Save the Ring

It's not a 911 GT2 but he's still at the limit for most of his two laps.

I've never driven that piece of **** car in my life so this may be easy for me to say but; too much slip angle, this isn't the car's limit.

I don't know. The track itself is a huge variable to me, I wouldn't count on lap times from it to choose cars.

I don't really know what to say in response to that, this snippet from an article about the video sums it up a bit better than I could…

In 1987 the RUF CTR “Yellowbird” ran the Nurburging in 8:05. 25 years later, it would still keep up with a new M3 or R8. But to get the RUF around that fast takes immense skill, balls, and over-steer.

Lap times at the ring might not be the first thing I think about when looking for a new car, I do care about how a car handles though and better handling tends to go side by side with improved lap times at the ring.

That's what I said. It tests how how fast the car can go safely, not the full potential of the car. Obviously the more confidence it gives you, the better your lap time will be. Hence, the R35 GTR is one of the "fastest" cars to run there.

Your criteria for buying a car is similar to mine, but let's not make believe that a car is faster because it's better handling or easier to drive. That's my point, and that's why it bothers me when someone claims a certain car is outright faster because it did better lap times around the Nurburgring.

So is this the rich Russian who owns Chelsea FC, or the one that owns SMP Racing, or the one that owns TVR, or the one that owns Marussia; or a new, different rich Russian guy involved in the Car/Motorsport industry?

Where are the Russians getting this money?

Where are the Russians getting this money?

Extremely rich Russians get their money in the same was as extremely rich Americans, Brits, Frenchies or Hollandlanders. By having very big businesses and turning over lots of money thereby making lots of profit.

No point discussing whether or not big business is good/bad, Russia has a lot of people, a lot of business and large markets around her.
