I seem to be having a problem with the Touring Car Legends mod (Basically Group A touring cars), a lot of the skins are missing and a few cars have no sounds whatsoever.. I have the mod up to date so I'm unsure why I'm having the issue that I am.

Does anyone know how to use physics editor? I'm trying to make the Engine specs on the Ligier JS P2 more accurate, but I have no idea how to edit the horse power for each engine.

Add this line to the end of the engine.ini file

GeneralPowerMult*=1.00

1.00 means default power. So .90 would give it less power and 1.10 would give it more power. Its adjustable by .01

I'm having an issue with a livery I am trying to make for the Porsche 919 in the WES mod by Simtek. I have tried changing the alpha layer in my livery before saving as a .dds, but rFactor is not taking any notice. I am saving it as a DXT5 ARGB format and running DX9 on graphics, so chrome is showing up on other cars both in game and in the showroom. A good example that I have is the Carlin liveried 2011 GP2 car, and I was able to change that to check I was saving and running everything correctly.

I believe now that there is something in the actual coding for the car that is disabling the alpha layer or overwriting it altogether. Does anyone have enough coding knowledge to change this? The mod I have was from this link:

It is driving me insane!!!

I'm setting off on a career mode in rFactor using F1 mods, beginning in 1988 with AGS. I randomly picked them from the five teams which had only one driver that year. The problem is, the liveries for the 1988 mod are saved as Microsoft Access files and not .dds files, so no Irish-flavoured livery this season. I've even gone as far as to hack together a sort of ersatz Dallara 3087 which they had to use in the Brazilian GP, and I'm creating .rcd files for each driver left out in the mod (e.g. the infamous Jean-Louis Schlesser).

There's also another problem - the only 1990 mod I've found ran like absolute crap on my laptop and caused the game to crash, so I guess I'll either skip that (and pretend I just went to race sportscars for that season) or wait until I get a better PC/laptop.

Anyone know how to setup the shifter on rFactor? I tried to and I've had terrible luck with it.

Edit: Nevermind, just had to be quick with assigning the gears to their proper position.

So, an update on my rFactor career mode: I've scored points at Monaco! Granted, of the 26 starters, only 6 managed to finish. :embarrassed: Alain Prost currently leads the championship on 18 points, with Mansell 2nd with 12 points, then Piquet 3rd with 9 points, Patrese 4th, also with 9 points but behind on countback, while Senna's only 5th with 8 points.

Sorry for the double post, but does anyone know how to increase the AI's tyre wear?

Only six finished? That almost sounds like... was it the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco in 1996 where only six drivers finished? You score points however you can. So cheers to you, DK mate.

.plr file with your name on it. There should be lines for AI modifiers in it.

I tried setting AI Tire Model to 2.0, but the game's reverted that back to 1.0.

So i tried to boot up my rFactor after several months of inactivity. Turns out, it cant run on Windows 10. It always says RFactor Config error or something similar. It runs very well on Windows 7 and 8 but not 10. Tried changing compability and reinstall fresh. No use.

Anyone have one? I plan to make some BSpec out of it. Now i cant :(

That is very odd, I've been able to run rFactor ever since upgrading to Windows 10.

Well some people reported it on the official forum

http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/windows-10.109420/

I dont know. Its just happened to me suddenly.

EDIT: Now not the Config thags error. Seems like it could enter a game window for tenth second and then "rFactor has stopped working".

Maube i try to find a new installer. Its not through Steam though. It my rather old installer on CD bought on 2010.

I haven't played rFactor lately, but even I was able to play rFactor on Windows 10. You'll need to make sure you don't have something altering your rFactor configuration or something.

Sooooo, would anyone remember where I can find the Lola B12/60 Template for the enduracers mod? Kinda need it for a Mod I'm part of.

Well, I found it (via a old PM) so got it  Thanks for the assist though.

Just for you folk, I'll be showing the skin for that mod to you guys first ;)

So, I had a issue which caused me to have to reinstall many of my programs. Luckily I didn't have to reinstall this but I tried to start this up, I get a message telling me that "d3dx9_26.dll" is missing.

rFactor is an amazing simulation racing game. After having picked up my first DiRT games (DiRT and DiRT 2), I always felt the weakest link for rFactor in terms of racing was rally racing. The early sort of rally racing for me in this game was that off-road Lienz course. Then too, some of the different Lienz courses can be like tarmac rally courses. Usually when I think of rFactor and rally, I usually think of the amazing Historic Rally Car mod with all of those lovely classic rally cars. Granted rFactor isn't Colin McRae Rally or Richard Burns Rally on the rallying front, the feel overall isn't as solid.

Yesterday after playing around with DiRT, I looked up a few rFactor videos on rallying. One was kind of strange because I was looking up KAMAZ and saw someone post an rFactor video using a KAMAZ Rally Raid truck on a rally stage that looks like the Safari Rally. Funny enough, I then saw a bit of a video where the Bathurst Legends mod was racing around this same Africa rally course.

I may fire up rFactor in the near future for the first time in 2016. This year will mark ten years since I bought rFactor.

There is a reason why I try not to follow mods hosted on suspicious sites or on sites that lead to shady sites. Case in point- I recently downloaded Rally World 4.0, a mod I've been looking for online after having seen videos and pictures of the mod. Any sort of proper links to the mod usually take me to any number of shady websites. The safest method was to visit (another message board) and download the files from there.

Through all of that trouble, I then managed to play this Rally World mod; and to say the least, it is about as fun and as deep as the Historic Rally Car mod. All of the cars look and perform very well. I mostly use the Lienz Hill Climb track as my test track for on-road and off-road capabilities. I also used the Mt. Akina tracks as test courses also. The mod also has some GT-style cars perhaps better suited for targa rallies and tarmac rallies. Later, I came across an add-on pack that included hill climb cars. Those things are beasts! Granted all of this isn't like the Colin McRae or DiRT games, this mod is surely great. I only wish this wasn't such a shady and sneaky mod to download. The 3GB download is worth it.

rFactor isn't too much a quality game for rallying, but I do credit those who make it even remotely engaging.
