I don't think that's quite true - Germany and the German government acknowledge their history pretty much fully. If Germany had spent decades denying any of this then Russia bringing it up would be a problem but it hasn't. Germany also holds its hands up and admits occupying Czechia, Poland, Lithuania et al was wrong.

Russia bringing this up makes Russia and Russia alone look stupid.
When I was saying they don't want to be reminded of this, I meant in a way they don't want to celebrate it like Russia is doing in some weird stupid fashion.

I guess Russia wants to sweep under the rug that August 23th marks not just the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, but also the Baltic Way, when 2 million people joined hands and formed a human chain across three baltic states to demonstrate against USSR rule. This incredible demonstration of civil courage and the coincidence with the signing date of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact inspired the Black Ribbon Day, an international day of remembrance for victims of totalitarian regimes.

Russia continues to deny the secret protocol of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact that split Europe between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union and dismisses the Black Ribbon Day entirely.

EDIT: Some pictures of the Baltic Way

Ukrainian MoD Reznik - ~9000 Ukrainian soldiers dead. Documented casualties of RF - 5000+ dead, rumours saying around 50.000.

Meanwhile, RF bombing Zaporozhskaya power plant, which could lead to radiation poisoning of russian agricultural regions.
Reports that the Antonovsky Bridge and the barge bridge beside it are rendered useless. Russian troops are now trapped there.

edit

They're now recruiting cannon fodder in Moscow too. @Rage Racer, are you ready to fight against the Nazis?

Antonovsky Bridge isn't operable for ~ month. Ferry isnt effective and Kahovskaya dam under fire control of Ukraine.
Russian troops are now trapped there.
Soldiers still could run out, but all military equipment here is doomed.

Anyway, its not full-on tank assault, don't expect any significant news soon.

According to this guy (whoever it is), there is some “compelling” evidence that the UK planned and executed the assassination of Dugin’s daughter. The evidence are:

1. Biden didn’t say it was the US, so we can rule them out.

2. The woman accused of planting the bomb was driving a Mini.

Case closed 😂

Isn't this a Russian news host who's been saying a lot of silly propaganda since the war started?

I guess so. But then again, that can probably be said about a lot of Russian news hosts, at least those who got to keep their job and their relative freedom.

He is mem-generator here, at least since 2014. Biggest hits are "radioactive ash" and "coincidence? I don't think so". My guess is, his channel biggest audience is 80+ old ladies with dementia. He, basically, could say anything and no one would care. Somewhat sane audience watching 1 channel where level of cringe is slightly lesser.

Political demonstrations are illegal in Saint Petersburg because protesters could spread Covid, cholera or plague, according to Rospotrebnadzor.

But the Mini's really a BMW these days, so it must have really been the Germans!!

Jeez, show a little respect at least.

Mikhail Gorbachev was a peace maker and a world leader of the highest order, taking massive personal risks and making enormous sacrifices in the name of world peace and for the prosperity, freedom and rights of millions of people, not to mention his efforts towards nuclear disarmament and ending the Cold War without a shot being fired.

At a time when the world stands on the precipice of nuclear war at the behest of thugs and criminals - and not only in Russia, but the world over - his loss is especially poignant, and the world is a poorer place without the likes of Mikhail Gorbachev.
