and thanks p.h. for pushing me back to 10th right away. hell, i'm happy to have worked myself into being only one spot behind you. i also(gt3times)thought i would mention(gt3times)some other gt3 sites that people might not(gt3times)have heard of yet, like gt3times, for instance.

a bit more approachable today ;) i fell out of wrong side of bed yesterday and was one grumpy mother f...... , mr cool now :shades: :D

i'm happy to hear it bud. i myself am completely soused but it's only 12:17 across the pond so i have to hold it together till atleast 2. getting old, you know.

O.K, first attempt using the Mazda RX-7 LM Racecar and My best efforts so far netted a 58.180. Saved the replay but I'll have an improvement on this in the next day or so. Cheers ;) :burnout:

whoa, more great competitors hitting the track in mazdas finest

Max E - glad to see your face here at the GT Planet. ;) . Feel free to pull up a seat in the 'club 55' bar and have a brew or two (or three or four ...... :D )

Prancing Horse - Another 'club 55' member, well done mate :) . Your low 58.xxx RX7 LM time is a real flyer as well. I spent ages gettin my low 58.xxx time and thought that it was about as good as a RX7 LM gets (and then hypersport and IforceV8 smashed into the 57.xxx second bracket  ). As far as posting your set ups is concerned ..... its not a 'must do' but i do try and encourage people to be open and share thier set ups so that others can give them a go and try and improve thier own ones ;) . I've got a real interest in Rotary set ups and i really enjoy taking other peoples babies for a spin to see how they go. Also, just wondering where in oz do you reside?

Anyways guys, i'd better go and update the timesheet

58'975 for my preliminary post but this car is a bit of an enigma to me. smooth some places, cumbersome others. i think with an ideal setup it could go pretty deep into the 57's maybe a 56 where eagles dare.

Yeah weren't you just ! :P

Nice to see you made it over here Max , welcome :)

No problems Rypien ;) , I'll post my set-up with the next lot of (hopefully) improvements. Its been a while since I've attempted the old 'fast lap' dashes, quite enjoying it! :D
I'm down in Ballarat which is about an Hour away from Melbourne.
Hey Max E, I gotta agree with you on that one, this RX-7 LM is bloody quick, easy low 57's in it, but 56's? Why not, lets find out.

Cheers :burnout:

I'd be very suprised to see anyone get into the 56.xxx's. Low 58's and high 57's are pretty awesome as it is and i could not even imagine a 56 second run  Not to say that it could not be done, but looking at most record sites around the place 57.xxx's seem to to the best that people are managing in the JGTC Supras, and the RX7 LM is classed by many to be at a similar pegging with the Toyota flyer. Looking forward to seeing how you guys go in your efforts though ;)

It would be good to see the RX7 pip the Supras :D

Might take me a while to post an update for this or anything for that matter Rypien as I just lost 7 months of GT3 game data :(
So, I'll take it on the chin and grin and bear while I search for a solution. If the Data can't be retreaved I'll be starting from scratch again goddammit!!!

what's your setup p.h.? i'd like to compare and see where i'm losing time. the 58 i ran was out of charachter with the tune i had. it's just not right at all but i squeezed the best possible run out of it on luck. most other times i'm atleast a second off that. i want to see where i'm losing this time.

Hello all i'm a member at gt3times just like that crzy nutter max e. :D Just noticed I am a member here and i'll prolly hop in on this challenge.

Hey Max E, no worries mate, give me a day or two to organise my new game save, and I'll set up an RX7 LM again and give you the stats, have a fair idea but my memory ain't that good!
BTW, I still have the replay of the run and once someone figures out how to convert between Harder Drive / X-Port replays you can have that also. alternatively, I will be buying an X-port in the very near future and I'll send it to you then. :burnout:

Cheers ;)

Sorry to hear about your data Prancing Horse :( Look forward to seeing your set up when you get back on your GT3 feet ;)

paulkleiner, glad to have you hear at midfield. Feel free to take as many rotaries for a spin as you like. :)

I had a bit of a session last night but could not improve on my 58.174. I'm really trying to squeeze into the 57.xxx's but it will take alot of laps!

hhhmmmm...something is wrong here

Full Blown 787B- 1:00.601

Arcade 787B- 1:03.460

Which of the posted settings would best fit a slow racer who is using AT, likes stability and no understeer?

ssssh pk. i don't want them thinking i'm odd. just want to fit in real fine and dandy around here with no fanfare.

it's alright horse, i don't need your ghost, i need your crew chief :) i also deeply mourn your loss and hope you get back into the swing of things a.s.a.p.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I've just finished a fantastic session of GT3. I did some laps for the EZGT season that i'm currently running in and then decided to hit Midfield for some laps. I felt like trying something different and so i fired up the fully modified 787B and instead of using my settings i tried Jayjitsu's. I slightly lenghtened 5th gear but apart from that they are his settings. I did 134.4km's in total in this session and had quite a few laps into the 55 second mark ..... 55.864 ........55.860 ...... 55.750 ...... 55.736 ........ and then .......

55.343! :D

I could not beleive how much his settings suited my style of driving. I was consistently in front of my old ghost 55.5xx on the first half of the track but always seemed to falter after the first tunnel. I finally got it all together and hit my new PB and it felt bloody awesome.

nice one rypien ;) top time there mate takes you to 2nd place excellent  i think i better get the 787 outta the garage and get my ass to midfield pronto , time to give it some welly :D laters

lets put it this way if some of the big boys who run in torc like morelli and jmr ran this i'd expect a very low 54.xxx maybe even an unbelievable 53 .xxx

mmmmmm ......... a low 54 at best i'd imagne, but i honestly think that a 53.xxx would be next to impossible. Mabey someone should invite some of the TORC giants to Midfield for some 787B action

I've just added a small new section on the timesheet which will show some good 'rotary' times that i've seen at various records sites. As the drivers in question have not officailly entered this rotary open day, i have just put them into thier own list so that people can admire thier times. The times in question were found at -

Racing Lines

GT Times

Syacyo's Infinite Office (Japanese site)
http://hpcgi2.nifty.com/syacyo/gt/tt_master.cgi?action=search2&corse=0-4

One of the drivers from this Japanese site (whos name i could not read) has a 787B time of 54.758!

So, if any of you guys know of any 'records' sites that have some great rotary times then please point me in that direction and i'll add them to our 'unofficial' list.

cheers

Nice Run there Rypien!!!......Just got a fresh garage loaded onto my card with all the right machinery, so I'll be back in the thick of it soon :P , hey Max E, my crew chiefs on his way over :burnout: but I told him to keep his trap shut :smilewink

Hope to see you hooning around the track soon mate. My new time took bloody ages, and i had a fair few more runs today and was consistently .1 to .2 in front of it at the first sector split but could not hold it together for the entire lap. Its sort of frustrating and fun at the same time when you see you PB ghost in the rear view mirror and he starts to get bigger and bigger until you find yourself half way in his cockpit and then eating his sparks! :)

Rypien , you have inspired me to try and get into the 55 club again :D i'm gonna get onto it today :)
