NOTES
The ACS4 Sport is an incredible modified M4 by Ac Schnitzer, a german tuner. Very powerful, this car in sport hard is capable of 2:18 at Bathurst with Racing Tune.
Ac Schnitzer propose 2 suspension setup, one semi-lowered (that i call Road), and one full lowered (Racing). The racing have a homemade suspension by AC, so i took original specs ans upgrade it, only for the racing tune. Normally racing mode use sport hard, road mode use confort soft.
I upgrade the engine to have the closest torque and power of the real one. Not a gigantic delivery of power, but that's enough to burn tyres
Transmission and LSD are the original, same for weight (that i corrected from official bmw weight without driver).
Hope you'll enjoy it, fun with both setup, i wait your reviews for my first replica
Okay...I just finished up a mini testing session with my brand new AC Schnitzer ACS4 Sport BMW M4 Replica by
@lBt_33. I drove a handful of laps at both Nurburgring GP/D & Suzuka 2014 and then I finished up with a twirl around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Initial impressions are very positive! 👍 This car packs a lot of power and a lot of low-end torque, which is great.
First things first...You need to exercise some remarkable throttle control with this car, especially on a shorter track. My God, I will have to take this to Tsukuba and see what kind of mischief I can get into there. Forget about slamming your foot to the floor in 2nd gear unless your steering wheel is perfectly straight and/or you're heading downhill. This ACS4 Beemer will just roast the tires (CS rubber was the only compound I tested) through 2nd gear if you mash the pedal. It was even spinning 3rd gear occasionally!
With all this power and torque that comes on right away, a driver like myself benefits greatly. I can leave it in 3rd gear and still power out of corners and the same could be said about 4th gear from time to time. Quite often, I find myself with a chassis that's all unbalanced from my abrupt downshifting and then I need to get the car settled down before I can punch the gas again. This engine is ready to deliver you power through a very wide range of revs, so don't be too worried about being in a gear too tall. Of course, the 7 speed transmission plays a part in that too, the way the gears are spaced...
The suspension felt nice. I only tested the Street setup, but don't let the name fool you. It is plenty stiff for ripping around the track. In fact, there were a few moments along the Nordschleife where I wished the dampening was a little softer, for a street setup, but it wasn't terrible. Just keep both hands on the wheel through the bumpy sections.
That stiffness really helps with the lateral grip in this car. Even with CS tires I felt extremely confident she would hold on high speed turns.
There might be a hint of understeer in this ACS4 Sport BMW, but if so, it is so easy to correct with your right foot. A blip of the throttle can have this car sideways, if you so wish, so take a few laps to get a feel of where that line is. The brakes on this car felt okay at 5/5. I have a feeling, once I spend some more time with this car, I will probably make a slight adjustment to either 6/5 or 5/6...Normally I prefer a tick higher in the rear, but rotation is not a problem with this car.
If you're a fan of BMW's, I highly recommend building this AC Schnitzer ACS4 Sport BMW M4 Replica immediately! 👍 The M4 is an amazing car on it's own, but the ACS4 Sport kicks it up an extra notch in the hooligan department. And how can you not like that big back wing on a BMW?
Well done,
@lBt_33!
