I just stocked my garadge with RX-7 LMs ... I'll be joining you fellas later this week (: I've picked up black, red, and silver ones. They did a pretty good job modeling them in GT3 - I was impressed.

I've also got a red, black and silver one :D

I love watching the silver RX7 doing a bit of drifting at Trial Mountain in the opening intro movie!

Hey Rypien,
Got a better time in my RX-7 LM:
59.889" RX-7 LM - 932hp - GT3
Please post my new time.
Thanks man, :D
Barry

Good to see the best looking car in GT3 on the track! ;) I'll update your time right now buddy. Getting into the sub 1'00.xxx second mark with the RX7 LM is a fine feat

I've only recently improved my time fractionally and i'm very happy with my RX7LM's new set up. It differs quite a bit from the one posted just up above, and i'm really happy with it and my time of 58.174. Feel free to give it a try and see what you think (i'm really trying to get into the 57.xxx)

NOTE - this setup is based heavily on one that was sent to me by STONEWOLF and most of the credit definately has to go to Him.

i 'll have a run in the rx7 lm in the next few days with your settings rypien not tried this car at midfield yet :D i'll post my times when i'm happy with my run ;) laters

btw : congrats on the new addition rypien ;) a little gt head in the making for sure :D and good luck in the final race of torc , cya later mate

hope you copied the right settings mrP (i was editing in the new ones when you posted  ).

Thanks for the kind words about the new family addition too ;)

You are sure flying in the TORC races, and with the quality of driver running in that series you should be proud of your efforts.

I'm not in the 58" mark, I'm just barely in the 59" mark: 59.889"
I am going to run some more though.

Thanks for the set-up info. I'll try and get mine too. I just noticed that you are running the softest tires... I am a bonehead, I'm pretty sure that I have the super slicks on it. from running races that have tire wear. There is hope... I bet those tires are good for a full second, maybe. :D
Later

Mate i stuffed up with my previous post   ;)

I've redone your time submission and also make sure that you check out my set up as i have changed that as well (stupid me put in my old one  ) The new set up is very different.

Someone should sumbit this threat to Mazda as well. It could be part of the "Save The Seven" campaign. http://savetheseven.rotarynews.com/

Submit what THREAT? ;)

And this is one of the coolest threaDs on here. Rypien, this thread actually got me posting on GTPlanet. I had been a "registered user" for several months but didn't really get into posting until I saw this thread.
BTW, Congrats on the baby. I've got two boys and they are best thing in the world. When I get home from work and they are just so freakin' excited to see me, it's awesome. Best feeling in the world.

:P I've really enjoyed this thread (and its 'little' brother that started it all over at the GTF). I'm currently scribbling down all of the Mazda set ups that i can find on the web (kind of a database of Mazda set ups that i can put in a folder for future referance!). So far i've got around 20 or so great set ups for the rotary screamers in GT3.

So if any of you guys have not posted your set ups yet, please feel free to put them here so that i can add them to my personal collection ;)

BTW - i'd give my left testicle to save the 7!  :D

Why the LEFT one?!?!?!?!

Seriously though, great idea!!
I'll try and get my setups in the next day or two.

Can't wait to seethem mate. :)

BTW - when using the set up for my Mazda RX7, i find the first sweeping right hander (after the main straight) good to take with this gearing. Brake a little while changind down to 4th gear at the end of the straight, and when you have got yourself all lined up for a smooth corner drop it back into 3rd for some real 'turbo' action as the car hits its sweetspot in the powerband and boosts through and out of the corner!

The left nut goes to the Shelby Cobra. I'm a huge rotary fan but I'm not giving up body parts for something I can just import (:

I just went and won a RX7LM last night :) so.. watch out ! i'll be hitting the track with it soon 😈

Great to see you back for some 'rotary' action Lotus350 ;)

And guys, i've been thinking about the 'nut' situation and i've decided to keep the nuts while still campaining for the continuation of the Mazda Rotary :D  :P

BTW - don't forget to post your set ups as well :)

I tried your setup Rypien, and it was real good. Much better than mine actually. I changed a few things back, so I kinda ran a hybrid setup between yours and mine. I'll get my setup recorded on here, I forgot to write it down.
Anyway, I have a new fast lap:
59.026" RX-7 LM - 979hp - GT3

I can smell a 58.xxx, I think tonight is the night. :D

Glad that you found something that helped in my set up mate :)

The RX7LM is one bueatiful car, and i'm sure that you will break into the 58.xxx's soon. Can't wait to see you set up.

I've been checking out the record section for FR cars at Racing Line and it seems to be dominated by Castrol Supras. I've managed to pilot my RX7LM into the top 10 at Midfield and i am sure that one of you guys can really push the high powered JGTC Supras off thier perch!

Long Live the RX7!!!! :D

Hey Rypien , a couple more times to add to the list for you here :)

I tried your fully modded RX-7 lm set up and it did not work for me in the modded , but worked a treat for me in the one with just an oil change :P

Car - RX-7 lm @600bhp
Time - 1'03.728

I can and will improve this time though :D

Had a go in the RX-8 @ 515bhp as well and could only manage a poor 1'09.171

Will try some more out soon 😈

Great time in the 600hp RX7 LM. I really enjoy the car in this trim and hp, and myself and Vanishingpoint piloted two of these beasts in an old APLMS series a while back under the guise of 'BEERGUT RACING'. :D The set up has changed a fair bit since then, and i'm still fiddling here and there (when i'm not trying to get my 1032hp RuF RGT to handle properly!). Your time is very good, and compared to some that i have seen over at the House of GT where i was discussing the 600hp RX7 LM it is very fast indeed. :)

BTW - i'd love to see your RX8 set up when you have finished thrashing the 'begebbas' out of it!

Hey Rypien i posted this at the times but i'll put it here too.RX-7 LM (979 hp) 57.792.I could have saved myself some time if i had looked at your setup, but i came up with something similar to yours. The car is very tough to setup, tight, loose, tight, etc.

Hey IforceV8, i've only just replied to your post at the times ;) Great time and one to be very proud of thats for sure, a 57 second run is really flying! I'd love to see your final set up for future referance.

I've also been given permission to include some great times for the 600hp RX7 LM from some quality drivers from the 'House of GT'. I posted a thread over there a while ago asking for some advice and tips for setting up the car and a few of the guys were kind enough to have some runs which i will include here with thier blessings (thanks guys  ).

Even though this thread has been going for ages, i'm still excited about getting more and more 'rotary' times and set ups. :D

Anyways, i'm off to see if i can catch up to the two new 57 second 979hp RX7's that are nipping on the heels of the 787B's

BTW - if anyone knows some good GT2 players who would be interested in having a go with some of GT2's finest rotaries then please feel free to point them in this direction. thanks.

Hey Rypien, what a great 'Open Day' you have going here, can't believe I haven't managed to poke my head in here before today!
I'll open my account though with this run -

Car - Mazda 787 (964 BHP)
Best Lap -
T1 - 16:582
T2 - 33.997
Finish Line - 55.974

Back Later if I get a chance with an improvement and maybe some times in the RX7 LM.

Cheers, ;)

Do I need to post settings with times that are posted or is that at my discretion? :D
