Yeah, I feel you. I like that color. I just figured if I'm going to shoot 22 I might as well have a wacky gun for it. Can't do much else to a SR22.

More firearms shenanigans...

Picked up a never used Glock 19 stripped slide w/barrel and recoil spring. $175 shipped.
The person I got it from bought it new then put ZEV slide and barrel on the frame.

Going to send it to Glock with warranty form requesting Glock steel sights($20+tax).

While putting new steel sights on the slide they will fill it's guts with brand new Glock oem slide internal parts for FREE! (I've done this with several Glocks, send in stripped slide, and it comes back with new free parts in it.)The heck with paying nealry $100 for an upper parts kit when it free from Glock!

Going to buy a brand new glock19 lower in the used market for under $100. Lots of these out there because alot of folk sell off the upper on eBay and elsewhere to people building on 80% lowers.
People are buying them at $400+ it's ridiculous.
Don't ever sell a full gen3 glock gun, part it out!

So for a total of less than $325 I get a brand new gen3 G19. Lol

Finally shot the p365 after renting it. I only brought my same bag but I put my 509 frame in it just in case they got smart with me. Turns out if you have a bag they'll believe you haha. They made me buy a box of ammo of which I shot 10 rounds and then bumped the rest off the ledge which fell through the brass grate into the range trash trough. What a waste of overpriced fiocchi lol.

Anyway, I put 160 rounds through it. The gun often had problems going into battery and it was dirty as HELL. Dry and crusty-looking. That said, the spring was unbelievably light and it was so comfortable and easy to shoot. The girl at the counter told me that it was their updated 365, but I'm not sure if it really is. They said that the gun was having a lot of problems so it was pulled from the rental lineup, but was eventually cleared by their gunsmith. Not sure what that means. I had to tap the slide into battery with both crimped and uncrimped ammo, so I think it's probably due to the gun being dirty. Spring force alone won't push the rounds in like on my ridiculously heavy 509. It's a short travel to pull the slide all the way back, but you can't short stroke it without asking for trouble. Since I'm a lefty I didn't often test whether you can just hit the slide release, but it had problems on the few times that I did try.

The only thing I really hate is the trigger. It's a nice overall trigger but it has 2 clicks that drove me insane. There's a tactile click after the take-up, and then there's another click just before it breaks. They make you flinch... it's really annoying. It's so hard to feel the wall and break off the shot because you have these 2 clicks that you can hear and feel on either side of the wall. I'm not sure that I could get used to that. However, if you're just close quarters rapid firing, it's not a big deal. Speaking of, the gun is so easy to shoot fast. I can handle it better than my 509 shooting at a 200bpm cadence. I put 10 shots on like a footlong group on center mass at 5 yards easy. I think it's because of the awesome undercut. The sig frames are really, really comfortable and the undercut feels great. I think with that 12 round magazine you'd have one of the most comfortable pistols on the market, even as a subcompact.

And speaking of mags, they are incredibly easy to load. Maybe it's just because it's been shot so many times though.

I have a hard time believing that the 365 you shot was the updated version. The issues you describe is what the first batch did. If was the updated version, that garbage also. Even a bit dirty it should function. But you did say it was REALLY dirty, so there is that. If so, that range should be cleaning more often. Complain about it!

I will never carry a clean gun. I will clean it just before going to the range. Shoot a couple-few hundred rounds then holster it. If you carry a clean gun, how are you to know it will fire? Maybe you messed up reassembling it, maybe a spring shot off to nowhere and you didn't know it. Nope I want a gun that has been fired since the last cleaning to be in my holster. A dirty gun should still function, I'm not talking 4000 rounds dirty, but 1-500 dirty.

The new ones are supposed to have Sig XRAY sights. That's why I don't think it was new. Maybe they made the revisions have a little stronger of a spring. I've honestly never felt a recoil spring that light lol.

Also, I'm kind of scared to go to the range with my rifle. POF put a hugeass brake on it. I don't want to be that guy. I was getting blasted by a couple shooting a braked rifle on the next stall over. It was blowing my empty ammo boxes away lol. I asked if they could step back so the stall walls could shield some of the blast. That's cool to do, right? Hope they didn't think I was a jerk. Still, dunno why they are firing rifle in the pistol lanes.

