RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

Did it just get a yellow light of death or did the hard drive fry? 'cause I can fix yellow light problem.
I think it was the HDD or GPU that fried. RJ was complaining about the game taking ages to load and sometimes locking up during load screens before it completely went.
If someone has a propper drift setup for BMW M5 '08, please share with me.

Thanks in advance.

I was going to suggest the drift settings depot but it seems you've found that already and got what you was looking for. 👍

Hope your day is going good VTiRoj.

I would like to say something about a trans he made for me. This is somewhat a review of his Transmission work.
I did a 2:00.126 in the Lexus IS-F RM on the Monza track with shicanes. I almost did a 1:59. It does shift into 7th as I get to the end of the first straight. I love it. I couldn't get out of the mid to high 1:21's before he did the trans for me.
"Very Awesome Job VTiRoj" very nice trans work.

Thank you! I've never done that to a car before so it was fun to experiment with it. Glad it worked well for you. :D:tup:

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a use for drift tunes in GT5? Cars slide much easier in GT5 than GT4.

I know with some cars, all you have to do is put comfort tyres on and boost it to the moon and it'll be a drift monster, but some cars need shorter gears to match the powerband, a tighter LSD and a suspension overhaul to make them into a decent drifter. I'd put the M5 into the first category, but it never hurts to have it dialed in right too.

Tune a Challenger SRT8 to 600hp, throw some comfort tires and you got yourself a drift car

sounds like the HDD. Can't fix that unfortunately. 👎

I could try her up and put she up as a special last minute entry in the Challenger shootout...
Only if you want to but I was mainly joking around. She probably can't hang with the other two because she is a big girl. Think as I published the tune she is still well over stock weight.:lol:

The only one that has reduced weight is RKM, because the one from RRT, the Petty oen is stock weight lol

Well here's the thing... It never completely went, it just got to the point where I couldn't play for more than 5 minutes at a time. I'm now ~70 miles away from it so there isn't a lot to do... Sides maybe go to my cousin's and try my hand at Forza drag tuning.

Just finished building the Deathscythe. Even with my rubbish driving, I managed a 6:47.800 on the Nurburgring. Love this car, it's a great companion to the Challenger GTS. Of the two, I still prefer the looks of the Challenger, but the handling from the Camaro is superior.

One thing I really appreciate about this tune is the spring rates and damping. The Ring is a very bumpy track, both in this game and IRL. The Camaro seems to handle this track extremely well with this setup. I tested this with a DS3 (no room for a wheel in my tiny apartment...) and it responds very well to steering with the throttle.

I also built the MX-5 SC. This is now my go-to car for all of the sub 500PP Seasonal events. I used different wheels and a slightly different colour scheme, but this car is as good as it gets. Superb handling, phenomenal power delivery from the tiny 1.6 and excellent cornering ability.

Keep up the great work, your tunes rock!

Yea, that's definitely the HDD. YLOD wouldn't even let your PS3 turn on, let alone start a game. My first-gen console finally went after almost 6 years of abuse. Got YLOD three times, fixed each time. Then the last time when I went in, I broke a ribbon cable lock, and now it works, but doesn't read discs. Le sigh...

Thank you! :)

I tune using a DS3 so I try and make my tunes work for everyone. Even the powerhouses like the Camaro and Challenger can be friendly to everyone and still provide a challenge when you push closer to the limits. The MX-5 is a favourite of mine, especially with the supercharger giving it a good boot up the bum down the straights. 👍

I'm still alive! D:<

Also I figured out what I would like from reviewing the Emperor IV. That little FC of mine is the most faithful and long-running companion in my garage. It's been demoted to just drifting since then, but I feel like that car could be sprung back to life and have more than that single purpose.

I would like to see a tune for the premium FC3S in hopes that I have more than one reason for mine to see the track again.

I actually have some FC3S settings somewhere. Do you have any preferred specs for tyres and horsepower?

Not really. My current FC is maxed out in the power aspect. Not sure if I want it to stay that way. I'm fond of Dreamy Ghost's feel. It hits corners hard and leaves them clean.

Speaking of that tune, THAT is what a NSX should be. If there was any doubt that the NSX was a street-legal god of circuit racing, Dreamy Ghost would blow it out the door.

I'll try and replicate the feel of the Dreamy Ghost with an FC and get back to you. 👍

I just gave this tune a go at the 500pp Cape Ring seasonal and loved it. I was backing it in on a lot of the corners and getting some nice drifts out of it. 👍

The only problem I had with the car was when it landed after the jump from the spiral. The nose hits the tarmac and bounces back into the air making the next right hander dicey.

Fantastic. I want to note that I already had a lot of NSXs before coming across RKM. Now I have more uniquely tuned NSX Type-Rs than the amount of different Skylines that were put into this game. :s

Hey Roj did you see that NascarManiaco99 had finished his Challenger Challenge?

"Isabella" was only a half second behind your GTS despite hauling around an extra 600+kg.:odd::D

Glad you liked it! Not sure how to deal with the landing behavior though, perhaps a rear wing would keep the car level in air?

Yeah I saw. :P Nicely done. :P

Yo VTiRoj.

I haven't tried out any of your tunes for a while. I decided to take your Aventador tune for a spin.

To be quite honest I'm not a fan of 4WD cars in general, especially those in the high hp range. Understeer seems to be a common fate for these batch of cars, which isn't helped by a curiously vague sense of speed. I'd like to congratulate you on your efforts with the Aventador though - it's a fresh alternative that puts in a great effort to combat these issues.
First of all the gearing is perfectly paced for general driving. The wide first gear provides a staggering acceleration, while the crucial 2nd and 3rd gears are well equipped for the manoeuvring of most middle speed corners. The steering is direct and surprisingly predictable with all the power, and I sense the desperate effort you've put in to make the car as agile as possible while keeping the car glued to the road (you canslightly get the rear out during middle speeds if you push really hard on the exit). Saying this though, I would have appreciated some lift-off oversteer if it was possible to make the under steering on the exits more manageable. As a consequence of the evident tuning you have done to make the car more agile, high speed deceleration can be unstable. This causes problems on certain territories of the racing environment - I noticed a few corners on Suzuka very challenging to brake into when pushing the car very hard.

Overall I think you have done excellent at taming some of the issues that are noticeable in all cars of this type. I wouldn't say however that the car is suited to my driving style, but there is still fun to be had for the average driver awaiting a challenge. Like always a tune is only as good as the car itself, and you have managed to squeeze much more out of the car than what I had predicted. Good work! 👍

8/10
