That reminds me, Happy 86 day folks (whoever knows that anyway).

I think I'm going to buy a FR-S or BR-Z, in black, after I'm done with grad school. I'll be able to easily afford it (unlike some other cars I had considered) and they are really, really good looking in dark colors. They do have lovely proportions and shapes. I just despise the detailing. Thankfully, as above, the aftermarket has some cures for that. Now, if only somebody would make an ITB kit at a semi-realistic price...

I wouldn't say what I linked is old news being that it hasn't been posted here before (unless you count that lame teaser pic of the Sti logo).
I linked to a Subaru provided article on the debut of the model and provided pictures of the full vehicle (and more if you follow the link).

Just the same, if it's old... w/e
At least I provided the link to the real deal. :D
If not interested just ignore. 👍
More over it confirms that TS is involved in the concept model at this point. :indiff:

Not really sure how I feel about TS models...
The wrx sti ts type RA looked promising. 👍

My reaction:

3.0, huh? Okay, so it's another 2JZ-swapped 86? Hmm, why did they put a Subaru logo on the--

Would not have thought that a 3.0 could fit in there....
However, EZ30R isn't that great of an engine, and it would be ~100lbs heavier than OEM one, and in all the wrong places too, handling would be screwed up, front springs would need to be quite a bit stiffer etc.
All in all, interesting, but personally I'd rather have a supercharger.

Yeah, I do quite like the idea of that. Maybe one of those, with the uprated leather innards of the grey car in the other 86 day post (and maybe the unusual exterior too), to go alongside a stripped-down version of the regular four-cylinder car...

I need that interior. I'd buy a GT86, put that interior in it, perhaps a more tasteful bodykit, buy stickier tyres, and add about 25 bhp. Perfect.

Pretty much any larger engine swap would do the same thing.

They can make some power:

Though, I'd really like to see how much the stock H4 can make with some heavy tuning. I'm thinking cams, head porting, individual throttle bodies, etc.

I want this car.

I'll take that EZ30R 3 liter BRZ/GT86/FR-S ASAP, it's just the perfect combo I wanted. Even though I love the 2JZ swapped GT86/FR-S/BRZs, but can't go wrong with more displacement from a boxer engine.

And I would try to add a roll cage or a roll bar similar to the GT3 RS and Laguna Boss Mustang with racing seats and shed 50 to 90lbs off the car. Getting some ideas for this car....💡

Why stop at 3.0 when you can probably get a 3.6 from a rear-ended Tribeca or Legacy..? It's same engine family, right?

How about a Boxster engine? Get one from a wrecked first gen Boxster, tune it a bit, and you have yourself a 200-300 bhp flat six with awesomeness included.

Two words: Maintenance costs. I assume that Porsche motor, no matter how puny, requires expensive maintenance both in parts and so.

Of course! It would still be cool.