Most likely it was a first run 365 then.

As far as shooting lane etiquette, I see nothing wrong with politely asking someone to sheild thier muzzle blast.

I have ask those next to me, I have been asked to do so aswell. No big deal, if they think it is then they are the jerks.

Personally, I think its not right to complain abut muzzle blast on the shooting range, I mean you cannot go to a shooting range and complain about the noise of firing guns. Sure, a brake makes a gun extra loud, and it makes sense to warn people next to you about it, but muzzle blast is part of the game.

I remember there was a guy next to me with his 12'' AR with a huge brake, it was freaking LOUD and made football sized fireballs, but I simply doubled up my hearing protection and kept shooting. In fact, it was good training for keeping focused and accurate despite a noisy, distracting environment.
I remember that my accuracy was not impaired by the muzzle blast next to me.

Yeah but the stalls are tight, so their muzzle is like 3 feet from my face. I had a wall stall though, so all that blast was blowing my stuff away. If we were in the middle it would dissipate and probably not be a problem. Anyway, there's a rifle section specifically for this reason. I always smile and try to be super nice to everyone I speak to, especially when they're handling a gun lol.

I have noticed people at the range are the friendliest & the most well mannered. I always try to be respectful regardless of where I'm at(does not extend to my buddies you understand lol), but yeah, if handgun range was separate from rifles, I'd have said something to the guy. IMO, if rifle range was full, tough. You don't go to rimfire range or handgun range, you wait for your turn at the rifle range.

As for the muzzle break, I just don't know. Michael makes a good point though.

I'm pretty sure my gun is bugged now, I shot it again just to make sure its not me, I even let other people I know who are good riflemen shoot it - and the results are all really bad, even though I tried 3 different ammunition brands and bullet weights.

This is an example of the rifles ''accuracy'', or lack of. I shot them with a 2-7x33 Redfield scope. The other groups were similarly erratic and huge. :(
And I did not even touch the scope, it shot those ''patterns'' with the same hold and adjustment.

And just to show people I know how to shoot, here is typical group I get with a proper shooting rifle with a scope.

I've had enough of this rifle, I want my money back! First it malfunctions every single shot and now it does not hit the broadside of a barn.

Yeah, night & day compared to your usual groups. Again, I'd be like "eh, it could be worse :P" if they were mine, but it's not consistent at all with what we are used to seeing from you.

Mikey, are you able to put a Smos or white oak barrel on it? That sucks man. I think there may be export restrictions. Maybe the pump action interferes with the barrel harmonics? Harmonic accuracy bro

Actually, it should be more accurate than any of the eeevul semi AR's since nothing moves but the striker when the shot is fired. The barrel entirely free floated since the pump action is integrated in the front hand guard. No gas tube, no nothing touching the barrel. The barrel is made by Troy and its a standard AR barrel that has not been cut for a gas block.

In fact, Nut'n Fancy gave the gun a run and he was very happy with it, claiming to get half MOA accuracy out of it, same as my friends who have one too and are super happy with it.

Warranty claim it. Or demand money back. Either way this isn't right.

That sucks man. I did the ccw course today. They made us shoot a SW mp22, ten rounds. I was just god awful. I could barely see the sights though and I was pushing shots way to the right. What a crappie gun, right? Lol

Later I went back and put my first box of 22 through the ruger. That's a fun gun, but the sights are wacky. Point of aim is above the sights, so you have to aim under them, or so I thought. Then I started pulling down on the trigger rather than straight back, and it helped a lot. Talk about a gun that's sensitive to trigger pull...

I kneeled down and put my arms and the gun against the bench and made a huge hole of holes though. I was impressed with that. Still need to improve as a shooter, but I'm getting there..

Hmm that's interesting, around here most places you are not allowed to use .22 for a conceal carry class. Well no rimfire anyway, center-fire only.

It's geared towards super beginners, I guess. That said, I probably shot the worst of the group. There were 3 other guys. Not a big class today.

