Yes. They haven't announced what it's going to be yet, but smart money would bet on a Porsche expansion.

I wonder if this is still a safe bet now that Porsche have announced the end of their partnership with EA. I would think that going forward Porsche would be treated similarly to any other manufacturer in Forza. Maybe there will be a Porsche car pack, and the expansion won't be Porsche focused (again)

There'll be a Porsche pack (or expansion) as such details would have been finallised before the end of the EA partnership.

For T10/PG to make the Porsche content already planned free would either be a contract breach and/or massive net loss in revenue.

As much as the devs may or may not be car enthusiasts, their primary goal no matter what is the All Mighty Dollar.

They probably agreed to a Porsche DLC in every game up until the EA deal came through, seeing how it was a paid DLC in FM4, FH2 and FM6 (strange how FH1 and FM5 got disregarded) and since FH3 came out before the deal was over, it's logical. I'm just hoping there's more content, like the full on career mode expansion of FM6, to warrant the fact we'll most likely have to pay for it.

The map expansion looks gorgeous but too expensive for me. I don't know why but FH3 feeled boring very quicly for me after the last event. Nice cars, nice map, but not enough small twisted roads and maybe a collision engine too permissive. My biggest complain is that roads are too wide and "flat".

I've been thinking of re-installing Horizon 2. It had me glued a lot longer for some reason.

Been doing some online adventures, on Wednesday the racing was really good and fair. Today it was horrible, it felt like my car had a magnet in it drawing in all the other cars :@

The chance of Porsche getting another expansion is the reason why I didn't opt for the Expansion Pass. As much as I want to see them return, I don't feel like paying again. Any game can have Porsche now, so Forza really could release their inventory for free (as if they were included from day one) and make another creative expansion like Blizzard Mountain.

I don't agree that they should release it for free, as that is a ton of cars that they have in their system. I wouldn't mind if they added a pack of all-new cars to the series for purchase, and also leave an option to buy those that are returns as a seperate pack for those that are inclined. I wouldn't want to see it as an expansion, that is what I agree on, and that is also why I'm holding out.

Just because the EA exclusivity is up, does not mean that these still don't cost money.

My gut feeling is that the Porsche models are cheaper to license with EA out of the picture. Just a guess. Releasing them for free would be a tremendous investment in the main game's appeal. Of course, they could also do what you suggest, but I'm almost sure I'd still hold off. Buying the Porsche packs for AC sort of controls my hunger. FH is mostly about the overall experience for me, so buying additional cars hasn't been a priority.

It's incorrect to say the deal with EA is over. It's ending, but neither Porsche or EA are saying exactly when. Any Porsches that might show up in FH3 will still have been sub-licensed through EA. So I have no problem paying for it, just like I have every past Porsche expansion. I agree with @Nielsen on one point, though, and that's that any future licensing of Porsches should be less expensive simply because the middle man has been removed. Hopefully in FM7 and FH4, we'll see Porsches included in the games at no additional cost from Day 1, just like Ferrari, Lamborghini and everyone else.

If the Porsche 911 964 or 993 are absent once again, I won't be buying the Porsche DLC. I was disappointed that neither of them were in FH2 or FM6.

Well, I already invested in the expansion pass as I saw myself buying the Porsche pass anyway. I imagine that Turn 10 will still managed to add new road car additions including a 993 and 964 possibly. I just hope they add some upgrade options to the Porsches already added such as the rally mods for the Porsche 959:

I believe what @ImaRobot is hinting at is that the deal for these cars was made long before we all heard about Porsche & EA parting ways.

Hindsight being 20/20 and all that.

GTP's recent news article on the subject quoted a source saying that EA loses control of the Porsche license in 2016.

That's only your assumption, right? Maybe Turn 10 knew about this development long before any papers had to be signed. Dan Greenawalt was in Stuttgart a few days ago. Possibly to do business with Porsche's own Branded Entertainment department.

He didn't say I misunderstood him though. No matter how we're twisting each other's words, I don't see EA being involved in this if there may be another Porsche Expansion in 2017.

I never said you did.

However, just because a Porsche Expansion may be arriving in 2017 doesn't mean EA wasn't involved. People were already spying Porsches in the promo screenshots before the announcement was made, which would mean EA was more than likely involved because the agreement to license the cars was done at the tail end of EA & Porsche's contract. As @Populuxe Cowboy alluded, we don't know the official date the contract ends so as of right now, it may still be in effect.

From the WIR:
Here’s a teaser for you, we will also have a brand new event in January starring a car from the January Car Pack for Forza Horizon 3; a car that just happens to be the most requested BMW in Forza history. I’ll let you guys ruminate on that for a few days before we officially unveil the car next week on our Forza Facebook page.
