I'd rather the hoods don't open instead of opening them and finding an incorrect engine, it'd would be odd to see.
Yes, me as well. Still, that wasn't what I was saying Should happen. I was arguing that pretending isn't accurate.

Now they can't model 150+ individual swapped engines for all the cars, let alone all the certain types of engine a car can swap in. Now what they could've done is this. Let's say I would like to swap a V8 into a certain car. They could take the Corvette ZR1's engine, remove the branding on it, and replacing the current engine inside. This method wouldn't work on all cars, but it would at least get 25% an engine you could still autovista in.

Like I said, there's no way they're going to individually model all engine swap options for all cars eligible for an engine swap.
Why can't they? If they are going to get so involved in this Forzavista, that they trademarked, then they better go all out and not half assed. It's lazy, especially when alot of cars you can't even open a trunk or the hood regardless

The engine's are quiet obvious what they are, even without names. So exactly what you said, should happen. You swapped your AE86 with an TT inline-6, than throw that 2jz in the bay and show it in auto vista. Still, like I said, it probably has to do with something other than design. Which kind of sucks.

I feel there are lots of areas like this in Forza, and always have been, but I'm ok with it. It's not like the Devs do Fit Checks on all the hardware you can strap on a car. Pretty sure you would have a hard time fitting a big block V8 in a Miata IRL, but in game, no problem!
Hard? Maybe. Impossible? No. I'm not saying turn this game into a mechanics class and get into every deal and unscrew every bolt and screw just so you can instal new brake pads. No, that's just overly excessive. What I am asking is for them to model engine bays correctly if they are going to go into so much detail just to leave out some things.

That's what I was saying
I never disagreed. I was arguing its not realistic, exactly your words.

Correct. I never said it was.

Not showing engine = preferable. Not accurate.

(Although for me RETAINS accuracy BETTER)
Maybe you shouldn't bring up accuracy if your not trying to say its not more accurate. If preferable was all that said, ten I would have simply agreed.

Right well I think my engine question has been more than dealt with now

Can we please forget about it now? New topic? Please?

Well honestly neither is opening up the hood and revealing the wrong engine. Just saying.

Probably so. It's probably just T10 being lazy as the car manufactures themselves don't seem to have a problem with engine swapping. Maybe it could be due to engine size vs engine bay capacity? We honestly don't know. :indiff:

And to answer @GranTurismo guy's question, it surely wouldn't be as simple as that. They'd probably still have to make modifications to parts of the engine to get it to fit properly.

That or they CBA right now. I mean they're doing everything else, right?

Really, really hoping I can get forza within a week now :)

I love how turn 10 have managed their game. Since launch they have:

-increased the Cr you earn by over double
-decreased the prices of the higher priced cars, most expensive now is 2 million
-made dlc cars attainable without spending Cr or tokens
-made all of the cars available as "rentals"
-added road America for free with new layouts, for free
-added long beach, a new track to the series, for free
-added the most wished for of all content, the nurburgring, with new layouts, for free

Car pass owners also benefit from:
-3 free booster packs containing 5 cars each, so 15 free cars
-2 extra free full packs with 10 cars each, 20 more free cars
-so overall 35 free cars to use

I find the work they have put towards pleasing fans fantastic. Good on you, turn10 :D

I know of an active modding community for a fatally buggy, ugly shovelware racing game, solely because building up your cars involves taking them apart component by component and reinstalling everything using the upgraded parts. I know it would turn some people off, but it redeemed what would have otherwise been a worthless game. It was quite innovative.

It's called Street Legal Racing Redline:

+1:bowdown:👍

That is all I want since forza 3, able to set everything if you want it and get a unique car in with your own style. Wheel spacers , wheels offset , body kits (rocket bunny), Turbo's setting ………………

In fact more personalization and no more cars and tracks at first as everybody seam to ask, forza 4 amount of cars and tracks is fine IMO.

Oh yes maybe some JZX90, 100 I love some much the chaser and please Ebisu courses, I mean gripper have the Nurburgring and we have nothing it's not fair  (tsukuba isn't a dedicated drift track).

I think they opted not to show engine swaps and aspiration conversions because they're not quite as simple as just swapping the block or dropping a generic supercharger in place. There's a massive amount of changes needed in the wiring, piping, and the organization of the engine bay altogether. It would be possible, yes, but the man-hours and extra model data required wouldn't be worth such a minor trade-off that really only a few people would ever feel more than exceptionally mild disappointment over.

And the few people that would actually take notice are liable to be extra anal, and pick holes in the work despite however long they put into it. I suspect they made the right choice to stay well clear and put their time into something else.

Two points I want to bring up about Drivatars. I'm doing the R-Class racing series right now and two things that bother me right now are that they rarely use a good design (they're usually one solid color) and they re-enter the track with wreck less abandon. I find myself having to enable then disable the Drivatar designs when I start a race.

You've never seen one before?
A V8 Miata IRL? No, I have not. Sounds like a real monster, and a lot of fun.

I wrote the post based in part on my own current experience: installing power disk brakes on my '66 Mustang, and dealing with the countless challenges of fit and access associated with modding a car from stock.

Does anyone else have trouble with their sound spitting and sputtering (the best way I know to describe it) during races. It happens with every car I drive, on every track, and is completely random.

:odd: It doesn´t for me... Maybe something´s wrong with your copy of the game/console? :nervous:

It seems to be related to instant-resume. It seems to get worse if it's been a few days since the game was fired up.

Just restart the game (from the dashboard select quit) and that should fix the problem.