I have a coworker who used to be into guns, didn't have any guns anymore, really missed them, so naturally, I have continually harassed him into buying guns.....

A year or two ago, he finally get a shotgun. I think it was Mossberg 590. I continue to bug him to buy a handgun, or rifle. He's really been wanting a handgun, he finally buys Ruger 9mm on his lunchbreak, but he comes back without the gun. This was last Thursday. Something to do with flag raised on the background check.

I ask him today, did you get your gun yet? He hasn't passed the background check yet. It turns out that they are looking into some details of his juvie record. The State think they failed to look into it when he bought the shotgun.:lol: If he fails the background check, I'm hoping they take away his shotgun too, so he wouldn't be able to shoot me.

I swear this is my last gun purchase, ok?

This is what happens when r/Gundeals comes back online...
Basically a Stoeger race gun (i.e., a $1200 Benelli) for $570 after putting in the listed Name Your Price + "SHIP30" for free shipping + your local FFL fee.

Another month of noodle soup, but at least I can 3-gun now!

I don't like the LCP or LC9 series at all. My grandpa has the LC9s pro. It's such a goofy shooting gun. After shooting that p365, I would say to cast aside all the other subcompact options. In fact, sig should just make that gun only, with a longslide version and a 20-round mag.

Have any of you shot the LCP II? It's supposed to be a lot nicer to shoot, but it's got a softer spring and some people have said that they have jamming issues because of it.

My wife has a LC9s in purple, Mother has has a LCP. We all prefer our Glocks over the Ruger. Not a fan of the super squishy trigger on the Ruger.

I do like the looks of the FDE LCP pictures there!

Definitely interested in the 365 , once issues are proven to be taken care of. So far the post "soft recall" guns look good. End of summer I'll be getting one if they are still good.

So I brought the rifle back to my dealer, he tried it himself and he confirmed that it cannot hit the broadside of a barn. He talked to the manufacturer and they said its the ammo I am using, it is loaded very inconsistently resulting in the bad accuracy. Funny that I grabbed ammo from the exact two manufacturers that are known to not work in this rifle.:odd:

Anyway, the dealer said he'll try ammo from a different brand and report back.

Sounds all very weird if you ask me, firstly its quite the coincidence and secondly the ammo would need to be pretty dang abysmal to shoot like that. :boggled:

I think I'm becoming crazy, a friend of mine is selling a CZ 550 .458 Winchester Magnum elephant rifle for a grand and I am really interested in it.

I do not hunt, it has ZERO value for me as a target shooter and it recoils enough to knock me silly, but € 1000 (€ and USD are basically identical in worth right now) is about half of the MSRP (Nobody buys it because its a special purpose rifle really), it has only 5 rounds down the pipe and I just got 550 bucks for selling a rifle. Hey, 550, thats a sign, right?

I am trying to find an excuse to get this rifle even though I have no idea what for. The upside is, I do reload so the insane ammunition cost of .458 WinMag is not really an issue for me.

Talk me out of it!

Oh hey, now I remember watching a certain video, maybe this has something to do with it: 💡

I need to pick up a semi-auto shotgun.

What a beauty..... 10+1. :embarrassed:

I came close to ordering a gun online today, but decided against it. I'd want a 9:

Love the cerakote though. I did buy couple of mags on eBay for SR22. Also was going to buy threaded barrel for it, but it's available only for SR22 with higher serial number than the one I have. Thanks a lot, Ruger. :grumpy:

A few people have let me shoot their Ruger LCP/LC9. I strongly disliked them. The Glock 42/43 is the only subcompact I have shot so far that I have not strongly disliked/hated.

Damn I'm so mad right now lol. They called me to tell me they're canceling the order because they sold out of all their guns and their website didn't accurately reflect their stock.

This is a very common problem nowadays. Every time I order something - not just guns and related stuff- I first make a call and ask them about their stock, I no longer care about what they show in stock on their websites because half of the times their sites are completely outdated. This has saved me a world of trouble.

I didn't think they'd be fun, but that bad huh? Subcompact's tricky.

Bummer. Frustrating.
