You could probably enjoy R2 without playing the first, but I recommend going ahead and playing the first one.

It could depend on release dates. I think they're different enough that both could sell well.

I love the new feature of 8-player online co-op. I think it will shock everyone with the extremely intense boss battles (and everything else it has to offer), and all the other goodies that come with that, involving badly-outnumbered firefights, showing how much depth and creativity Insomniac Games really has. I mean come on - one campaign for single player, a completely seperate one for co-op, both being superbly intense. And dont forget 60 player online matches. And trophies. Rumors are that since that all games have to have the same amount of "trophy value," Resistance 2 (and every other game) will have in the range of 75-150 trophies. Can't wait. This will stomp Gears of War 2 to the ground, becuase of all the mentioned above, and also just how many PS3 owners (and future customers) will be attracted to this game, the extremely good graphics and also the much better color pallet available in R2 versus GoW2. The Idaho location, a very "different" place to be featured, is Twin Falls, Idaho. It is about 500 miles south of my own Idaho location. Hope all of you will order this game, enjoy it, and (hopefully) we will be able to kick some Chimeran ass along the way! CANT WAIT!

Can't wait for the game. Loved the first one.
Played the entire scenario like 5 times in singleplayer and 2 times in 2 player coop.
(not counting the numorous times i played a single level to get special rewards)

Guys Im really excited about this game, but judging from the videos Ive seen thus far, it just doesnt look very good at all. Watch this video for example: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/39480.html

I know thats a low quality video but still. It just doesnt seem any better than all the other First person shooters out there. I guess a little reassurance from Scaff or Jeremy would be nice.
