Recommend an MR? (no LAMBOS or FERRARIS)

Im looking for a car that with full tuning can match the power of an Enzo or Murcielagio SV but with more stability at high speeds and better handling overall.

Obviously i can tweak suspension, transmission etc... but i want the best stock car available before i begin so i can not just put up a challenge but outperform them on both straight and windy circuits.

The more obscure the better. Im not a Ferrari fan (dont hate lol), and i hate Lambos for some reason - they look outofthisworld cool but suck to drive imo.

So any recommendations? A high end MR sports car with lots of power but better than average control for an average MR.

Thanks

None of the new lambo's are MR so that might be one of the issues you're having with the handling. But assuming you just want a supercar I'd say the new Mclaren or the Zonda.

Edit: Sorry if I'm wrong about why you don't like lambos :)

They are not "MR" by text book definition, however, they are mid-ship and all-wheel drive with a rear-wheel drive bias (as far as I know).

Anyways, @OP - Get a Acura NSX '91. RM it (I don't recall how much), fully upgrade it, put some Racing Soft tires on it, then call it a day. Mind you, I'm extremely biased towards this suggestion. It's my favourite car.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, fully modded it has 416PS and weighs 1040kg (?). I don't know if you read metric? Regardless, this basically means its a beast.

Zonda R is a good choice but damn does it chew tyres in enduros (not a issue with this race).

I was just trying to say that since they are AWD they have a tendency to understeer more than an MR.

Yea I'm not as big a fan of Ferrari and Lamborghini as I thought. The new Mclaren is an interesting car, but challenging to drive in its own way. Zonda is easier but perhaps less rewarding. All these cars have issues, best to become a more patient and skilled driver to get the most out of them.

The Zonda - R The Mazda Furia, The Caddy Concept all good cars and all awarded as B-Spec prizes. the Caddy does not have much downforce for it which is to bad as it is 765hp stock and runs like the wind.

Mine sometimes eats three sets of tyres before I even take it out of the truck. It says it likes them. I'm also missing two mechanics...

OT: The Zonda R is an excellent car - if you check the prize car list you'll see how to win one, I'm afraid I can't remember exactly which event it's in!

Zonda R.. You win it in a race, not sure which but it's a great and well balanced car.
Only trouble you'll likely run into are the LM race cars.

It doesn't tell you what drivetrain the Furai has though. But I know nothing of cars, maybe it's obvious when looking at it for a trained eye :P

if i remember correclty the Tommy Kaira ZZII was one of the fastest (non race-)cars in GT4, but i haven't tryed it in GT5 yet...

Personally, I really enjoy driving the NSX R Concept '01.

Not sure if it can be tuned to match the power of the others, but boy is it ever nicely balanced.

NSX

I wouldn't be surprised if a modded Lotus Esprit could keep up.

Hmm that sounds like a good idea - which is the best stock Esprit model do u know? This one had crossed my mind, but would need a top spec model so i can tune it to compete properly.

No worries, you and the following post are both right. Apart from the Miura they are technically 4WD but the engine is mounted in the middle i think which is why they are so wide. I have a 4WD Mini Cooper and its obviously different than FRs and FFs etc.. and can take some getting used to on a racetrack, but the Lambos drive much different - more like an MR except its even more important to keep on the road - its like driving an MR but instead of two wheels to keep off the grass/sand/gravel it is all four! Can be like driving on ice on some tracks.

So far im liking the idea of Esprit and maybe the NS-X. Tbh the Zonda and McLaren F1 are a little out of my price range for now, and besides i prefer to ride something that the oher drivers wont be in.

There's nothing a love more, for example, than a tuned Fiat kickin ass of loads of higher-spec stock Japanese cars lol.
So i want a car that is around 600 - 700 BHP stock with a weight of around 1400Kg max (with all 3 reduction levels available)

Thanks for all suggestions so far. he Lotus has piqued my inteerest. Anything else perhaps?

i'm not sure what level your A or B spec drivers are, but if you can find it I suggest the toyota gt-one very fast and fun to drive plus it can enter a ton of races.

NSX-R LM Race / Road car?
Havent seen them yet and im a fan of NSX's.

Anyone knows the stats of these cars?

No modifications, save for oil change:

The Road Car (537hp - 1230kg) doesn't come with all of the adjustable racing parts (full transmission, full suspension, etc.) off the showroom, like it did in GT4, but it does retain the adjustable aero.

The Race Car (537 - 1120kg) still has the odd 'feature' from GT4 where you can purchase the wing from GT Auto for increased downforce over 'stock'.

Both cars can accept turbos, to push them over 600hp (far lower than GT4's 1,000hp+ monsters).
