This is my fear too, was hoping the updates would be out before I was ready to make a purchase... Its not looking good right now though

PCARS will be here soon, and its going to be hard to split time between games! Unless RIDE is fixed, i'm affraid it will be on the backburner for some time to come!
Honestly, pcars won't support my g27 wheel, Ride is all glitchy, GT6 is getting a little stale. I'm kind of over spending a ton of cash on hardware and software just to play a decent racing game. Just feel let down and broke in the end.

Yeah but when you fall off your MV Agusta in RIDE, you get back up again.....

IRL it's not that simple is it.
Or as cheap. (!)

My five bike pack:

1989 Kawazsaki KR1-S
1996 Yamaha YZF Thunderace 1000
1995 Kawasaki Ninja ZX9R
1988 Aprilia AF1 Project 108 Replica
1998 Honda VFR 800

Five of my all-time favourites for styling and conveniently not in TT.

Love the grunty twin on this and the livery is great.

I've just won the third Elite event and now have four CBR900 Blades. So many classic liveries.

Grrrr, I have to vent! The load times, the load times! I tell you, Milestone
are lucky there's not a similar product out there that's quicker to navigate

I like the game once it gets going, but wth?! Ahh better now, thank you all :D

I let my buddy play the game and he asked me if the game ''froze'' (during the time RIDE was loading a Quick Race). I assured him that all was fine, and then the white showroom with the bike appeared.

:D

Yeah, I honestly can't wrap my head around the loading times when going into a race or an overtake challenge, espescially considering how quick Driveclub loads. The only exception is the Time Trial events.

Hmm, seems like loading the AI is taking the time then?

It is down to loading all the ai and data for them, which honestly could have been done during a pre-race practice of some kind. I noticed a massively shorter load time when going into a solo time trial, so it is definitely a badly optimised ai load, but also factor in it is still at v1.00. Things can only get better,,, we hope.

I've reached 70 bikes in my garage now, have tried each bike I own so far but I can't stop riding the BMW HP4 and MV Agusta 1000S. I have been avoiding the championships so far on PC because I'm still not sure whether they have fixed the save problem or not and will most likely leave them all for the last few events so I can revisit the different types of bikes.

As my first bike game I can certainly say it's raised my interest in the two-wheeled machines.

I don't think there's any need to avoid championships on PC, I never had any problems with corrupt saves and any problems that were there are fixed since the patch, well all the stuff that breaks the game anyway.

Thanks, I was still a bit unsure on what had been fixed up to now, I'll give it a go next time I'm playing. Hopefully the money they bring in will allow me to add some more of the expensive bikes to my garage.

Really need those championship events to be fixed, that's 810,0000cr sat unclaimable in the game right now, and they're the only things I haven't done in the offline career mode.

From what I can tell each rider will use a set bike in each team race so I just keep changing to a different rider until they have a decent bike. There seems to be no difference in their riding ability so it just comes down to the bike. There have been a couple of times where I have had to hold up the riders behind my team mate and then just hope they don't fall behind before I finish the race.

Yup, I even put that into my Spreadsheet on googledocs, hopefully it's the same bike for each person, if not I'll delete that sheet.
Still not finished, but if the bike and rider don't match on everyone else's game it's just not worth my bother, so if someone can confirm they are the same I would appreciate it.

On some good news, an update just hit the PS4, reportedly fixing the championship bug!

And here are the PS4 patch release notes:

THE PATCH FOR PS4 is NOW AVAILABLE

Please find below the changelog list:

• Fixed stability issues exiting world tour events.
• Fixed stability issues using electric bikes.
• Fixed savegame corruption using Team Mates.
• Fixed savegame corruption performing World Tour events.
• Fixed reward credits in World Tour events.
• Fixed engine oil behavior.
• Fixed “Aristocrat” trophy un

Strange they fixed the oil bug for PS4 and not on PC.

PC patch came much earlier, so I assume that was just an emergency patch for the save corruption. I suspect more patches for PC will follow.
On consoles they try to get as much in one patch as they can, as they need to pay a fee to Sony/MS per patch.

So, what's the maddest bike you've built or bought? For me it's the Tuono V4. Fully upgraded and on slicks, it pulls wheelies from first to fourth. Love it.

True, but still doesn't look too promising if that's all they fixed for PS4 considering they need to pay a fee for each patch.

I think the maddest bikes I have are the 2012 CBR1000 and k5 GSXR 1000 fully tuned.

,,,,, considering they need to pay a fee for each patch.

An old practice, which as far as I can tell, was abandoned some time ago because it disuaded developers from correcting errors in their games, even when it rendered them completely unplayable. Multiple sources have quoted $40,000 per patch. If this were still the case we would probably never see any patches on a console game again, certainly never from third party developers.

It does seem like an incredibly stupid Idea to charge for patches, but not surprising in the world of greed we live in.

Data corruption patch works, thankfully. Just had the dreaded 34878 ps4 error after finishing a race mid championship, entered back into the game and was greeted with an options screen to resume or abandon the championship. No data loss, only the finish from just before the crash was lost, so just need to do that race again.
Phew, though there may have been a problem there for a moment!
