The ENDLESS ADVAN CS-X Lancer Evo X ST-2 replica was built to replicate the Rd 1 Suzuka 500 Km Race in 2008 Super Taikyu Championship ( car #13 ) and 2009 ST-2 Class Champion ( number changed to #3 ).

The Super Taikyu is a super endurance series under ruling or governed/run by STO and JAF. Running for years, the series enjoyed massive following and popularity in Japan. Variety of cars both domestic and foreign origin join together in all out test of pace and endurance with races counted in distance or time ( 500km races and 12 hours for example )

There are classes where cars are divided based on engine size and weight limit. ST-2 is a special class for all wheel drive cars with 2,001 - of 3,500cc engine capacity and a set minimum weight, mainly Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

The car in this replica is based on the Endless Sports Advan #13 Evo X that starts in Rd1 Suzuka 500 Km Race in 2008 Super Taikyu. The car was driven by 2 driver team, Nobuhiro Murata and Kyosuke Mineo. In 2009, another driver join in, Eiji Yamada with car number changed to #3. The #3 car finally became the 2009 Super Taikyu ST-2 Champion.

In the 1st Round 2008 Super Taikyu race at Suzuka 500 Km event, the Endless #13 Evo X set a blistering pace in practice session in Friday 25th April 2008, best 3 consecutive laps recorded :

The next day, 26th April 2008, Saturday qualifying session, determined by the sum of both drivers best lap, the Endless Advan Evo X struggle for better pace and settled for 6th position in ST-2 Class. Nobuhiro Murata was replaced by Hirokazu Suzuki. Nobuhiro Murata drove the other car entrant also run by Endless Sports - FINA Advan BMW M3 ST-3 Class which ranked 3rd.

The best qualifying by CZ4A Evo X was done by car #11 Orleans Evo X Team, with drivers from well known regulars in Best Motoring Video Magazine, "The Professor" Evo Expert Nakaya Akihiko set the quickest Evo X lap time in the event and Kino****a Takayuki posted 2nd best :

The Endless Advan Evo X finished 3rd in class ( ST-2 ) and 7th overall completing 83 laps, 4 laps behind the top finisher.

The #11 Orleans Evo X, once again the quickest Evo X in the race, finished 2nd in class ( ST-2 ) and 4th overall completing 84 laps, 3 laps behind the top finisher.

Nakaya Akihiko set the best lap in the race among ST-2 class cars ( the only Evo breaking into 2:18s range during the race :eek: ), beating the 1st position in ST-2, Sequential ENDLESS Advan Evo IX CT9A driven by Hisashi Wada with 2'19.189 ( best in lap 28 ).

Now, the GT6 replica is set with available information gathered from many sources. The Endless Advan Evo X has between 350-370 PS ( power figure estimation as the Endless car exact power was kept secret ). The Endless Evo X uses HKS and Colt Speed parts for power department ( engine + exhaust ). I have provided 2 sets of power specs, 350PS and 370PS, although I do feel that the Endless Evo X most likely have about 320-330PS due to the very limited range of engine modification allowed in Super Taikyu ST2 class.

For weight and distribution, the Endless Evo X estimated weight was 1390kg based on Japanese Super Taikyu articles and reports. Due to extensive weight diet performed, the distribution has shifted forward slightly at 61/39 from 58/42 stock weight. The ST2 Evo X has safety roll cage and chassis reinforcement with fuel tank at the trunk to provide the best weight balance possible.

Suspension, I used one of the Endless product line, the Zeal Function X Plus ( Soft ) with X Coil Springs rated at 10k front and 8k rear. This is the base setup, while the optional rear rate offered by Zeal is provided as optional suspension setup with higher rear rate at 9.5k.

The base car used for the Endless Evo X is a 5 speed manual GSR, so I adapted the 5 speed ratio using the custom transmission. The stock 5 speed ratio proven to be good performer at Suzuka. The 6th gear has been set to be obsolete.

