RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

No offense to RKM, but it's extremely unlikely for them to produce a tune better than the people who live and breathe NASCAR day to day, many of which have shared setups here on GTPlanet. Are you implying that there are only 2 NASCAR tunes found via search?

Two Drunk guys, a bottle of rum and a Enzo thank you for this Tune. It has served us well in the money feast of a Seasonal.

thats what im saying

2 out of 18?
The first 3 of a single thread I found all run 41's solo, I don't see the need to check the next 15.

can they also run 35 laps on r3 tires with a ds3?

that was another important part of the tune

50 actually... I doubt the tunes are more of an issue than the DS3.
Tire wear is mostly effected by steering input. A DS3 limits your ability to minimize said input. This creates inconsistencies and scrubs speed every time you have to move from the optimal angle.

i've seen one guy that CLAIMS he did 50 laps

i know krautfed and he is trustworthy i don't know the other guy screen name USS something and i've only seen that one say that he made it 50 laps and those USS guys are also the guys people were saying that they were using rain tires

man just let me get an answer from the people i am asking the question too
if i wanted a tune from you i would have asked you. so unless you can do what im wanting out of the tune im asking for, chill out, find another thread to interrupt and let me get a response from RKM since they are nice enough to do a tune for a review

not saying your not nice
your every tune that exists..............is like the bible of gt5 threads. I absolutely can't wait till you get it back up..when will that be? btw pm me and let me know. I want to leave this thread alone with the bickering.

I don't want to go back and forth with you in this thread no offense

Right. Then you obviously are oblivious to what has been happening here. RKM is closed. The tuners are 'inactive' in the sense that Roj is away and RJ is unable to tune. MFT has one, though I haven't tried it…

MFT has one, though I haven't tried it…

I have the setup for it on my NASCAR. It was designed for the Indy American Championship grind...before it was obsoleted by all the new Seasonals. And it is actually very good on Indy. Just turn all the aids off, sensitivity to 0 (it feels easier for me actually). They also have a similar tune for the Ford GT II that I also have on my car. Apparently it can also win Like the Wind too

im talking about DAYTONA not indy

my bad i didn't know that about RKM since there thread is on the first page anyway

just out of curiosity why is RJ unable to tune

We figured our 50th car should be something a bit special...

So here's our joint venture Enzo.

RJ's Thoughts: Well, most cars start gobbling corners the instant you add race softs... But when I got my “Dubai Enzo” from MiniMarco and first tried it at the Ring... Well... Despite it being fairly light with some front downforce, it REFUSED to turn despite the insanely sticky tires. Knowing I had my work cut out for me, I left the car alone and set it on the backburner. Well, a bit later, Roj got his hands on another Enzo which wound up fully tuned as well. He messed with it for a while and got it drivable; I then tossed the settings on my car, tweaked for a while, sent him the settings and had him check them. This is the result.

Roj’s Thoughts: The Enzo is a difficult one to tune. It has so many flaws. Bad brakes, poor turning circle and a light front end simply can’t be helped. So it comes to no surprise that it gave RJ a hard time at the beginning. However, eager to see us conquer the Enzo, Kyaw very kindly donated an Enzo to us, raising our Enzo count to 2. Now we could both work on the Enzo at the same time, turning this into a true joint tune. We applied both our tuning styles into this Enzo and merged them together, to transform this Enzo into something you can truly enjoy. Thus making it perfect for our 50th release.

I added 12kg of ballast in the -50 position to this tune and its perfect! actually drivable! And of course prefect for the 500k a lap at la sarthe :)

This is Deathscythe. Deathscythe doesn’t care about you. Deathscythe doesn’t care about your problems. Deathscythe doesn’t care about your health. All Deathscythe cares about is slaughtering everything, including you.

Only thing odd is my last 2 gear ratios dont go that high, and my horse only goes to 632? Mind helping out?

