Left foot braking in RWD/AWD cars can stabilize an otherwise loose car under braking, and do the opposite to a FWD car.
So it's extremely useful.
Left finger braking is essential with my little Rally Pug. If you're not on the throttle and/or the brake, you're not in control of the car. You don't lift off to make it through a corner, you dab the brakes. This shifts the weight forward and brings the nose back in line, plus it keeps the revs up. Revs that you frankly can't allow to drop with this car.
That being said, there aren't many other cars I do this with...