The S-AWC ( ACD and AYC ) are kept stock ( AYC Controller at 30 and stock torque split controller ), while the other drive train parts like clutch and drive shaft are also kept stock. Brake is also standard as I deemed the stopping power is adequate for sports soft tire used. The brake balance has been increased to provide optimal braking.

Body rigidity improvement has been installed ( mandatory ) as the real car has added roll cage and extensive chassis reinforcement. Aero has been set at 20 ( max ), rear wing height is set at 0 - for 2009 #3 Endless Advan Evo X ( same car with different number and slightly different wing ), you can use -5 or lower to get closer to the real car wing height for #13 2008 Endless Evo X.

The Endless Advan Evo X was tuned and tested at Suzuka. Tire is sports soft, with 370PS power when tested it was capable of 2:16.3xxs lap time with ease. A 2:15s is within reach, similar to the best qualifying lap time during Rd1 Suzuka 500Km 2008 at 2'15.868 by an Evo IX MR CT9A DIXCEL ☆ Shinryo Auto Team . Of course, the 2:16s Evo X 370PS lap is what if scenario, as the best the Evo X can muster at the event qualifying was in 2:17s range. A closer to real life performance would be using the 350PS power spec which will bring closer to 2:17s-2:18s lap time range.

I have provided a replay of test run using the 370 PS spec, base suspension 10k/8k and sports soft tire - offline.

Highly Recommend if using the optional LSD to use the front set 1 and rear set 1 ( high cam ), and RALLIART Gr N gearbox with high speed Final.

I tested at Tsukuba & was running 58s laps with ease. The car drives really nice on the Sports Soft tyres. Because of the bumpy surface i had to make sure i was hitting my braking points as if i was a little late braking the bumps were causing me to run slightly wide. I think this set up might be a little too stiff on the front end for this track so switched to Autumn Ring. It drives perfectly round this track & i couldn't find any problems with it. Pretty consistent lap times. Also tried it on Sports Medium tyres & it works just as well.
Don't really know what else to say other than this is another very good replica & well worth building.
I'm going to give it a test online later this afternoon so will let you know what it drives like. :)
 
For the 5th gear, as it used stock 5 speed ratio from real life, the car will need to hit very close to rev limiter on 4th to get into optimal RPM range on 5th.
I'm still only practicing with AT and don't use it for reviews or tests, so there are situations where MT is not giving me the best results :grumpy:. When I get a chance I'll try it MT and pay attention to the rev's to see how it works out.👍
I am glad the 3/4 BB works, I was a little worried that it might not have enough bite at such low value.
For abs/0 I'm still at the stage of taking the setting that are pretty safe, I have trouble with higher settings due to control issues, I lock up the wheels and there's not much time to gain when that happens. I've assigned the brake to R2 (have it also on the joy stick) to be able to pump it but I'm just not use to it yet.:lol:

Thanks for the driving cues, I think that I have been getting a little better, but I'll wait a while before challenging you on a wet track with abs/0 again :lol:, and glad you can stay :cool: when the heat turns up.👍

I built the replicas based on JUN infos and another car data used for track with mild weight reduction.

Suspension use Endless Zeal Function X Hard Spec with X Coil Springs. Spring rate set at 10k/9k.
Using my experience with Tein SRC BRZ and Amuse GT86 builds, I set the damper with neutral balance in mind. While alignment and ride height uses another test car specs which should give the car distinct feel and handing. I have also provided low camber setup as well as variety damper sets recommended for certain tires. The optional higher ride height is set at 122/124, should be used when needed at bumpy tracks.

Weight set at modest 1176kg, a healthy 50+kg diet easily achievable IRL for track session purposes. The weight distribution has been set using real life corner weight of the car with 1176kg weight. At 56.9 /43.1 distribution, reflected in ballast position.

For power and torque, to reach the same spec, I used extensive power upgrades in GT6, and oil change to achieve very close torque number 35.7kgf-m or 258ft lb.

