Russian Invasion of Ukraine

Actually, I'm pretty sure this was about downriver Pontoon bridges and halting either Ukrainian supplies or Ukrainian movement. If that river is impassable from Kryvyi to Kherson, that would be really helpful for Russia, considering the zone they are putting the most effort to holding is east of that river. If I'm right, it would suggest that Russia is trying to creatively conserve resources (IE instead of blowing up individual pontoon bridges, taking them all out with a few missile strikes up river). Could be a smart move.
This.

So is Putin planning to defenestrate himself then?

"Truly remarkable. The contested areas have overwhelmingly voted to join Russia, with 150% of the population affirming the decision"
On this:

Trying to stress that they will "willingly join" Russia.

Without the translation I thought the halo meant the warhawk died in the war he became conscripted for.

That's probably also accurate soon enough.

I hope he's right, because before annexing Crimea and starting the war in Donbas in 2014, Russian TV channel showed a video about "soldiers without markings on invisible fronts". Soldiers without markings repelling down helicopters and stuff... and then the "green men" appeared in Crimea and "it's not us" in Donbas.

Before the "Special Military Operation" in Ukraine, they updated documents on how to organize mass graves. Standards on size, depth...

My guess is that Russia hopes that Ukraine will fear nuclear retaliation if it attacks "sovereign" Russia, which is why Russia is trying to annex those portions of Ukraine ASAP, but I also think that would be a bluff on Russia's part - they aren't even using their expensive conventional weapons with any kind of regularity it appears. I don't think Ukraine will blink honestly, they want their territory back, they are highly motivated and well supplied, and Russia has in the very least lost a ton of momentum if not the balance all together.

I don't think the Russian people will be kind to Putin in the end, or at least I hope not. His ego has made Russia an embarrassment and a Pariah.

Yeap, mobilization. From what we know so far, for everyone in reserve(basically any man in age 18-60). Will be interesting.

I think saying you will annex the Donbas areas and shoot nukes at Ukraine if they try to take them back before you've even held the sham elections is saying the quiet part out loud.

Putin didn't post his speech yesterday as was planned, because today is a better day to do this, today is...

It's not just Donbas, it's everything they managed to occupy to this point. They don't even try to hide anymore... "everything goes according to plan"
They are desperately trying to keep what they stole.

I wonder if our resident Zorc is overjoyed with this announcement. I'll bet his gaming skills will serve him well when facing a battle hardened Ukraine.
What actually happend to him? Is he banned or just don't post here anymore?

Is it still forbidden to mention the war in Russia? I mean, how can you be mobilised if there’s no war?
Still specop. Somehow. You know Nazis, United States Department of State, bird infested with bioweapons.

Probably won't be back unless there's an excuse to lionise a Russian success of some sort.
