That's funny niels, the 1st time I drove a vette I wished I was laying on the hood, that nose is soooo long.

Related topic: I just recently swiched to a manual tranny, can't believe I was too lazy to change earlier, it's so much better. Still getting grips on downshift though.......

Ran some more laps in the RX7 on forward and went back to kiddy view to improve :(
Got a 1'41.324 pretty quickly and can see a high 1'40 or 1'41 flat as my ideal time on this ... great lap by Dan in the spoon 👍

Updated

I can actually say after 5 years of OLR I have submitted my first in car driven lap :sly:

Took some advice from Dan/Holl0 on msn last night to stick with the incar view for more than a few laps to get used to it 👍 ...... I think I'm hooked now as I been racing it for the last 2 hours in the RX7 @ New York forward ... my best run is a 1'41.987 but damn!!! .... I didn't drive it in kiddy view ... woohoo!! :dopey:

Will try the S2000 at reverse tomorrow 👍

Updated arora, ROB256R and me :)
hey hey! what's wrong with kiddie view? ;)
Oddly enough, the other day when I mentioned how good gt looked, I tried running in first person. I think the bumper cam on newyork helps a great deal regarding my eyes... My vision and perception of the turns can be thrown off by all the clutter in the cityscape.

anyway... off to racing for me tonight if it's not to the bar.
Later. :D

u have given up on the inside view already mrp! nice time though, tried reverse with rx7 and managed a 1'41.289, can see .2 left, but T1 is a difficult assignment with this car, wont try it again as it was the first time i hit a 29.9xx T1. replays here

total 3'21.925

Arhg... Bad news, Ron. :(

I think you were doing great with only half a second down. How many years have you been racing kiddy view now? 8? 10? Not surprising you'll need time to adapt.
Hope it doesn't mean you have given up on the project. 👍

All the talking has got me worked all up. Both because I actually have started to believe, that in the end we'll improve by changing view. But also because it'll be a GT project, that can kick some new life into the gaming. :D

I have trouble feeling where the rear of the car is in inside view, I can't really tell when it's stepping out. I guess that's what's kept me from switching.

u can tell simply by the sound of the tires screeching and the direction of the front of the car, if its starting to step out, u'll know u've pushed the car too much, and the car will be pointing into the apex, its all about making the descision to use the inside view, and never give into the kiddie view again, similar to quitting smoking :D

That's true, but without a visual reference ie. fenders, I have trouble judging the ultimate apex of turns and end up either going wider than I would like, or more often, clipping it too close. So for me, the roof cam works best. We can only hope for a cockpit view in GT5.

I actually cant feel the car on outside view... When your inside you can "feel" the car because your connected to it. Not only can you feel it through the wheel or DS2 but also the sound and visual cues. I guess its just something that once you do for long enough you will adapt and probably find you will improve.

Still in Kiddy view on reverse in the S2000 .. 29.7xx / 1'08.7xx - 1'41.233 :)

Updated 👍

Hey Pimp, you can't submit a time for each in the same car, you have to use both cars (1 for each) or just submit 1 time :)

For anyone interested! .... here is how the overall look is so far

If anyone wants to get last minute runs in then you have just around 30 hours until its over 👍

Nice spread Mr. P. Do you mean last minute runs on any race or just NY. I'm going to post new times for that one today, but I also have some times I've run on some of the other races.

Sorry Erik, all the previous rounds are closed as far as updating goes ... but feel free to update the New York round which ends tomorrow evening 👍

Yah, thats the way it should be, it just looked like you opended the door....

A little better times for me:

foward rx 1.44.522
reverse s2k 144.047

Might try once more before deadline, but more interested in future races.

Thanks Mr. P.

Erik
