Well? What's YOUR opinion on it? I read the thread on 'gay marriages' in the opinions forum already, but I know the Rumble Strip gets alot more traffic, so I'll post it here.

I need some input on this topic, please vote! But please, no religions reasons, I've had enough religion in class for one day.

Regardless of whatever "gets more traffic", please post threads in their appropriate forum.

I think that you will get higher calibur responses in the opinions forum anyway.

I think it should be legalized, cuz what does it hurt? If youre not gay, it doesnt effect you, so why should you care? And those that are gay are not harmed, or put in jeapardy in any way. If it harms no one, then whats the problem?

Well, I still have the same stance as before - Other people's gayness in no way harms me, so there's absolutely no point whatsoever in restricting their freedom.

Isn't it rather silly that you can get away with adultery, but you can't have a loving relationship with someone just because they have the same genitalia as you?

I say whatever makes them happy...
It doesnt really effect me as I am in a very stable hetro relationship. However if i was to bat for the other team (tho that aint gunna happen) i'd like to know that I have the freedom to marry whomever i happen to love at the time.

it doesnt have anything nto do with me so why would i care?the only negative thing i can think of is that Canada will forever be know as "The Country Of The Gays" or something stupid like that.

that's one

another is that my religion doesn't look too kindly on them. if we marry, we're start families (REASONABLE size...10 kids is jus overkill), and it's just not possible to do that if ur married to someone of the same sex.

oh, and does the possibility of unwanted mental images count?

honestly though, i could really care less if they can or can't get married. it's the person's life, they can do as they please. because of that...idunno xactly hwo i'd vote on the topic.

Let 'em. Having known a gay couple for some years now (no I am not going to elaborate) that have been together for ages and are deeply in love I would happily stand by and be a "best man / usher" or whatever. These people have a long lasting and committed relationship and if it was their choice to marry I would support them (and others) in it and defend their right to do so.

And as far as religion goes, emad is right, get over it, those commandments were written for a different time. And anyway religion is all about self propagation and same sex relationships do not produce children, therefore no increase in client base etc...

Ok, so we have had tons of people say why they think there should be gay marriages....I wonder why nobody is saying 'no', yet they are voting it. Perhaps its because they have no logical answer...

not that, but maybe they're afraid of offending?

Why would they be afraid of offending? Theyre the majority obviously.

selfish, personal reasons like my own? honestly, i don't like the idea of it, but some things, u gotta tolerate i guess.

Legalize them. There is no argument for making them illegal that makes any sense.

Does it affect you if Bob gives Joe a handjob and a wedding ring?

Well, if you're Joe, and you happen to be straight, then it probably does affect you. That's a bit of a stretch though. I must say I agree with you.

Perhaps it's because the people who say "no" have no reasonable arguments against it; they are just going on emotion/habit/brainwashing/whatever.

When they shake their heads "no", and avert their eyes because they can't lie to your face, you can actually see the brains falling out of their heads.

It all has to do with freedom in my mind.

People should be free to fall in love with whomever they want, and if they want to get married that is their choice and it affects them, not me.

I am a bit of a homophobic, but I am not so narrow minded that I can not see that they have rights too.

Saying "no" they should not be able to get married just shows how ignorant people can be to others. Just cause someone is gay does not mean they are a monster or that they do not fall in love either.

Legalise

I voted yes. I can't see any harm in it. Speaking as a non-religious person, when my wife and I married it was so that we could make a commitment to each other and celebrate that with our friends and family. I don't see any reason why gay people should be denied that.