Looking for a tune on this car for the 500 pp races. racing soft tires. as far as parts go, there are only so many parts changes you can make to get the car to 500 pp, anything else will put it over the 500 pp mark. just want a competitive car for the "Ring". Thanks for your help guys!

Lol yea, not just 'Oh the car rules!!!' Just say around 2 paragraphs in terms of length. Seems reasonable when you look at ours (me, uMadson, DigitalBaka, racer(insertlotsofnumbershere), etc.)

One last thing; RJ and Roj are unable to continue tuning at the moment.

RJ's PS3 died. I recommend you give him one:dunce:

Roj's out on Vacation:dopey:

Your request is denied.

Thanks for the heads up guys! Will post a full, detailed, two paragraph review!
Request denied.....bummer

If you do that, you'll get it done around August. In theory.

A one liner will never get a request car done unless said one liner is accompanied by money into one of our paypals.

What details are you looking for in a review? Please excuse my dumbassness, but I haven't been asked to do review of a tune before. I am kinda new, so Im still learning the pros/cons of the forum.....thnx!

Never actually done a review before so it may be basic but I'll give it a go.

A (first attempt) review of the Lotus 111R (Juliet)
Back when the "extreme" seasonals came out, you know the Lotus at Tsukuba, Fiat 500 & the Scooby.
I had managed to do both the Fiat & the Scooby event gold but didn't even try the Lotus one, even though Tsukuba is my favourite track & possibly my best.
I just HATE the Lotus cars with a passion. They slide far too often for me, I like grip.
I still haven't done the Top Gear Lotus event because I just can't control the little things.
I'd always spin out under braking & cornering & well everywhere to be honest. I don't know what it is but its one of the few cars I refuse to drive.

I went looking for a tune hoping someone on GTP could make the car handle like a.. Well a car on rubber not ice.
I tried a few tunes which improved the car a little bit but a little bit wasn't enough.
I found RKM & started re-tuning the Lotus to their settings. It was like a completely different car. I couldn't believe that I was actually in a Lotus still.
It felt amazing, I had grip. I could brake, fling the car in & floor it on the exit.
I actually had fun in a Lotus. Needless to say I got gold on the first attempt with this tune quite easily & it has become one of my top 10 cars in the game. I can't think of a way to improve this car.

After the experience with the Lotus RKM have actually been the first tuners I go to when looking for a new fun/fast/great tune. I have found that alot of their tunes are amazing. The NSX helped me get a podium in an online race against LMP/Group C cars so that shows you how good these tunes are (I was in a stealth NSX)
I've just noticed that they have an RE Amemiya FD3S tune (my favourite car) so I'll have to try it

GTP Name: DC9990
PSN Name: GTP_DC9990
Your Car: Toyota Sprinter (AE86) Trueno or Mazda RX7
Sending Your Own Car? Yes
Tuning Request: I'd like a really grippy car, tonnes of traction with a short gear ratio (Acceleration + grip + traction = happy DC) that can take corners at high speeds & stays stable. Basically something like a grippy touge monster :)

Just talk about what the car is doing when the tune is being used. Does the car oversteer? Does it run wide in the corners? does it grip to the road or does it slither about like it's on ice? And you can take a look at other people's review to see how they've done it (don't look at mine, mine often involve far too much excessive typing and words)

The FD has been done, and the FC is still being tuned by RJ but his PS3 burnt so he can finish it only if he has a fresh PS3 to continue business.

Oh, and just to let you know, if your AE86 is a SS version, Roj has done that for me, so you could try and adapt the tune for your one. One thing though, it was designed around 0 ABS, so I'm not sure how it'll handle with a higher BB and ABS set at 1.

Dear RKM Motorsport:

I am doing an article on GT Planet called "A Comparison Among Z's" and I was wondering if you would like me to use the tunes you have available for all types of the Nissan Fairlady that you have tunes for. Its totally optional if you want me to or not, and if needed, I can send you a bit of what I actually think before posting it in the article.

Thanks!
