whats funny about that is, you can see the side mirrors of your opponents. :) but they dont leave an option for it in external view. I bet developers just forgot to put it in. I doubt it would kill the framerate if you have a decent pc. I use incar view now since in the full version some servers will force it.

I'm so happy i finally finnished my 1st LFS skin. I just started using photoshop a few days ago. :)

I'm gonna download this demo tomorrow or Wed's, I have never hooked my DFP up the the PC before though so is it a simple set up or is it complicated for a non-technical guy like me.

not really, all ya gotta do is download the 46 drivers, set the lock to 720, turn spring and centering spring all the way down, and dampening down to a low leve, if any at all. Thats basicly it. :) LFS has good hardware detection also.

I've got two wheels plugged in, and i'm using pedal on my old driving force as clutch. :)

In the full version, skins will load automaticly.

I can't believe S2 running well on my PC
coz I looked at the S2 screens ...
I asked myself should I upgrade my graphic card
after I played it ... the graphic is similar to S1
my pc can handle it no problem
one good thing is the transparent window
my card is a sucky Geforce 4 MX ... a Geforce 2 clone
playing NFS with no transparent windows
I am so suprise S2 works on my card perfectly
I think I will get S2 License when it come out

This game sucks for me.
Terrible frame rate.... and it won't recognize my Thrustmaster gamepad for the life of me... I know it is all my fault though.

7 and 8 are for signalling left and right. Pretty usefull when racing with friends. I dont use em though.

what do you guys think of the new patch? i think it makes the game feel much more realistic. I'm actually faster but i have to do much more corrective steering work. Drifting is a bit harder too. :) 👍

I love the patch, car seems less loose than before to me, with the same setup. Slides also seems easier to catch and steering input feels more direct. Did my first 1:35 with the GT today, and a 1:29.55 with the turbo. :dopey: It's weird because now I have to brake a bit earlier on the first corner, but I gained a lot of time in the first sector.

Force feedback doesn't seem to be included in the update, but I feel a difference, it's a bit stronger and more responsive. (I set it at 200% with a Logitech DF)

My only gripe, if there has to be one, is that now I can't view replays of the previous version of S2 Demo.

a week ago i couldnt do under 1:38. Today i finally Broke into the 1:36's with GTi
:)

BTw i'm using Driving force pro 150% strength. Awsome racing action. I can finally compete with the fast people. But its the slow people that are a danger on the road now. :indiff:

I'm using the DFP but I'm stuck doing 1'40s I can drive the car but I can't get it set to corner as fast as others, I lose about 2 seconds on the first corner and the one after the long straight. Also if I back off the accelerator while turning I have to stop turning to reapply it sometimes.

the limits of the gti are pretty easy to reach. as you know from gt4, the trick is to commit the car to the correct race line and that all depends on how fast your going and where weight is shifted.

For the 1st turn with GTi, I get on the breaks about 75m You want to get on the breaks but dont use too much pressure or you will lock up.
Here's an SPR you can watch as an example with my not so perfect raceline or techniques. I was burned out from too much racing/drifting when i made it.

the last turn is really hard to attack. you want to go to the far right like you see me doing, and throw the car in without breaking traction and enter at about 62mph. from there you want to be going 65mph by the time you reach the rumble strip on the right side. Its key to get on WOT as soon as possible with the weak cars. and screwing up the last turn will kill your time as you can see in my replay :indiff:

Thanks for the advice 👍. That last corner is tricky but I can do it, I have pulled off good laps for me getting that right and kept up with others round it and down the start straight. I think I need to work on the handling a bit more so I can attack the first and second corners faster and ofcourse practice more but it's frustrating racing online and finding 5 or 6 people lapping 4 or 5 seconds faster than you and you don't know what to do with the car to improve thoes times.

Small configuration tricks to be faster:

- Disable throttle cut on upshift
- Enable throttle blip on downshift (unless you're VERY good at it, it's faster)
- Use RHD, since the track turns more to the right, it keeps the car more planted in turns, especially with the GTI.
- Don't forget to separate throttle and brake axis in windows.

Did a 1.35:71 with the GT yesterday :D

Here is my best replay so far, not for lap times but good battles, it's a little long (10 laps), but I had a nice battle on lap 3-4 with a faster guy, and an awesome last lap, with a close photo-finish. (.03s :P ) I'm driving the orange/white car (Carl).

Replays are awesome from above, with camera placed a little above or behind with an angle. Choose the car you want to follow (tab), then switch to user view with Shift-U, press tab or v to get the aerial view, then move/tilt camera with right/left click.

does me using left hand drive put me at a big disadvantage? i am American so right hand drive feels weird :P I've heard right hand has advantage on blackwood before, but by how much?
\

i also use incar view.

Not sure yet, only tried it very late last night, I was a bit tired. But there's at least 2-3 tenths to get this way, someone I know of shaved two tenths off his pb on the first try in a GTI. For me, the view isn't an issue since I use a GT4-like bumper cam... perhahps you can play with the in car camera position to compensate?

yeah, i'd been using righthand drive, but center bumper cam when i was playing s1, and maybe thats why i could get in the 1:34's with GTi in S1...
But I heard servers will have the choice to force incar view in the full version of S2 so i switched back when the s2 demo was released..

I will have to get use to it too then :indiff: so far I hate that view.

that view feels pretty realistic to me. In real life there is a slight blindspot. Not as much as ingame because of perrifferal vision. but there is still a bit of one.

If it wasn't for the lack of peripheral vision, I'd probably like it... (or if I had 3 monitors and an uber video-card :P )

I'll practice a bit with this view tonight.

Yes you can, I you need to go into the control options and map it to a key, I have it as up on the d-pad on my DFP.

Some guy named Mach1 came in. I asked if it was you... you playing tricks again. Jarrett?!

Anyways, I downloaded it, and became frustrated.

I calibrated my gamepad a bazillion times and finally got it to work. Now I am owning some people on the demo. If it costs $20 or less, I will consider buying it. CHeers.

EDIT: Looked at site, saw it was 24 pounds. I will be unlocking this when I get parents paid off. Which will be on Tuesday if all goes well. Cheers.

Or I will buy a graphics car first, prolonging it to around 2 weeks.
I'll have it by August.

its 2:18 and i am not asleep :scared:

My Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256mb runs the game at an average 50FPS with 1152x864 resolution 2xAA and 8xAF.
I've got a sempron 3000+ and 512 mb ddr ram. Not exactly a killer rig. You dont need much power to run LFS well.

The full game actually runs smoother than the demo :scared:

The RB4 seems much easier and more fun to drive. Same with all the other cars. :)