As the real car only has mild modification, the LSD, transmission, and drivetrain parts are stock. The tire used IRL is Advan Neova AD08R ( soft compound ) with bigger size and contact patch at 255/35/R18, this is similar to Sports Medium in GT6. The replica can still be driven with comfort soft with ease, managing 1:05s at Tsukuba.

I tuned and tested the car both online and offline, Tsukuba, Willow Springs and Red Bull Ring ( both ). With SM tire at Red Bull Ring Short, it can easily lap in 57s range, a very quick time for 470PP car and only suspension tweak.




I'll get back to you on the Endless Evo X later.:) When I got back in from work I just felt like driving something a bit more fun. :eek: Please don't get me wrong! I'm not saying it won't be fun to drive that too :nervous:. But 4WD and me just don't seem to go together like they use to :(

But enough of that. So, I've been meaning to pop in here for a while and try one of your 86 GT replicas but haven't gotten round to it (👎 I know,sorry) When I saw this I had to jump in for a test drive. I love this platform, those guys done good with that joint project. :) Not to mention it just looks soooo good there in those pictures and any excuse to use the Giallo Modena paint is a good one :D

Well, I couldn't help but notice you had a little carrot down there at the foot of the post ;) Oh yes. I saw it alright and like Bugs Bunny there was no stopping me. I was going after that 57 seconds claim at the Red Bull Ring Short Circuit.:P

So did I manage? Erm....Yes actually 👍 I set the car up for both the Base version and the lower camber version and did ten laps on each. On the base version I struggled a little at first, the first corner here always takes me a while to get right in any car (even ones I've tuned there :dopey:). but after a 59 and a couple of 58s, the 57s came a calling. My best was 57.348 and I averaged in the very high 57s for the rest of the 10....well except the last lap. What can I say, I was pushing a little hard and might have accidentally hit a wall a little :embarrassed: (1:01.692 for reference :() at the end of it I think if it wasn't for the first corner I could have got down to the 56s but I just couldn't get it right. The car felt real good, the feel through turns 2,3 and 4 was great. I felt I could get really good fast lines through there and well controlled changes of direction. The car was also quite forgiving on a few of the curbs I happened to knick a few times, 💡 So good in fact I just took to dangling two wheels on them a few times just for fun:sly:

On the lower camber version I got most of that time in the braking zones at turns 1 and 5. I left the ghost in turn 1 and didn't see him again (On the good laps anyway:crazy:) The braking was better in a straight line than the base version but I felt it just lacked the agility through turns 2,3 and 4 that the base version had. I don't suppose you have a best of both alignment spec laying around anywhere do you?:lol:

I've not had a play around with the altenative damper settings you've provided yet but I'll be making a note of them. I drive the BRZ/86 GT & FR-Ss a lot so I'll no doubt find plenty of use for this one too. It goes really well at Brands Hatch and Deep Forest too incidentally on both configurations 👍

Oh, I see, was it possible to hold certain gear by holding the shift up button when using AT ? Maybe that was on another racing game :( For the brakes, I would suggest to apply more brake at the beginning of braking process ( split second full brake ) then pump it until the end.

So, I've been meaning to pop in here for a while and try one of your 86 GT replicas but haven't gotten round to it (👎 I know,sorry) When I saw this I had to jump in for a test drive. I love this platform, those guys done good with that joint project. :) Not to mention it just looks soooo good there in those pictures and any excuse to use the Giallo Modena paint is a good one :D

Well, I couldn't help but notice you had a little carrot down there at the foot of the post ;) Oh yes. I saw it alright and like Bugs Bunny there was no stopping me. I was going after that 57 seconds claim at the Red Bull Ring Short Circuit.:P

