'Secret Mazda RX-7 and Mitsubishi GTO to Live Again?'

Yeah, no part of it resembles any previous RX7.

And that 3000GT looks awful.

Apart from the 'double-dome' roof, the concealed door handles and the front air-dam;)

Mazda are in the process of giving their cars a strong brand identity. The Mazda 6, Mazda RX-8, Mazda 2 all share similar styling cues as does the RX-7 concept above.

As for Mitsubishi, their cars are also beginning to share the same visual cues, but I don't quite know what their game is with the GTO concept above:rolleyes:

Looking more like a rally car... :odd:

the rx-7 is the car from the x-men 2 in which mazda modified a first production RX-8 that would be used in a feature film.

I'll try to explain.. the angle of the lights doesn't feel right (tilts slightly upwards). and how the light ends, is "cutted" to the left doesn't at all fit with how the rest of the lines and bulges goes in that area.

What do you think about these remarks? Agree or not?

David

edit: photoshoppy is just a term i came up with when it feels a bit maplaced.. go look at the psp contest forum and it is filled with photoshoppy cars:)

OK, I see what you mean the inside edge on the headlight on the front light does look a bit fussy. But I guess it's only a 'rough' artist's rendering. My friend's a car designer and he knocks stuff out like this surprisingly fast:)

The X-men 2 "RX-8" was actually 2 different cars. 1, used early on in production of the movie, was just a 3rd gen RX-7 made to look like the RX-8, and was only used in sitting scenes. The other was a RX-8 used in the driving scenes.

That eledgid RX-7 in that pic is just a photoshopped X Men RX-8. You can tell because of the wheels and rear wing, and the color. The head lights look like RX-8 lights towards the edge of the car, and the part towards the center of the car looks all made up in photoshop. The door handle looks to be photoshopped straight from a 3rd gen RX-7. Also, to prove more that it's just a photoshopped RX-8, look at the length of the car. It's the normal length with the rear door lines buffed out. The roof line looks like it's off of a 911, Audi TT, or 350Z. Ohh, and those mirrors are right off of a RX-8.

Pretty poorly done.

Chaser, while Mazda is revitalizing and reinventing themself, they've done it with all of thier model line, except the Miata. The Protege, Protege 5, MPV, Tribute, and B-series(and the new arrivals, in order: Mazda 6, Mazda 2/Demio, Mazda RX-8, and soon, the Mazda 3/Axela), and other non-US Mazdas such as the Premacy, Laputa, Spaino, Bongo, even their commercial vehicles such as the Titan. This all started in 1998. But now Mazda is just renewing thier line up and introducing new cars.

Evidently, the new RX-7 concept car will be at the Tokyo Auto Show this October, so then we will see what Mazda has instore for it. None of the official Mazda sites have any info on it, not even the media sites. I guess it's going to be a surpise type thing.

I saw a CGI similarly looking to that in a magazine called "speed" here today. They were saying that Mazda was hopeful to increase the capacity of the engine from 1.3 litres to 1.5...that's about all that I took notice of, as I was in a rush.

That's not the wing off of X-Men, not quite anyway. If you ask me, it looks like a drawing to me.

They shortened the angled parts of the wing...note the other features of the RX-8 X-men car used in the mag page above, like the wheels and side vent...

Yea that was in Road and Track, and I can say that I'm disgusted in how they think both the RX-7 and Miata will look like. They don't look like anything Mazda aside from the small features.

Bah. If they bring back the GTO, Mitsubishi will officially be an assy company. That car went out great. If they bring it back, do like an anniversary edition or something stupid like that.

Damn you Mitsubishi.

The new RX7 and GTO and 3000GT are all, better looking i hope they go to a top speed of 165MPH i bet they will.
