Now that we're prep'ing for all that Wham! dodging we'll be doing soon, we should also focus on the reason that particular song exists....the birth of Yoda...no...wait.........CHRISTMAS!!!one!!.

More because I'm looking to steal your ideas than anything else; what are you buying for your friends or relatives? What are you wishing for from the fat bloke in a red doublet and unshaven face? How will you spend that special day celebrated by half of the world?

Me, I'm a bit stuck for ideas. I'll be trying to get a new iPhone for Mrs Shem because despite my negativity towards it she's made up her mind. I'm sure I'll find something else nice for her too.

My little sister will be a tough one, though, some cool toys like a Nerf gun or some PlayDoh should keep her content.

Parents and whatnot will probably be a last minute dash like always, and for myself I really don't want anything, but a nice block of cheese and a bottle of Jameson's wouldn't be frowned upon (I'm allowing myself a drink at Christmas). It's all down to my to my mates bar/ restaurant where we've convinced him to cater for the family and our 20 guests. Bring it on!

So, how about it?

Haven't got much of a clue this year. Kids choose their own presents pretty much over the year so they're not so bad. I'm thinking of buying Mrs AT a holiday somewhere, perhaps with a gig in the middle of someone she likes. Those sort of gifts always go down well.

I haven't got a clue what I want. Racing rig perhaps... or a Lotus Elise. :sly:

I did the holiday gift for the missus a few years back and it went down like a dream.

Would buying an Elise be a gift to yourself as a track day car like you mentioned after the Le Sarthe trip?

Possibly. Need to see how a few things pan out financially before I commit to a gift to myself like that.

I've been bought a bike, the green military off-roader I posted in the Infield a few weeks back, but I'm not sure I really want it, which sounds really ungrateful. See, I love cycling which would mean I wouldn't much use a motorcycle and it would be a waste on me, though I could use it as a gift to another relative who would appreciate it more, perhaps my cousin who's just started uni.

Haven't got a clue, there's nothing I really want. I've considered going retro and grabbing a DS and Pokemon for the first time in years but it may just be a passing fancy, we'll see

Well I'd really like some money to buy some guitar bits but I got an Electro-Acoustic a few months back so I need to pay my old man back before I can think about spending money.

Tom, there's no need to double post. :P

I'm not really after anything. My dad is getting me a laptop, so that is my Christmas and birthday present combined from my parents. Otherwise, some books always goes down well. For others, I usually get something when I see it, an impulse present buyer if you will.

^ I was really hoping Other Matty would be online so he could post here

I can't really think of anything big. Probably some PS3 Kontrol Freeks, or an upgrade to my laptop.

Otherwise, some books always goes down well.

I've just ordered a book called Snow Crash about...well...it hasn't arrived yet. If it's any good I'll let you know, you might want to check it out.

I don't really have any ideas for what I want. One is a cool t-shirt I've had my eyes on for a while that can only be ordered online. Another is maybe a wheel for GT5, but that may be too expensive. Other then those, I think I may just demand money from everyone.

My parents seem keen on me getting a drum kit, but I don't really want one, because it will be all I get. And considering my drum love was only temporary, I think I should wait it out, and see if I get interested again. But it's going to be hard to tell them, because my brother will be angry (because he's wanting a drummer), and my dad will be angry because he always forgets that I'm a singer/composer because I'm not always pulling him over to show him what I'm doing. So telling them this may be hard and I'll probably get yelled at for it.

I'd honestly much rather get more CD's (from Avantasia, Edguy and Queensrÿche), a die cast model or two and maybe some more shirts (I don't have many that I actually wear). So pretty much, I don't want anything productive, but I want to get things I actually want.

Whoa there gents, remember, this time of year is for giving, not just getting, and also celebrating the birth of Joshua for those religious amongst us and getting wild drunk and eating a load of fattening food for those of us not bound by faith.

I already have a list on Amazon of crap I intend to buy for others, as with every other year I'm probably going to go over what I intend to spend on people.

As for me, all I want is a free meal, which I will get on Christmas Eve.:P

Probably going to get a nice pair of mechanics gloves for my Dad (any suggestions brand wise?). Would also REALLY like to get him the Nikon D600 (or D500, can't remember) he's been wanting for a few years now but refuses to go out and buy for himself. That unfortunately is a little out of my budget though.
Dunno about my Mom, we'll have to see about that. Perhaps a hug?
As for myself, I'd like Assesto Corsa if its out in time and maybe a pCARS subscription. We just finished a new room in our house, so I've just moved into a new one. Hoping for some artwork to go on the walls (who needs furniture). The Porsche factory Targa Florio poster from 1970 is on my list.

Girlfriend and I bought each other tickets to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert and a trip to Yosemite National Park in December. 👍

Giving? Pfft, I have the excuse of being a teenager for being selfish.

Though people are generally happier if I just give them a card and money rather than a gift... Saves them a bit of time and effort trying to sell the gift afterwards.

Now that sounds like a great gift. 👍

I've always found giving out store vouchers is much easier than buying an actual gift. If a relative is hard to buy for but they own an iDevice then an iTunes gift card will do, same works for a PSN card, Ikea card, Nike Store card or whatever.

I had an aunt who used to donate to a donkey sanctuary for me each year and the sanctuary would send me little notes from a donkey with a picture. I swear I never knew donkeys could write.

You didn't know that Donkeys could write? They can, but they only do it once a year, in the mall on Christmas day. Even then, they do it at ridiculous hours of the morning just so no one sees their special talents. You might have to check them out.

Does this mean I have to stalk my family to know if they do have things or go places that you can get gift vouchers for? If so, I'll be back in a few hours.

It doesn't necessary mean stalking them, though if that would make you happy then do so, just notice what they're using or what they aren't and try to fill the gap.

Dad moaning about the coffee table being off balance? Buy him some DIY store vouchers so he can buy a sander to level the legs and then shut the Hell up about his wonky table.

RE: Donkeys. I'm sure they have many talents, possible writing with their mouths, they write somehow, I've received their letters. But what I can't fathom i, without opposable thumbs how do they take the pen lid off? Oh, maybe it's a clicky one...

I spoke to my little sister, 2 and a half, last night and she want angry birds and chocolate. I'm not sure if she wants the game or real angry birds but chocolate I can manage.

Also settled on buying my step mother and my father USB keyboard vacuum cleaners as they always eat on their laptops. Now they have new ones I think it's time they kept them clean; the old ones were filthy!

I chose out a cycling suit (no, it's not skin tight Lycra) for myself for them to buy me but I asked them to order it now as I need it for work.

Still a long way to go...

If donkeys can write, monkeys definitely can, too. I have to admit: So far I didn`t received letters from either of them... :(

I decided to gift 50% of my world domination to my brother - on one condition: he has to gift me 50% of his immortality.
This should be good enough for both of us to enjoy a sexy, wealthy time for the rest of our half-immortal life.

Beside that - a brandnew PS3 game will do, too.

Half immortal? Oxymoron of the week there, fella!

Tat would be like being half dead, wait......ZOMBIES!!!!