So did I manage? Erm....Yes actually 👍 I set the car up for both the Base version and the lower camber version and did ten laps on each. On the base version I struggled a little at first, the first corner here always takes me a while to get right in any car (even ones I've tuned there :dopey:). but after a 59 and a couple of 58s, the 57s came a calling. My best was 57.348 and I averaged in the very high 57s for the rest of the 10....well except the last lap. What can I say, I was pushing a little hard and might have accidentally hit a wall a little :embarrassed: (1:01.692 for reference :() at the end of it I think if it wasn't for the first corner I could have got down to the 56s but I just couldn't get it right. The car felt real good, the feel through turns 2,3 and 4 was great. I felt I could get really good fast lines through there and well controlled changes of direction. The car was also quite forgiving on a few of the curbs I happened to knick a few times, 💡 So good in fact I just took to dangling two wheels on them a few times just for fun:sly:

Then I tried the lower camber version...You know what's coming right;) Lap 1...oh wait. I'll show you:tup:

On the lower camber version I got most of that time in the braking zones at turns 1 and 5. I left the ghost in turn 1 and didn't see him again (On the good laps anyway:crazy:) The braking was better in a straight line than the base version but I felt it just lacked the agility through turns 2,3 and 4 that the base version had. I don't suppose you have a best of both alignment spec laying around anywhere do you?:lol:

I've not had a play around with the altenative damper settings you've provided yet but I'll be making a note of them. I drive the BRZ/86 GT & FR-Ss a lot so I'll no doubt find plenty of use for this one too. It goes really well at Brands Hatch and Deep Forest too incidentally on both configurations 👍

I think you should try all the damper setup combo, one of them might suit well for low camber :D

It's a lot more fun than I gave it credit for. Even with a [ ] brake pedal :lol:

It takes time and effort to get used to, but it's more engaging and fun :P

It sure is 👍. The base camber does do better on the twisty bits in my opinion. the difference was a lot closer on trial mountain

I built the replicas based on JUN infos and another car data used for track with mild weight reduction.

Suspension use Endless Zeal Function X Hard Spec with X Coil Springs. Spring rate set at 10k/9k.
Using my experience with Tein SRC BRZ and Amuse GT86 builds, I set the damper with neutral balance in mind. While alignment and ride height uses another test car specs which should give the car distinct feel and handing. I have also provided low camber setup as well as variety damper sets recommended for certain tires. The optional higher ride height is set at 122/124, should be used when needed at bumpy tracks.

Weight set at modest 1176kg, a healthy 50+kg diet easily achievable IRL for track session purposes. The weight distribution has been set using real life corner weight of the car with 1176kg weight. At 56.9 /43.1 distribution, reflected in ballast position.

For power and torque, to reach the same spec, I used extensive power upgrades in GT6, and oil change to achieve very close torque number 35.7kgf-m or 258ft lb.

As the real car only has mild modification, the LSD, transmission, and drivetrain parts are stock. The tire used IRL is Advan Neova AD08R ( soft compound ) with bigger size and contact patch at 255/35/R18, this is similar to Sports Medium in GT6. The replica can still be driven with comfort soft with ease, managing 1:05s at Tsukuba.

I tuned and tested the car both online and offline, Tsukuba, Willow Springs and Red Bull Ring ( both ). With SM tire at Red Bull Ring Short, it can easily lap in 57s range, a very quick time for 470PP car and only suspension tweak.

National B FR Challange Race 2 :Trial Mountain, 580pp or less, Sports Hard - Winner
All too easy over a lap and a bit. Couldn't see second place after the first tunnel on lap 2 in either run. I tried the base set-up with the latter 1-Way LSD I noticed too. Could hardly tell the difference, good job 👍

a stronger challenge needed me thinks. Hmmm...

Lower Camber set-up
International B Tour of Japan Race 3: Suzuka, 600pp or less, Sports Soft or less - Winner
This was more of a challenge but the little beauty was up to it. Took the lead from the Tommy Kaira coming off First Turn and got enough gap through the Esses to keep in front through Degner and the hairpin. He closed a little so some defensive driving was needed up to 130R, he had to back out of a move up the inside and it was off to victory lane.
I think you should try all the damper setup combo, one of them might suit well for low camber :D

Edit: Forgot to mention. My pit guy forgot to change the tyres back to soft when we got to Japan. Don't worry, we've had words:dopey:

7/2 BB and no ABS, then AYC at stock with a little power bump, keep on trying and win :bowdown: That is a true dedication to beat the AI :D Driving 500+km in the process, must be tiring, but I am sure it was worth it 👍 because you enjoyed it :P The overtaking pics are great too.

