Rewind feature.

What I say is let the feature be able to be enabled/disabled just like the other technological aids that are in the room settings when in an open lobby. If a person joins the room to see that TCS or ABS is disabled, they just leave the room, no harm no foul and both people move on.

(Most may not agree) but I believe that the experience would be somewhat taken away when making mistakes... If you mis judge a corner by coming in too hot, and you run into a corner guard rail with a room thats supporting heavy damage, the fact that you can just hit a button and go back 3-7 seconds is a tad bit too forgiving in my opinion. Sure you lose a couple positions in the race, but the mindset of having to rely on the rewind feature just to stay in a race isn't a mindset I completely agree with. But as long as I can leave a room and have the ability to turn it off (unlike the srf in the license tests :grumpy:) I guess it's safe to say that all isn't lost. Just as long as those that use the feature won't brag about being the better drivers in the community :P.

It seems that we are getting down to the question of where the line should be drawn. My vote would be to draw two vastly differing lines, one for Arcade and one for GT. The bigger and more rewarding PD make Arcade mode, the more that GT mode can flex it's simmy muscles. Make Arcade a big bang, crash, rewindy, fireworksy, outlandishly OTT affair with actual arcade attributes, and make GT mode brutal and unforgiving.

For rather obvious reasons, Rewind is a feature that can't be used in online rooms anyways 👍
But but but, imagine what will happen if PD decides to have rewind online (it is PD, known for making weird decisions). Oh the hilarity.

That would create the laggyesy game of all time

How does an online rewind system create lag? Other crazy effects, maybe. But I'm failing to see how it could cause actual lag. Sorry if I'm looking at this too one-dimensionally.

It simply would not be possible online. As slip says, it should be rather obvious to anyone that can think logically.

Yes I completely agree, I was just wondering how it could create lag though if I somehow were online. Fortunately that (as you said) isn't possible, if it were then PD would do heaven knows what with it..

Well I suppose the effect it would create online could be described as lag but not in the same way we would normally define it. More a "two completely different time dimensions" sort of lag.

Forza doesnt have rewind online does it?

You rewind back about 4 seconds, you can't pause it and choose where you want to lift off. No one else is effected when you use it.

You could have it online, but it would have to affect everybody, otherwise you'd be de-syncing yourself from the server. And without limits imposed, I can already see it getting completely out of hand. Everyone could rewind as they see fit, who would want to race that way?

Could be fun in a wacky way maybe? Like those rooms where you're supposed to drive dirty and smash each other.
