RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

Dragonthing, next time you post a tune without images, just leave the links in anyway. Saves you editing them in later. :P

And now you can release your 550BHP Eclipse GT. :D

Maybe tonight...just maybe...although some say it has so much torque that it can slow down time, so possibly expect it by next week :D when I'm on a little holiday :sly:

Some say that I have been waiting for a long time for it.... :sly:

Round 3, Event 4: Variations of Corners at Cape Ring.
Time: 0:17.757 ranked at 1456th in the world, 0:00.281 behind the 1st time. Done with a DS3.
Wait, what?!

So thanks to BolverkGTM getting me into the F40-tuning mood, there is now an RKM F40 in up on share on my profile too. Keeping with the spirit of BolverkGTM's F40, my F40 is just a really fun car to drive and is really easy to drive, except I've turned up the fun dial to 11. It drifts with child-friendly ease and isn't as eager to throw you into a wall like a normal F40 is. I can finally say I am happy with an F40 of mine. :D

Now since my F40 is the product of messing around with BolverkGTM's, which is running Praiano settings, I don't consider the tune to be completely mine and therefore half of the credit has to go to BolverkGTM and Praiano. :)

LFA-GT Review

The LFA is a type of car that for me, when tuned it doesn't matter how fast it is round a track, No it only matters how you get around it. Here the LFA is the meaning of a knife edge. Treat it well as it says in the description and you can look forward to a car that does what you ask it to do. No under steer and surprisingly minimal amounts of over steer. It feels well planted and connected to the road, and if you crash it, it was probably because you flew into the corner expecting it to be an X2011 or something like that.

When you can push this car to it's very edge and control it the car changes entirely, going from a car that is stuck to the road cruising to a car that can hug the apex and nail the corners at maximum pace. However this is highly unlikely to happen. Why? Because you can't constantly control this car. The same corner for 5 laps becomes a new adventure. And that's why I love it. The car is a split personality, one side is a calm and easy to drive thing with the other being a bloody maniac intent on bringing your spine and the Armco into a close relationship. If you could have a spoiler for this car it would make it a dream come true, but you can't so a 10/10 for me as the tune utilises all the mechanical grip of the car to make an excellent and terrifying ride.

Hey Roj, keep the F40 available for a while longer. I want more time with it and I can't quite play around with it more until later tomorrow. I'm too tired tonight... :(

Thanks for the review! :D:tup: The LFA is one of those cars that tuning can only help so much with. It really does need a big rear wing to unlock the actual potential of the car. Glad you enjoyed the car's split-personality! That's one of the things that usually puts people off the car.

It'll be up for a while so don't worry. đź‘Ť

I still love how it took 3 well-known tuners and 1 test driver to achieve that. I think it's more work than the Enzo. The F40 is by far the more enjoyable car though. :D

Agreed. I also love the F40 far more because I grew up around one. :dopey:

You know, all this talk of this supposedly amazing F40 is kinda pointless right? If there's no tune for us, you're only sharing half the joy. so Roj, post the tune and put the F40 to bed, eh? Just give credit where credit is due and things should be fine.

Good idea. We can at least have the RKM tune posted and get it over with. Praiano's tune is already on his page and the Clueless setup is...half there on their page. It's Praiano's tune with adjusted spring rates, dampers, camber, and toe angle.

Agreed. I also love the F40 far more because my Dad had one when I was a toddler. :D
Lucky!

I'm sharing my version of the F40 (505bhp) and Bolverk is sharing his (553bhp was it?) so you can go and try it yourself. :P

But yeah I will post it up eventually. :P

I'd just like to point out that my new 650BHP, 1320kg 4WD Nismo Skyline GT-R S-Tune is capable of laptimes of 7 minutes flat in the rain, at night and on Sports Soft tires with a huge spin at Bergwerk.... :D

And that's relevant to the F40 discussion in...what way?

The fact that its way faster....

In that case, it's a big faceplam/you don't say meme to you.

It's a 650hp GTR, do you really think that an old relic like the F40 can keep up with it? The GTR has a better power band, more usable power, gets the power down better, has 100 more hp, 4WD and a host of other advantages of the F40 which was always a driver > lap time car, do you honestly think comparing the two was a smart idea?

It was a shameless, harmless plug for a truly epic tune that I want people to test and tell me what they think of it (its on share ATM). :D
