Ridiculously Overpriced Cars

That. Is. Alot. Of. Tax. :scared:

Wait until you come to Malaysia. As I've said before, an E60 M5 sold in the US costs around US$80k, convert it to my currency it should be around MYR320k OTR. But since Malaysia has got a 300% tax on imported cars, the price somehow jumped to a sky high MYR899k, without insurance and road tax itself. I reckon it would be almost a million.... :crazy:

^ 300% import car tax totally dwarfs our 100% import/gray market car tax in the Philippines!

^ I agree, especially if they're converted into right-hand-drive stallions:

^ This is the made in Las Vegas GT500 Super Snake that's been converted to RHD in Aussieland. The price wasn't posted, but since the GT 5.0 starts at AUS$135K, I firmly believe that this very snake would be almost AUS$250K+!!!! :eek:

-> Heck, I would bring this back to the US!!! It's JDM 'yo! :lol:

Depenfing on the state, LHDs need to be 15 or 30 years+ old. They must be RHD to be road legal

That's a bit misleading though, since they won't be selling any and even if they did, it wouldn't be £150k.

£150k reflects the cost of developing parts especially for a one-off prototype, rather than the cost per unit of a production model.

Also, you can't really complain that something not for sale is overpriced...

C-ZETA -> Thats not new, any one-off models always comes up at a ridiculously high. And in the end, its not for sale...unless it heads into the auction block.

-> Well, I have one that can beat most of y'all:

How could Chhabari possibly inflate the price of the Nano? According to reports coming out New Delhi, DC plans to completely overhaul the budget runabout, replacing all the body panels, brakes, suspension and interior components, along with fitting 20-inch wheels and replacing the 33 horsepower, 624cc engine with a 1.6-liter mill that's able to propel the five-seat hatch to a maximum speed of 124 mph. We figure we could do all of that on a LeMons budget, so either something got lost in translation or we'll have what he's having.

^ Price? Ru10 Million (Rupee) on which that is USD$220,000!!!!

:scared: :yuck: :dunce: :ouch:

Even so, it still sounds ridiculous. :indiff:

Top Gear Australia Magazine in one of their early issues did a test involving a Mustang that apparently cost about AU$500k converted. And just to put that into perspective, that is about $100k more than the RRP for a Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2. Hell, even Corvette ZR1s don't cost that much. They're $350k with the conversion!

Ah yes, the Fiat 500 with a Scuderia paintjob and if I'm correct a 430 Scuderia's handbrake. (Heard it somewhere...) X_X

It has also had a performance boost to 180bhp and some Carbon Fibre wing mirrors, not bad for a 1.4. But it is more expensive than a 300bhp Focus RS or about the same as a 306bhp BMW 135i.

At least it's exclusive....

-> Let me re-iterate that...

What about the 2011 Cadillac Escalade? Sure it's meant to be an SUV for the wannabe gangsters/wankstas, but up to $85 grand for an SUV based on the Chevy Suburban/Tahoe/Avalanche?

:sly:

^ It's also the same case with the Expedition->Navigator & F-150->Blackwood/Mark LT. 👎

Eh seems like it's only the Tahoe-length Escalade that's for the gangstas. :lol: In any case GM had a few of their vehicles parked at the school I'm going to, and there was a black 'Sclade with the worst orange peel I've seen on a production vehicle!

Toyota Supra Turbos.

Can't find one in good condition for less than 25 grand.

Overpriced ever since FNF1

You can definitely find them in great condition for less than 25k. They just probably won't be heavily modded, or, if they are, they'll be automatics.

...aaand a lot cheaper than an Enzo, so how is it overpriced?

a porsche 911 turbo s is quicker to 60 and a enzo got the same top speed as the aventador.so it cost less then a enzo for the same top speed and you paying more then a 911 turbo and it got a slower top speed.

That's a ridiculous stupid argument.

I can argue the Turbo is horrendously overpriced as well if I started bringing in the GT-R & the ZR1.

There's more to performance when you factor in why these cars cost so much.
