@SlipZtrEm's drivatar getting a little crazy in that white STI

Needless to say, I'm loving this game so far. The off-roading experience is just phenomenal, and I've already gotten around ten cars from just doing a little bit of the career mode :D

BTW guys, I must take this off my mind??. Knowing backwards compability... Can I play Forza 1 on the Xbone :confused:??. Because that, and FH1 and 3 will be my jams after getting the Elite Xbone soon™ :D:D

FH1 is backwards compatible.

Just an FYI:

Forza Horizon EOL coming Oct. 20
While we’re reveling in the euphoria of launching a brand-new Forza game, I do have an important update regarding the original Forza Horizon. On October 20, the original Forza Horizon for Xbox 360 will reach “End of Life” status. That means that the game and its associated DLC will no longer be available for purchase. Players who own Forza Horizon before that date will still be able to download and play the game and its associated content as normal. After that date, however, Forza Horizon and its associated DLC will no longer be for sale.

Anyone else encountered this before?

The AI got stuck on a tree, and when I realized I went back to get him unstuck. He didn't move so I figured I'd go collect my credits, but then it got weird.

Watch the map and my position. :odd::confused:

Thanks for the feedback, but I was talking about Motorsport 1. Not Horizon, I know that's backward compatible already

AFAIK, no original Xbox games are compatible with the One. Microsoft would've mentioned it if it were possible.

Maybe it's just me, and coupled with the fact that I skipped out on Horizon before this (unless the Fast and Furious one counted ), but this game's giving me a lot of Juiced vibes if anyone can recall. I've been playing along to the soundtrack via the groove station and it's such a blast.

Yup, I find it disappointing that Turn 10 didn't add any new visual mods other than the widebody kits. I was hoping to see more options for other cars. A lot of them still just have the generic Turn 10 spoiler and splitter for upgrades.

Well I mean the bolded is just straight up false.

What were you expecting? We had a post from a Turn dev outlining what exactly we would be getting in terms of customization before launch. New parts for close to 100 cars. Widebody Kits, Blowers, Rally/Off-Road Parts, Roof Racks, Roo Bars etc. There was no way we'd be getting new options for every single car in the game.. thats just an unreasonable expectation for a game with 350+ cars.

I think what we got was a huuuge step in the right direction and a much needed refresh that should hopefully be the building block to further customization improvements in the franchise.

I highly recommend buying the upgraded Rocket bunny kit (looks good) pics to follow later :sly:with the upgraded V6 turbo for the Toyota gt86 just for the sound and it goes like a rocket :D. Not cheap conversion at 85k cr but worth it for the noise :)

Is anyone else having issues where the game takes forever to load things up? Just today I tried going to my cars but it would never load up my cars.

Slowdowns for me occur anytime I'm purchasing upgrades or messing with the vinyl/paint editor. Dunno if hardware has anything to do with it seeing as I have a launch edition Xbox but I'm not sure.

On another unrelated note, if you want mad ATV Offroad Fury 2 vibes just make an ultimate-air centered bucket list challenge with What's Golden playing :sly:

I also had slowdowns too when I was saving a wrap I made for my GT-R. The game would just keep saving for all eternity. Thank god no save data was lost.

And another thing. Apparently after that I've also been having issues launching the game as I would get that error telling me the game took too long to launch. Unfortunately it isn't just FH3 that is having this problem. I notice that Fallout 4 was also having this issue too. Seems to be happening for games I own on disc as I own both Fallout 4 and FH3 on disc.

Can anyone tell me which features won't be available if you don't have Xbox Live Gold?

No FH3 today, issue with my order, will pick it up in store this weekend...Maybe the wait will make it so much sweeter to play

For those who used to making Livery's and designs in Forza games, i need some help and tips about the livery editor that can help me improve my skills in the future. I have been messing around the editor and i find it rather complicated for me. Didn't expected to take almost 2 hours just to make one "simple" livery. I'm happy with the results even thought there are some rough parts.

Honestly, I was expecting Turn 10 to tackle body kits for cars other than the full on upgrade heroes. Sure, what we got is a great start, but I think they could have added a few more.

New parts for close to 100 cars. Widebody Kits, Blowers, Rally/Off-Road Parts, Roof Racks, Roo Bars etc.
My apologies, I didn't mean just widebody, I was thinking more of "upgrade heroes" and I'm looking at the "upgrade heroes" section of the game. I only see close to 50 cars, not 100. It's not a bad number for upgrades on cars, but it comes a bit short of what I was expecting.

