

:)👍 Are you still in Texas?

M&P. Yeah, range I go to, they check our handguns for that.
Everyone should have a 10/22.
:(

@a6m5 Actually part of the reason why I bought that was because of the election and the uncertainty of what'll happen. Thinking about stocking up on other ammo as well.

Plus it's cheaper to buy bulk anyway and I just got some spare cash selling a car so why not? :P

Ruger 10/22. Put some Federal in it with 25 round banana clips and it's an evil little toy.

I do like my 10/22 and would recommend one. I am considering changing to Magpul's recently released stock. The 25 round magazines are awesome to shoot with. I hate loading them though. If I do not watch what I am doing, then the feed lips can tear up my thumbs. Owning a pistol and rifle Maglula has ruined me for things that do not have something like that available.

Shooting steel is the best. 👍

I'll have to show your a masterpiece then. It's a crankwinding little device that slots one round in at a time in the clips. Takes about 5 seconds to reload 25 (when it doesn't mess up).

this is it. Works wonderfully if you like to go plinking.

Yes I am. Don't have any plans to leave.
No waiting period on handguns.
And, that's correct. You should feel sad about not having a 10/22.
My rifle's shooting good now though. Can't justify $200 to replace something that doesn't need replacing right now... although I did spend $100 Friday to replace the pocket knife that didn't need replacing. :P
