I've done a lot since the past post. So I'm going to get through as many things as I can.

* I had to retire the Italian and European Challenge because the game played too slow for my computer.

* The 2007 Endurance Touring Car Series is a nice mod with some easy-driving cars. Most of the cars are either BMWs or Alfa Romeos. It's a very nice package. It's a bit of a massive download to get everything, but worth it.

* The VW Lupo Cup 2003 mod features the peppy Lupo Cup cars. I did a little racing at Silverstone with these cars, and they're pretty fun. I was looking for a good small car touring car mod. This one could serve you well as it's in the rFactor Central Hall of Fame.

* I tried to install the new Modern Showroom, but I've had so much trouble trying to get it to work. So I ended up reverting back to the Alternative Showroom. I was looking for it as an alternative for the sometimes slow Alternative Showroom. I didn't want to go back to the original one rFactor uses. If I could, I'd use the showroom the Historic Rally Car mod uses as it's fairly simple. Thing is, I'd change that bluish-gray color to a royal blue or a sapphire blue.

rFactor is a great game, and mods make it even better. Never stop mod-hunting if you're an rFactor fan! Part of me still wants to do some painting of cars. I've just never found any good mods I can use to make my own paint designs for cars.

I downloaded the F1ligue 09 mod beta. Hope cars don't handle like that because they understeer like snowplows.

What settings do you guys use for your G25? maybe a controller.ini and the FFB settings you use as I'm finding adjusting them too hard. I have Leos FFB mod installed.

I tried out two car mods- one downloaded recently, and another I haven't played and installed until recently. Love and lukewarm will be how things go.

BMW 1 Challenge 2006 ( http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=BMW 1 Challenge 2006 ) features the BMW 1-series. This car is pretty forgiving for when I ran a few laps at various courses I have. This is a very nice touring car mod.

Now to the lukewarm mod. As much as I wanted to know about the Argentinian TC2000 series ( http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=TC2000 ), the mod is very poor. The car is ready to slide out and fly off the track when making gentle turns. I even found some error when trying to do a race (actually, a test session). All in all, I was disappointed. Nonetheless, enjoy how these cars look and how nicely-modeled they are. I was still shaking my head about the only Dodge Neon in the mod, which has magenta-colored windows.

I'm looking forward to the "Grand Slam" mod for rFactor featuring the Daytona Prototypes from the 2006 Rolex Sportscar Series ( http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Grand Slam ). Haven't downloaded the beta, though.

rFactor2, anyone? That's what the buzz is going on at virtualr.net. Peep these links:

Apparently, there's some rFactor fan deal for Facebook. Maybe I'll be a fan on Facebook for that. It's very likely my computer's current configuration won't support this newer rFactor, so this may be something I'll pass on until I upgrade or get a better PC.

^ Edit the post to include the video. just put in the data after the "youtube.com/watch?v=" and put it in the space between the {YOUTUBE}{/YOUTUBE} (just replace the braces with brackets, of course) part of the link.

VLN 2005 has been released :) The torrent is really fast. You hve to have a gtr: evolution cd or steam version installed in order to install this mod, apparently.

I downloaded and installed the VLN 2005 mod. I can race by myself in practice, but when I try to run a race with the full field as per the instructions I get a runtime error on the track loading screen. Any ideas?

i got the same error when iran more than 60 cars :/ I guess the game has a problem loading large amounts of cars in single player for some reason. some sort of loading/memory settings issue maybe. try reporting it to the mod developers.

VLN 2005 has been released :)

What is that VLN 2005 really? Some kind of Nürburgring 24 Hours mod? Seems to contain pretty much every single 24 Hour car however. I even saw the Opel Manta with the fox (or something) tail attached to the antenna passing by in that vid!

Give me a super PC and a Logitech G25 now! :scared: :(

yeah, the manta is an interesting looking car :D I've yet to take it for a spin, though. VLN is mixed class racing. They try and keep racing costs down by limiting practices. There are some cars on track w/ less than 200hp and very few mods, and others that are heavily tuned racing machines w/ over 550hp. I have the fanatec porsche wheel, so i feel pressured into driving porches.

Opel Astra OPC coming soon to rFactor. hopefully we get more roadcars w/ decent physics!

Believe me dude this and the supra mod will own big time! Probably on of the best physics ever for roadcars. Becease the corvette physics are made by the same dude and the corvette mod is by far one of the best mod for rfactor, even better then lfs 2 roadcars in my mind. Lol and any roadcar of gt5 can't even touch the corvette c6 physics, let alone the new supra and astra physics.

Hmm i tried this track and i like the graphics. It feels clean compared to other tracks and offcourse the fact that its laser scanned makes it extra special. Really nice project.

Don't know if any of you guys have seen this yet. As a drag racing fan I went crazy!

AusModders are making a drag racing mod for rFactor. Seems like they're only about half way through with the progress, but it looks promising for sure!

The car list so far:
  • 1969 XW Ford falcon
  • 1969 HT Holden
  • 1971 HQ Holden Monaro 2 door
  • 1977 XB Ford Falcon 2 door coupe
  • 1953 Studebaker 'Commander'
  • 2006 BF Ford falcon
  • 1934 Ford 3-window Coupe
  • 1932 Ford 3-window Coupe
  • 1941 Willys Coupe
  • 1960 FB Holden Sedan
  • 1957 Chevrolet Belair
