Haha, I wasn't bottom! Surprisingly enough :lol: I used a Caterham too, not a massive fan of the short layout of this track though so I'm hoping we'll eventually go to something which plays to my strengths a bit more. :D
 
Man definitely could have improved my time, well next time i know wasn't happy with my time but could have been worse looking forward to next round. Whens next round start?
 
Congratulations to all you guys. This is going to be the toughest WTC so far with the times so close. I did countless 1.06xxx laps, managed to get it down with some tweaking to a few 1.05xx's and then, to quote Zack Wilde, I had a 'Blessed Hellride' with my submitted time.

Well done NITRO. I did not know your car even existed! 👍

Yes if i knew Cobra was so fast and then if i had Cobra then who knows. Anyway that was fantastic start. We could see that 1:05.xxx is strong group :sly: 👍 Can't wait to see what we could do in a one and the same car.

Teaches me to play game more offten and OBTAIN CARS !!!! because did't have a clue about existence such powerful machine. Anyway Congratulations to Nitro but more to Zecco, cause i could not match his lap time either in Nismo, and Merc E192 Evo II and Caterham

I could only see you and RomKnight on my Speedwall and saw your times coming down all the time. I was hanging on for dear life!! It certainly is not because of a lack of trying from you two guys. Thank you anyway :)

I have a pretty good setup for the R34 for the longer tracks. I can post it (with Terronium's permission) in the tunings thread if you guys want it

l tried out 4 different cars for this round .
Audi R8
Shelby Cobra 427
Audi TT
Ford Focus

Top speed tests , the only car to get faster than 165 mph. was the Shelby Cobra. ( top speed 190 )
So l now had my car , just needed to tweak it out to my driving style . The 2 phase tuning in this game confused me a bit at first , but after some trial and error l found some settings that felt good & hit the track.
My original car choice was the Audi TT , but couldn't get time under 1:06 . l knew in my heart 1:06 wasn't going to cut it , so l put on my game face , gritted my teeth , and pushed as hard as l could .

Well done Zeeco & USSR very good times .
l will get a car & track choice out to Terronium today so he can get round 2 up and running .
Good luck in round 2 everyone . ;)

What do you mean by 2 phase tuning? Not great at tuning so any insight is helpful. Maybe I can join you guys sometime if I get my crap together.
 
First things first: Congrats to those who made the 1st podium 👍

I have to confess that I love the Ford Focus RS and with T-12 tune was amazing. But I had to check other cars and after tying lots of them I jumped between the Focus RS and the GT-R (R34) doing my best time with the latter.

This is my first time with this kind of event and I just discovered how hard Time Attack is. Trust me, I'm the one with the most surprised face here. I joined just to have fun expecting to be last or near at best.

Holidays are coming and people will have more free time so its going to be tougher.

PS: On the way to hit that "perfect" lap I kept fiddling with my G27 settings. Throttle sensitivity has some inconsistencies but is near perfect now :)

l wasn't quite sure what to call it , but it seems that quick tuning and advanced tuning can be combined .
What l did was make a tune on advanced , and saved it . Then adjusted setup in quick tuning and saved that . When l checked after the saves both adjustments were in place .
l discovered this quite by accident , not sure if it has been mentioned around here yet.

Ok, haven't tried quick tuning. Maybe it works both ways, you know. Use quick tuning to get a good balance and then go to advanced to dial in the particulars of each track. Gonna try this and hopefully my PS won't freeze a hundred times in the process. Thanks for the help.👍

I don't think you can count anyone out as of yet. :P People are still exploring the game and I don't think anyone has tried every car, or even has the money to try every car out so people are going to continue to learn how to get the best from each car and each track.

Should be interesting to see how this all pans out, I should have more time to put towards Round 2 too, perhaps I might even be competitive this time! :D

Tell me about it. I can't really afford any car without having to sell another. The in-game economy is a bit pants at the moment...
 
I've tried these:
Acura NSX
Chevy Camaro SS
GTR R34

But the one that settled in my heart is Evo X. That beast is incredible, best handling car i have so far.

Haha yeah, I've heard about that probelm you've been having. I thought you gave the PS3 version up for the 360 version instead? I'm lucky I haven't had that probelm yet but I always end up spending my money on GT1 and GT3 cars. :lol:

I know Focus is not match for Merc 190 Evo II, Caterham and Nismo R34, I'm sure that if you pick a rear wheel drive car you would easy cut down 2 seconds. I know that already, most of best lap times in Autolog during races belongs to you. So i was quite surprise to see you somewhere in the middle instead at the top.

Take them to London River and then they will be calling you Daddy. My ego was definitely bruised after the beat down you put on everybody on the last WTC, for some reason me and that track has never gotton along...

That was epic combo! Time submitted finally and i can rest from entire week of hard driving.
 
@ussr It would be epic if I could do an entire lap without the stupid freeze. It still happens.

I'm not near my ps3 since Friday. Good thing I've seen T-12 tune just before I leave. A little play with the tune to suit me and I still managed to shaved a second off my previous time.

I'm betting this one did not went as well as round 1 but I can guarantee its pure fun just trying.

That day I've even made some times that turn to regional records and I hope I can hold them for awhile to keep my moral up :D
