RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

Are you guys comprising a priority list of DLC TC cars to be tuned?

The 4hr Nurb enduro is my next event before the payout percentage is cancelled. Looking for a car that is predictable, guaranteed to win 'cuz it's fast as snot, and sticks like a cat running on carpeted floors ;)

^^
Coca cola X2010/X2011. End. Now, to enjoy the 4 hours in a car, you don't want a car that's fast as bleeding hell, and nor do you want too much grip cuz it gets boring quick. I'd take…the NSX-R 3rd Anniversary for a close race, or the Castrol Supra if I wanted to walk it.

HKS CT230R then. Before, when stock, it used to be probably the strongest car in arm wrestling to make you understeer. Now, with Spec II, it's a perfect car from stock. Of course, you could use the CT230RR here for even better effect, but a) it's not updated for Spec II yet, b) I haven't tried it yet so don't know how it does (I've always used AdrenaTunes superb tune), c) RJ is probably too lazy to update it and d) RJ will now complain at me now for saying that.

If you want a big challenge though, I wanna see you try in the Giulia TZ2.

Um…C-ZETA, my dear and brutally brilliant CT230RR is fine even after Spec II. The lift off oversteer is slightly toned down, but that's about it. Only issue? Top speed is still a rather wet 186mph.

Romeo was a blast the first time I ran this race, although he's yet to get a spec 2 check.

And I never did say thanks to RJ for that fantastic car.

Thanks RJ!

I'm not breaking out the X1 for this. I don't like that car all that much. It's far too twitchy to be enjoyable. The Castrol Supra is a sound choice I usually break out the Yellow Hat GTR. Super GT/JGTC are always a great choice!

Then there is Kaz's GTR 24N. I'll look at the HKS. I'd kinda want to use one of the new PDTC cars though.

If you want a PDTC car, I'd give the Challenger TC tune a go. Fairly high power and front/rear downforce coupled with RH tyres should be enough to get you the win. Just be careful though, it's still a muscle car at heart.

I wouldn't know because I haven't tried it yet though. And the CT230R is only a 5-speed, with a 2 litre engine, so torque is in short supply and therefore it's probably for the best if it only does 300kmh. AdrenaTunes does 180 tops and I can still win a GT All Stars race with it.

I'd kinda want to use one of the new PDTC cars though.

RX-7 would be a good call, if you can avoid the faster corner understeer. If you are up for a challenge, daan almost won the race with the Prius, I've tested the Roadster (and failed) and I'm thinking of trying the Evo X myself soon.

Hello & welcome to my first double review...
Spoon FD2 This is the first time I have EVER brought a ff car on gt5 for the simple reason of understeer. However when I saw the thumbnail image for this I had to try it out.
First thoughts...
This isn't so bad to be honest, less understeer than I imagined, it looks cool and it can win races stock with SS tires! I am using this car for the the civic seasonal event (DUH!:dunce:) the most fun event is deep forest raceway, shame it lasts almost a minute longer than the rest:indiff:.
The car could do a reasonable 1:31:317 around Deep Forest.

RKM Tuning...
Oh My God!!! This is amazing! How can it be this fun and this good? The car is responsive and eager, yes it has more bhp and less weight but still that's no excuse for the ai to lose by 45 seconds when I am drifting in my civic!!!http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m598/Porta555/DeepForestCIVIC08.jpg(Check the photos upto four) The time set was a tire smoking 1:26:421

Civic Type R
If the FD2 was the anti christ to stubborn understeer the stock civic 1997 is the overlord for it! I could not be bothered to even attempt a lap, but if I had to guess I would say a 1:42:500?

RKM Tuning...
Hmmm... It seems to be faster than the FD2 but it actually isn't. It seems to think it is a robot setting the exact same laptimes every lap. Whilst this is good for predictablity it is a curse as there is small room for error and it is boring! I'm sorry to say this but it just isn't aggresive or fun enough to be liked by me. The time set was a fast but dull 1:28:729:odd:

Hi RoJ,

I have a question about the S13 speed star, as i tested it just yesterday. It feels so different from spec 1 ONLINE. I play online all the time and all your setups works great even tough u say u test ur works on offline environment.

The car heavily understeers entering corners, and fishtailing during exit acceleration. Whereas before spec 2 came out, it is a very well balanced car, I loved it. This is online.

I never expect online and offline to be this much different before. But after I tested it, it was very uncompetitive.

Can u kindly clarify this?

Thanks for your time RoJ, I appreciate it

Cheers
The online physics have changed a lot and since I've retweaked the car, it's bound to handle completely differently online. It's just an unfortunate side effect really.
RKM has itself a real gem of a sleeper in the ATR. Personally, I feel it's a better car than RJ's Atenza. :D
Thanks for the review! :D I enjoyed tuning this one, it brought me back to the old times when sticking to 280bhp was enough for an FF. Totally agreed about the wing too, if there was a small lip spoiler, I'd have it on the rear to help give it a Type R look. Shame we can't change wheels on standards, but anyway yeah, glad you liked the car! :D:tup:
Roj, will the settings for the Emperor's guard be transferable to the lowly peon, pre-Spec 2 RKM Evo X or are the 2 distinct from each other? :)
Our Evo X is tuned using the AYC. The TC version has traditional LSD's, so I wouldn't say the settings would be as effective if you transfer the TC settings to the normal X.

Nope. We each called dibs on 3 to 4 TC cars each when the DLC was announced. My 4 is the 4 currently released. RJ's and Dragonthing's DLC tunes will come once they actually get the DLC.

EvoX TC then. It's rapid, yet predictable and handles great. :D Also I tuned it for RH tyres, so tyre wear won't be as much of a problem as it can be.

I used the Cusco Impreza GT300 car for mine. Whilst it isn't as powerful or fast as the others in the race it stays glued to the road and once you are ahead it can easily get you a full minute ahead before you need to pit. You just gotta draft like a mofo for the first half lap at most. I found with RH tyres that it would do 4 laps per set of tyres keeping them decent, and 8 laps before you should need to refuel safely...

Hey Roj, can you tell me one thing? Does the Prius TC sound any better than the road one?

And can you give us a list of your customer cars? You also still need to tune my pink Airtrek/Galant thing. :D

And skip to 6:03. Yes, shot out of the dark but I'm bored.

So…typically EV then.

*rolling start…3…2…1…GO!*………Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…………*brakes for corner*……eeeeeeerrrrrrkkkkkkkkk!!!!!*accelerates, or tries to, anyway*…hhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……………*etc*

Quite sure mine be Passionate Pink my dear Onboy :D

And I'm glad I am loved! And all because I am tuning the Emperor XL Mumwagon

:D Ok! Let's have this, Roj vs Sapphire! The RKM civil war with the weapon being the Airtrek!

Oh, and don't do the 'my dear Onboy' thing, it:
1. Reminds me of something a close someone used to say to me
2. It makes you look like a grandma/aunt

I find it quite hilarious that a noise like that could be used on a car like that, that also happens to be somewhat fast (faster than the CR-Z and Roadster in my first test of it). Just a drone, then it gets killed when braking, and all the while you're beating up some top class touring cars! Hah.

Roj has agreed to let me take over the Airtrek stuff :D

And I shall try my best not to, sweetums...
