Been grinding Goliath last night. Made 4.4 million out of it and manage to buy myself a Ferrari FXX-K. :)

I don't know if its just me but it seems like the AI can't handle doing a race across the entire map. I'm playing on the expert difficulty and manage to lap my opponents once. And not only that but often, a few drivatars will get stuck on one spot because either they hit a tree or are stuck in a spot they cant get out and they will remain stuck on that one spot for the rest of the race.
Someone mentioned before that the drivatars in the back get stuck in limbo because the part of the map they're on ceases to exist as you get ahead of them.

Those street races can go to hell. You need a car that has an absurdly high speed rating to get through some of them...

And that final Midnight race is actually super easy - the AI really slows down after the firsr few sections. The GNX one was a lot more problematic - damned thing was hitting 170 on some straights.
The way I managed it was to Rosberg my way past in the corners, and then defend like a madman down the straights.

I just did Goliath for a 2nd time, but I decided to try 2 laps instead of one and in my Huayra BC. I got 5 wheelspins due to winning it and I used one already; it gave me 100,000cr. Which turned to 200k due to me having VIP.

I'm glad there's a non dorifto method of earning money as well.

The funny thing is that I changed to the Forza series because GT was a grind heavy game which only looked great under certain circumstances and now I'm playing the PC version of FH3 it's a slightly more grindy game than its predecessor and only looks great at certain times. FH2 had a slightly more linear game progression and I found it less grindy as a result.

lol Goliath.

M3 wall taps where it's at.

Yep. Though that really does mess up your "average collisions per race" stat.

Those that aren't enjoying the PR stunts, I've got a fun challenge: try to do them in a C Class car. I've got a 280SL built for drag racing (1000hp, AWD, absolutely cack handling), and it's been a lot of fun trying to hit traps and zones with it. Was able to complete all but three of the traps before having to bust out the X Class Aventador.

There was one speed zone in particular that required not just a fast car, but one with a ton of downforce (175mph average). Good thing for the Ultima included in the VIP pack.

I have no idea what you're talking about....

Do you need to win street races and championships for them to add to your completion rate? You don't have to win the Exhibition events, I know that much.

EDIT: Can someone enlighten me to this M3 thing?

It involves taking a car like the M3 or Focus HE which have Drift Skills boost and abusing Drift Taps to rack up huge points in no time.

There's a Danger Sign where you have to go over 750 feet to get three stars. I was able to get 680 in a Charger Daytona going almost 175 MPH.

That guy forgot to inform you of the most important perk you need, to go along with those other two.

You need the 3x skills exp perk too, the one that you buy for 10 skill points, and it's good for 3 races. That gives you the perk bonus you see on my screenshot. Basically if you drift for awhile during a race and gain 20 levels, it gives double that exp once you finish the race.

By the bridge, or at the top of a hill?

For the latter, AWD is pretty much a requirement to maintain speed on the dirt. The bridge is just speed. 👍

The bridge. It's the one right after the banked left turn leading to the bridge.

(I would've gone faster but the rally suspension was making the Charger's front tires tripod)

Yeah, that one's not exactly easy. Definitely did it in the 1500hp Lambo. I imagine it requires a four-digit corral to pull off.

Well, I was able to pull it off with 600-700 HP. Need I mention that the Charger Daytona has one of the lowest drag coefficients in the world? (It has a cd of .29)

I used the Rally Fighter to get all of the danger signs, and the Regara for all of the speed traps, and my lifted Morris Mini rally car for all the drift events on and off road. I first found all the roads, then all of the boards and then all the PR events, I am a completionist, sad Microsoft doesn't have a platinum, uh achievement?

Maybe it did then (and definitely in comparison to every other muscle car out there), but there's quite a lot of cars out there that dip under that figure these days. Most of Mercedes' modern sedan lineup, a few Audis, the i8... you get the idea. Though that does bring up a good point: there's definitely some level of aero modelling at play in the game. I was doing some achievement hunting last week and needed to use the 2017 Raptor. Even pumping that thing up into the mega-horsepower range wouldn't push it past 170-ish mph.

Good to see.

Has anyone done any races in an A class vehicle, and raced in the 1970's specific set up? If you do take a look at the AI suspension travel, it's absolutely ridiculous. I was racing last night and every time this one car would floor it, he looked like he was about to pop a wheelie. If you watch your rear view when you're going around a turn as well, you'll see them have massive amounts of body roll. It's quite a sight to see.

I saw a Nova almost catch air over a small bump yesterday on a rally run, it's ridiculous.

Found a strange glitch with the AMC Rebel: lowering it any amount has some of the underhood polygons pop through.

I sent it to auction right after, so it'll be someone else's problem shortly!

A "relaxed" festivals question. Is there a reason to level up a festival before expanding to a new location? Can you go back to a location to increase the level? Byron Bay is level two, my Outback is at 3.
Yeah, I don't play a lot.
You can pretty much expand or open festivals in any order you want. I expanded my festivals fairly evenly. The reason is that they give you discounts on cars when you expand a festival, and the higher the expansion, the more expensive the cars. You don't want to expand just one location, then get to level 5 and they're offering you multi-million cars on sale you can't afford because you haven't saved up the money first. If you expand all the locations evenly, you will be able to save money and buy the discounted cars as they're offered to you.

I... I dunno whether this ought to be a thing. It seems like it really is a major exploit.

I guess I'll still try it tonight.

To be honest, I've only done it twice, once without perks and once with to see the difference. After that, I'd much rather do Goliath, since it can actually be somewhat enjoyable (though I don't really care for the S Class races).

Egh, I finished all the exhibitions and championships. I just have a few bucket list items to do for completion, so it's not going to "ruin" the game for me. I was level 269 before I even tried it.

I look at it as, if you don't want to do it, don't. Now I know what my grandpa meant when he always said "Son, if you want nice things in life, you're going to have to learn to drift tap".

I've just opened Yarra Valley. Lots of rallying, lots of opportunities for me to use the Warthog.

What is everyone's favorite car in Horizon 3 so far? I have three:
  • Charger Daytona (Insane grip for a rally build)
  • M112 Warthog (Because screw logic. It also has impressive handling for such a big thing)
  • Polaris RZR (Sleeper.)

I was actually about to say something about this method, but didn't know if I would be allowed to talk about that here.
