Well, hello sailor..!! :sly:

Ye gads, that thing's ugly... :yuck:

A review of the RKM SRT8 Challenger:

Notice: This car is equipped with a 426-cubic inch engine (and other special equipment). This car is intended for use in supervised acceleration trials and is not for highway or general passenger car use. - This was what the glovebox warning sticker read on a HEMI-equipped '66 Charger. If RKM slapped the same warning on their SRT8, I'm pretty sure nobody would heed it. :P

My SRT8 is a detuned street version of the RKM car. The former is pumps out 438 bhp (broken-in only) and weighs 1412 kg (sadly, with stage 3 weight reduction), initially painted with Brilliant Black Pearl Clearcoat then repainted to Matte Black. The only aftermarket body kit applied on it was the front splitter. The raised lip spoiler doesn't look like OEM so it was omitted. The car retained the glossy black striping on the hood and the rest of the body is matte. It looks handsome too, if I may say so. :D

Roj comes up with incredible suspension settings and the same will be said for the SRT8. It's a big and heavy car, no doubt, but the damper settings maintain great control of body roll over curbs and undulations on the track. Show it a challenging sequences of corners (i.e. Suzuka) and the car pitches and yaws, especially under braking. In faster, sweeping turns, the steering has a slight preference for understeer. I guess that's the optimal setup for the suspension to provide optimum control and at the same time, keeping the effects of weight transfer in check. If the suspension were tuned to either extreme, the SRT8 would be a handful to drive smoothly. Gladly it isn't.

For a car whose maximum torque is available at 5K rpm, traction is excellent. Under hard acceleration, the SRT8 does not peel out, kudos to the excellent LSD. Traction is maintained through 3rd and 4th gear corners without any slippage. However lifting off the throttle is necessary to tuck the rear into the turn because at that point, weight transfer becomes a problem. It's either the SRT8 employs a slow-in/fast-out or hugging tight racing lines while carrying a decent amount of speed. Before weight transfer makes its presence known in mid-corner, the SRT8 is grippy. And my car doesn't have a rear spoiler to boot.

The RKM SRT8 makes short work of its classic and modern muscle car brethren so I entered it in the 5-lap R246 tuning car race. The car's able to hold the lead until lap 4 when the Amuse S2000 twin turbo zips past it and opens a 6.2 second gap to the finish. Though the SRT8 finished 2nd, its overall package was effective to keep much more powerful and lighter cars at bay for a couple of laps until they manage to catch up. Great job, RKM! It lost but it lost to 1 one of the best tuner cars in GT5. :)

I'm very much impressed how the SRT8 turned out. It's no RKM ZR1. In spite of its unique character, the car is proof that traction, suspension travel, and torque can achieve an ideal balance...IN A MUSCLE CAR. :D

A review of the RKM SRT8 Challenger:
Thanks for reviewing the SRT8! It's big power demanded some strange settings, but overall I'm glad it came together well in the end and I see it's still in good working order in Spec 2.And yeah, muscle cars can do corners, sod the stereotypes! :D:tup:

It's a shame it's now in the depths of the archives although it will be making a comeback as well as the Touring Car version! :D
What da……an Prius wif 230hp?!?!?? And where's the R32-R34 tunes? I was more expecting some of them.

Yeah, it boggled my mind too. It also slaughtered an R35 in the Polyphony Digital Cup. :D

R32, R33 and R34 will be done by RJ and Dragonthing. I've got dibs on the CR-Z, Prius, SRT8 and the EvoX. The rest are going to be done by my two comrades. :P

I may be stabbed by my pass self for saying this, but I might just like this Prius TC…

I know the RX7 will have RJ's name all over it, but what about the MX5 and Impreza?

I love the Prius TC. :D

RJ and Dragonthing respectively.

Hey Roj, will we be seeing a rival for Deathscythe with the introduction of that SRT/8 TC? Dodge vs Chevy in the TC/RM Showdown!

For all the North American players here is a code for a Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth Model. Car was previously unavailable to North American players.

Code - RD69-FJN9-5N6Q Expires Jan 30 2012

I know this isn't correct thread for this post but thought I would share it here as you guys have given me plenty of great tunes to use

Wow. Between this and the NSX stealth car we here in North America are getting hooked up.

That's not a sailor, that's The Stig!

That's not the Stig, that's blatantly his Camp Cousin..!!:D

I think it looks quite good with its X2010-esque styling. :dopey:

I ..err ..yeah. As long as it goes like poke, and you drive on bumper cam, I guess it makes no difference. And as it's the rear end that make my eyes water, there's plenty of incentive to be at the front of the pack..!! :mischievous:

Oh look at me here, making everyone wait for their Skyline and Impreza tunes :sly: still no news on when I might get the DLC...maybe tomorrow I shall borrow some funds :dopey: but today I am being taken to the Angel for the biggest lunch ever...

Anyway, as Roj said, I have the R32, R34 and the Impreza touring cars to tune up, and the R35 to butcher completely into a setup that only works when driving in reverse

 Just copy/paste your R35 Sneezy tune onto the R35 TC, it'll just about work! :D

If the SRT8 TC has the pace, sure.
Come at me bro.

That's very nice of you. I can't use the code since I have a UK disc but I already got the car from the Signature Edition anyway. :)👍

It's still The Stig! And I use chase cam and I love it. :D
Roj, you have a very dirty mind
I do. :dopey:

Fanboi Express TC go go!

Yay! And I think I've come across something you'll love. It's an Integra. It has more power than the CTR Turbo, weighs a bit less and has a bloody mental party piece.

Is it the race car with the giant yellow foglights?

Is it the race car with the giant yellow foglights?

Yup. It's the Integra Touring car. 3.5k wing gives it 20/70 downforce  Add a CTR Turbo diff into the mix for better feel and end up with a car that can lap TM in 1:32.667 on SS tyres with a noob at the wheel while being very easy to drive.

And that car shall be my next request tune! I want you to turn it into the fastest SS tyres ITR tune you've made. :D

I thought I'm post here from the bathroom at the Angel Inn to let you all know I have a very special BMW on it's way, and maybe within the next couple of days I shall also get a few of my extremely rare tuners set up :D I'll leave you all to guess which ones...

Extremely rare?

A mere $20 on the TRIAL Celica.
A miniscule $5 on the VW Nardo Concept.
A humongous $50000 on the Mine's R34 standard edition.

That's all I'd bet for, really.

I hope the rear downforce can be set really low after that. 20/70 on an FF is understeer heaven. :ill: I went 20/20 on both my TC's and it works a treat.

I believe this is the first time anyone has commented in this thread while on the bog. Congrats.

Trial Celica? Pah! Pah, good sir...I speak more of the (as yet) never seen before Opera Performance S2000! And I will hopefully soon be in reciept of a Nismo R32, which deserves a <3 all it's own...

Well, it actually isn't that bad online. The front's quite sharp at low speeds, I've yet to try it at high speeds though.

Ah…nope, I'm afraid not. I do it all the time :D
