Hi Kyle & Roj..
After driving some of your other tunes I had a go with your Scooby STi S400 (Spec C '05) today.
All the other cars I've tested from you have been excellent (Esprit, Vette C5, NSX, R34gtr) but I found this Scooby to be a bit different. It had the 'trademark' RKM turn in, which was awesome, as per usual, but I found when I lifted off the brakes and carried on turning in, the car seemed to 'snap' a little and turn in very sharply, causing the rear to start swinging out.
I double checked the settings and everything was as per your tune (I bought a new car specifically for this, same with the other tunes I tried) and dialled it in exactly.
I tried it on a few different tracks (Suzuka, Cape Ring and Trial Mountain), I use a DS3 and changed my steering sensitivity back to default (0) - I usually use maximum sensitivity (7). I was in an online lobby, but as none of my friends were available I wasn't able to test this in a 'race', only free run (grip reduction set to low).
I then did a back to back test against my Scooby I use in our race series and found that I wasn't having this problem with my car, yet both cars had the same power, weight and tyres, but obviously different settings.
Here are the settings I used (car was tuned for online racing, 530pp sports soft tyres no ballast and power limiter set to 100%, car isn't setup for outright grip and laptime, I set it up for consistent laps over approximate 20 miles race distance).
1152kgs (fully lightened)
400bhp
58.5kg/fm
530pp
Aero = FR 0 - RR - 5
NO chassis stiffnening on my car
LSD:
FR / RR
10 / 15
25 / 12
50 / 10
Suspension
FR / RR
-17 / -20
15.5 / 9.9
3 / 5
8 / 6
2 / 4
2.0 / 1.5
-0.12 / -0.02
Brakes:
Fr = 5 & Rr = 9
I tend to have a fairly 'aggressive' throttle and brake style - i.e. NAIL IT.
I tried my car in free run, race distance (20 miles) at Suzuka, Cape Ring and Trail Mountain and found it ran fairly competitive and consistent laps for other 530pp road cars, no power limiter (always 100%), no ballast. The tyre wear was slightly more at the front than the rears, at the end of 20 miles on these tracks I used around 25% front tyres and hardly any rears at all.
The settings are totally different to yours, I don't think this is the 'best' setup ever, but it works for me (might need 'tweaking' as I only tried this on Free Run, not a race).
Just wondered what you guys thought of it compared to your S400 tune.
If you hate it, no worries, I can take it on the chin, I'm used to my Race Series co-host hurling abuse at me about my setups when he tries them!!!!
Best regards
H