SSR5 Test: I blasted around here really fast, it was unstable at first with a bit of oversteer, but I got used to it and hit a 1:00:XXX on Clubman circuit! (My MCR on SH can get a 0:59:XX so quite impressive!)

SSR7 Test: As with the SSR5 test, a bit of overteer in the corners. On the straightaway I maxed out at 190-ish which was a slight problem.

Overall: I like this tune! It's fun to use and I drifted it a bit on SSR5 (It's easy to drift with too) :D

I'd say that only the transmission needs a change for both the higher and lower power. As for the oversteer, it's easily controllable if you go easy on it so preferable then. :cheers:
 
Tuned to Replicate Endless ST-2 Evo X 2008/2009
Sports Soft

The slow steering is more likely due to the heavy nose :), lift the gas a bit while turning and it will turn much quicker :P

For the 5th gear, as it used stock 5 speed ratio from real life, the car will need to hit very close to rev limiter on 4th to get into optimal RPM range on 5th.
I retried it using MT, and tried to follow your driving instructions. For the gear shifting I found that waiting until 8100 rpm on 4th gear gave me a better sound (higher rev) coming into 5th, not sure which is better, if I look at the power chart the full torque kicks in at around 3500 rpm and the full HP kicks in at 5000 rpm, (peak is hp @ 6000 and ft-lb @ 4200) it would suggest that I shift earlier, but when I do it sounds like an old cow out in the pasture, maybe this is better, I don't know. BTW I'm just starting to practice with MT so all advice is good news to me.

I tried as you suggested for the brakes, hit hard than pump, seems to work better, just I kept trying to use the joy stick for pumping instead of the R2 button. (my controller is configured as: L1 = shift down, R1 = shift up, L2 = rear view, R2 = brakes, Left joystick = steering, Right Joystick = gas/up, brake/down)

The car did feel better, lifting off gas while turning helped the steering, it didn't feel like a potato anymore :lol:, it's a lot better than my first impression, but you know me, it takes time for me to adapt to new things :rolleyes:. I got my time down to 2:17.907 and this is with so many shifting and braking mistakes that I figure I left at least .500 second out there. Not my favorite, but mostly because I still can't handle no aids well.

Keep at it ( the MT driving ), it gives much more control, having a gear lower or higher can affect greatly in mid corner ( balance of the car ). The left uphill after the esses on the Suzuka can be taken better with MT by holding at certain gear :)

For rev limit shift, although the peak power/torque at lower rev, the engine can still give good pull near 8000rpm ( wonders of turbo + gearing leverage ) :P

For lifting the throttle to steer ( throttle steer ), it's more like a rhythm, lift steer, full gas, lift steer, full gas, the quicker ( the shorter the time you lift ) the better. Pro drivers often do this in split seconds mid corner too when need more front grip or corrections on the line taken ( overtaking for example )

For the Corvette, I will send you a nice document shortly :)

:lol: It's semi premium technically :sly: I have 3 different reported weight distribution, from 40/60 to 37/63. All are on curb weight, the most accurate I think is 40/60 from Porsche/RUF books with same weight figure as Sport Auto tests back in the 80's :D But most other sims uses either 38/62 or 37/63, all of them have the weight wrong ( too light ), which is strange. Even Assetto Corsa has the weight wrong , but very close.
 
Settings used:
  • No Aids, No ABS, Brake Balance: 6/6
  • Specs unchanged (470 PP)
  • Tyres - Sports: Soft


    • Power-Assisted: Off,



    • Controller Steering Sensitivity: 0,



    • Force Feedback Max. Torque: 2,



    • Force Feedback Sensitivity: 8.
