It wasn't the legendary one, was it? ;) :P

No, regular Bald Eagle. Shot a red tailed Hawk down shortly after.

It's nice to just sit back and see what they do. Should've followed the eagle to see if it had a nest or if it would find someplace safe to eat that bass.

Congratulations!

The answer is 31:22. The train moves quite slow as a horse can outrun it. Combine that with a huge map and let's just say you better not miss a stopping point because the train does not go in reverse and your facing a 30 minute trip to get it back where you want it.

I'll gift you premium on Saturday. :)

P.S. - I completely lost track of time and I apologize for this being a week late.

Actually, the train can go in reverse. I just got the game for Christmas, but one of the first things I did, was steal a train. It was a good way to uncover a good perimeter of the map, and take in some sights.

This was referring to multiplayer beta. You can't go in reverse online.

Okay, I understand where the Tahiti memes come from now after getting to here more of Dutch's plans. "HAVE SOME GODDAMN FAITH!"

John Marston wasn't kidding when he said Dutch always had a plan.

Congratulations!

I completely forgot about it too. Thanks man!

So I just ran into the Watson cabin.

It is truly amazing what Rockstar have done with the NPCs in the open world. Got a mini story line out of that place and am more taken aback by how interactive and dynamic the game world is.

Sure it's still fairly linear but the fact that they have coded these types of interactions astounds me. I mean some players may never even see the place.

As an aside, I may start the game over again and stay in Chapter III. I miss Arthur but more importantly I miss swimming

Alright, I finally finished chapter 6 and now into the epilogue.

I do enjoy how interactive this game can be including the npcs. Even doing something like robbing the Catfish Jackson place leads to a small storyline.
I went in the first time and killed the dad on accident. His son, Nate was crying in a corner and I ended up feeling bad. I ended up restarting the game and just tying up the dad instead. Later, I looked up the multiple endings for if you kill the dad or Nate. It just demonstrated me the basic detail gone into this game.

Overall, I am satisfied with the game, but I have noticed a few flaws. One, the game has some glitches including texture issues in cutscenes. Arthur's clothes would sometimes become fuzzy. Another issue I found (though I'm not sure if it's the game or just me using an original Xbox One) is that the frame rate drops to slow crawl. There's also some issues with A.I. such as a chapter 6 mission I did with Dutch Van Der Linde. At one point, we had to get off our horses, but Dutch kept riding The Count in a circle. I had to commit suicide to just reset the mission.

Another complaint I have is not being able to sell my guns if I have too many of them. I mean, I would expect at least being able to sell firearms at the fence locations. They're taking things like stolen watches, so why not guns?

No mention of optimizing the economy in the online mode. I'm all for new content but they need to look at the economy first. I sincerely hope they're not going to have the same mentality as the studio for GTAO had.

I had to commit suicide to just reset the mission.

Navigating through the pause menu can reset some glitches as well.

For example navigating to the help menu or the settings and quickly going into a sub menu and backing out.

I had to do that multiple times in Chapter 6 to combat the AI simply not moving to the next position.

Also, bit late to the party but I searched the thread and I couldn't find it here so..

I had a mission where it was relevant to the story to hurry the 🤬 up to where we were going, but the two AI characters following me floundered about and could not even keep up with a slow walk, which broke the voiced dialogue like, "As you were saying....As you were saying....As you were saying...As you were saying..." or whatever the line was. It was a very amateurish mess of a conversation-in-transit. The game can't even execute being a cinematic on-rails experience correctly.

Well, I beat the Epilogue, which means all I have left to do is just explore. I think I'll go visit the RDR1 locations and maybe do some bounty hunting missions. Oh, I also want to go hunt down the KKK; I've heard that they're in this game.

I rescind some of my comments regarding stealth.

It's doable just really hard. Ambushed a bounty camp and took out 6 members with throwing knives until their dog found me.

If you find the KKK, make sure you kill them slowly & painfully :mischievous:
I've run across them twice, and as expected, they're idiots. Both encounters I hung back a bit to watch what they were doing.

One of those times...
They were trying to burn a cross, and one or two of them caught on fire, the rest freaked out, and ran away.

Yep, Neanderthals in white sheets.

So a stick of dynamite isn't slow and painful enough? Noted for next time.

One encounter I came across. Two of them got crushed under the cross that they were trying raise.
Oh it would be if it was inserted somewhere with a long fuse.

Give em time to confess their sins & think about their actions before they get the bang of their life :mischievous:

OUCH. :scared:

In online, I'm currently level 35 with $500.

I did a glitch to level up to 31 from 27. Since then it has been natural. For money I used to hunt birds for the feathers and plumes over in the swamps. Now I throw line the Ringneck Creek and it cause smallmouth bass to spawn quite frequently. They usually beach themselves and I can pick up ten in a few minutes. Then go sell in Rhodes for $20. This is especially efficient with a partner to help out.

Overall the economy is crap; it takes forever to make money and level up to buy weapons, horses, and whatever else you may want/need.

Gameplay is alright, but I tend to have issues with lag pretty often and a low frame rate.

Story missions and the story itself online makes zero sense to me. I don't understand the characters, my character never talks, so basically I have made zero effort to even try and understand the story online.

BUT, this is just the beta, right? I still have some hope for better content than basic story missions and delivering wagons for 30 strangers on the map. ;)

Same as GTAO.

Nothing ever made sense in the online story of that game. Even heists became convoluted.

I'll stick to story mode until everything is hashed out.

I dropped this game about a month and a half ago...

It was fun in it's time, but I'm past it. I'm not much of a completionist/100%-er so I have no reason to play the story, and online's nothing new.

And playing FIFA Ultimate Team is enough of a grindy game...I'm not looking to play a second one.

I like the buck cut scenes, so grabbed a few of what I've seen so far.

is there a glitch, or issue with trying to accept jobs?

I go up to, say, Bonnie MacFarlane, trying to 'accept' a job, but once I listen to the spiel, I'm not allowed to accept the job.

Its getting 🤬 frustrating

The appeal of this game didn't hit me immediately like the previous game did, so I've not touched it since launch.

However, with a bit of time on my hands I've sat down and got passed the core health and heat complications and started a few missions. I think the fight with Tommy at the saloon in Valentine really hooked me. The dynamic of it and the visual build up of mud on Arthur as the fight went on was really quite a spectacle.

Riding back from the marshland to New Hanover really made me appreciate just what a visual marvel the game is, even on the PS4 Slim. The landscapes are beautiful thanks to the foliage and the lighting engine.

It took a while to love, but wow, what a game.