There was no way we'd be getting new options for every single car in the game.. thats just an unreasonable expectation for a game with 350+ cars.
You're right, that would be an unreasonable expectation if that was true, except that I didn't expect that. There were a good amount of cars from the previous games that had some decent upgrade options already. All I wanted was a few more body options given to cars that still were limited to the generic splitter and spoiler. Visual mods that would include factory parts and spoilers like there was on some cars in the game already or parts that were in previous Forza titles that were scraped.

Except that it's actually not. There is little change to the customization aspect from an aesthetics standpoint, aside from the new hero kit upgrades.

What I was expecting was more in terms of the older kits to return, except, for the most part, it seems like a port of a lot of stuff we already had rather than a substantial upgrade to the system. Not once was it asked for customization on all cars, but there is a ton of missed potential there. Not everything has to be Rocket Bunny this, or Liberty Walk that. There's more to the world then those overrated kits.

It's a good step, I agree. I very much like the fact that we're not forced with one Driver selection, or the fact that I can change my license plate to my liking. I also like the sidewall text on the tires. However, I don't agree that it was huge.

Paint thread is kinda dead, so I'll just post these in here instead :)

Vinyl Groups

Any logos or vinyl groups that I create of a high enough standard to be shared can also be found by using the keyword PJT, or via my Storefront. Feel free to download them for your own cars, or trace them so that you have your own unlocked versions. Each logo have been extensively researched so as to match the real logo's colours and dimensions as best as possible.

Screenshots are from Forza Motorsport 6, but all logos are also available in Forza Horizon 3.

PJ, nothing wrong against you or your work (which is simply stunning, by the way), but is there even such a thing as a Horizon paint thread yet? I haven't seen anything of the sort on the game's main sub-forum... The pictures are pretty darn detailed, but they slow down the thread somewhat because of their size. Plus, if you did post all those pictures on the paint thread itself (if it exists), I highly doubt they would go amiss.

Again, nothing against you, just wondering that's all.

Regarding the pics, I thought GTPlanet auto-copied any images larger than 800x and re-uploaded them. I remember that being a feature when I was a regular here (during the days of Gran Turismo 6), apologies for not doing the re-size myself, I simply copied my code from the official forums. I'll remove a bunch of pics to make it easier.

As for a paint thread, I saw one with 7 posts that went up a few days ago.

Well that option was once available, yes, but if I remember correctly, it was removed due to techinical issues with the site's code. Therefore, if users want their images re-sized, they must do such beforehand. It is okay if you forgot, it was not something millions of users spoke of when it happened. And I suspect many users are still unaware of that feature not being functional today...

And I see you have posted your pictures over there as well. If people somehow miss that, they certainly do not understand the work you put behind your liveries. To be honest, I am far from being the greatest painter in the world, but even I recognize just how difficult it can be to do all that with Forza's livery editor. It's not just plonking logos into it and do a livery with a snap of the fingers...

That's partly why I stopped painting in Forza Motorsport 6 so early. I was putting in all of this time and effort and the lack of a Storefront meant that almost nobody would see my work unless it was a contest winner (which makes them show up first whenever somebody buys a car). I did have 33,000 downloads by the end of it but if I didn't put those designs into contests the final total would have only been a few hundred.

At one point I thought "why put 20+ hours into a Forza paint when I can spend that time on "real work" and get better recognition for it?" and stopped painting altogether. 5 months later I had this to show for it:

It didn't help that Turn 10 basically turn their back to painters by regularly featuring photo contest winners, but almost never sharing livery winner pics.

For Horizon 3, I won't go back into full-on painting as I don't want to sink that much time into it. I'll make some simple designs using the database of logos I already have, but I doubt I'll make many new logos from this point onwards. For reference, the green MX5 I shared took me about 30 minutes in total as I only used existing logos to create it. A logo alone takes about 2 hours if you want to do it properly.

Well I cannot say I disagree with any of that, it is a shame that T10 still won't recognize most painter's works unless there's a very clear way to display said work to the public audience. And it is not a T10-only thing either. I dare say PD is even worse when it comes to user photos, since T10 did use pictures from players to showcase each car in Forza 6 on their website. PD may be good at creating photos for promotional purposes themselves, but they should be giving other people a fair chance as well.

Here's hoping Horizon 3 can counter those trends. Bringing the Storefront back is a good sign, all things considered, but as you said things can still be improved...
