By the way a quick Bing search can get you the website for it from the creator. And also I have a MEGA account, can be found threw my profile, under current status. Look for file named "gt2 tools" its got what you need and then some to start modding. But I recommend you becareful of what you say because somethings are not allowed to be spoken about on here(this forum).

Good luck and happy modding!

EDIT: has anyone enjoyed the 1st inrace music mod I made?

And @RandomCarGuy17 I totally forgot about that video..... lol

Also @NoGoodNames actually I think its white. And also an ex-gt2 modder has replicated it........in white, and it looks exactly like the picture.

And lastly edit: Suprise! I have finished a decal delete NSX RM! So with time, road versions of race cars can now be made!

And currently working on the dodge neon...... 1st a 4door rm, to correct the wrong 2door rm body.

Hehe. Though, I didn't bother sharing the white GT40 in my video. Mainly because I didn't think it was a beta model render; I just thought someone just edited a GT40 render screenshot when adding it in.

Lol, well either way, its possible to have ingame! Speaking of not sharing, that decal delete NSX was custom made just for a friend as a body kitted nsx, though I'm debating about posting and leaking it here..........

Hey guys. I have all i need, Could you give me some tips? I do not want to screw it up when I start :bowdown:. And good job with that NSX, beautiful :D

I highly reconmend you read this thread as it most likely will contain alot of info your looking for to answer your questions, and learn how use hex editor, both will be your friend for gt2 modding! Also make sure the .vol stays the same size, as mentioned before in a youtube video, which you should watch some of those for ideas, tips, and additional info! And lastly tankuroded has a link in his signature for a place thats more free talking than this forum, check it out.

Have a good one!

(P.s. some of my gt2 mod work can be found in my MEGA!)

Pretty cool beta GT40 out there. Also, the number "6" is missing on the side. Good job on that NSX aswell, would be awesome to have a road version of the Ford Escort Rally Car, without decals and such. So it looks (kinda) like the deleted Escort 1.8GTi

Lol funny you mentioned that one, there is several I want to try. And since I'm the only one modding car textures, I guess I have a new title as car texture master, lol, just kidding. Actually, I do have a 4door neon rm, a decal delete 1993 civic si rm in the works.......

and spoiler @submaniac93 its now very close and possible to replicate beta gt1 cars and gt1 lm edition (to a certian extant) cars and recreate them into gt2...... (there might be minor differences though, so hope all goes well as planned!) But I can say for sure there has been 1 beta gt1 rm car that has been recreated into gt2!

so far the main issue is mesh, but once thats figured out, then its easily done, example the wide body on the silvia s14 lm edition wont be able to recreate, but there is a nice donor in gt2 for the texture......

The problem with that is mostly because we don't have a cdo/cno or cdp/cnp extractor and importer, but since it uses a Assembly language it's going to be hard altering the models (though someone might come up with a better plan for that).

The way you deleted the decals on the NSX makes it look like the NSX-R GT from the NTSC-J Trial demo of GT1.

Well recreating the neon 2door rm with spoiler will be harder than thought. But I did make a 4door neon with spoiler. Also still making the neon 4door rm!

Btw, its plausible to turn the 1999 dodge viper gts coupe into a 2008 viper srt10 coupe....... or even a 2013 srt viper gts coupe! Its plausible is all I can say......but to do those is much more difficult than just going threw byte by byte deleting decals...... it would be easier to turn the RUF cars into 911s and give gt2 porsches way before gt sport........... lol.

Better yet, have it look like an Escort RS Cosworth. :D

That's fantastic. Hey, maybe it's possible now to edit the Acura Integra RM to have a plain white color in order to make it look like a true Acura Integra Type R.

Lol you have read my mind, yes I also had plans on a "correct" 2001 acura integra type r. I need a list of all cars that has texture errors, inaccurate, or other texture issues besides glitching which can't be helped at the moment.

also the escort rs cosworth would be plausible, but sadly the front airdam (bumper) would be difficult to recreate, and the main issue is the spoiler not being accurate. It would be easier to simply remove the texture from the spoiler and make it "invisible" but I think the "shiny" effect on the cars is apart of the mesh........ but what can be done for sure is delete all the decals........

Wide body GTO ;) Thanks :)

That would be a nice addition, but doesnt that sorta already exists ingame? With roof scoop and without roof scoop!

Yeah, would be more plausible.

I will "soon" release a .txt (or pdf) file containing all the menu IDs (with the relative code) from both the final version & the demo builds of GT2. I'll mark the (many) unused ones, like the Ford Escort 1.8GTi Description.

Thanks to tankuroded

What I really need is a list of all cars with texture errors like the renault laguna rm that I fixed......... but this list would also be very useful!

EDIT:

renault laguna rm before with texture error (notice front bumper)
frl6r_0.png

Now the renault laguna rm with fixed texture (notice fixed front bumper)

frl6r_d.png

Fixed renault laguna rm texture daytime

renault_laguna_rm_FINAL.PNG

Fixed renault laguna rm texture nighttime

renault_laguna_rm_FINAL2.PNG

Who would like to fixed they'er renault laguna rm error?

That's fine, that's all I had in mind anyway. I didn't think it was possible to edit body parts in such a way yet.

The only way to get around the shinny issue is to use that gameshark "shinny" code.......or what ever its called, lol.

Trust me I would love to know how to mod the mesh so I can fix the rx7 lm edition wide body nighttime error!

EDIT: UPDATE: the 4door neon with spoiler is finished.

I recently lost my WIP folder which had my extracted VOL which I was working on. It was backed up but at a much earlier stage then what my current version of my custom GT2 is at. When I try to extract the current version that I have running, I get this error message from VOL tools: View attachment 704978

Only happens when I try to extract the VOL from a customized VOL. Untouched VOL is fine. Any ideas or work arounds?
So i had a reply from the creator of GTVolTools who informed me that there is now a fix for this issue and it's brilliant!
http://www.airesoft.co.uk/files/GTVolTools.zip
There is a .exe called FixGT2Vol. You simply drag your previously repacked Vol over the exe and let it patch the file for you. Then you can proceed to extract it like any other Vol.
Life saver!

Thank you for this link! Now I can try a special .vol a friend built for me!

No problem dude.
Was scratching my brain for ages with this issue and found I could go straight to the source. Did not expect a reply but it certainly paid off.
Maybe we could try the same approach to the creator of GT2 Car viewer to help reverse the process of extracting and compiling the car files so we can start making our own mods.

I'm currently more interested in a Track viewer.

The track textures can be viewed with "tim2view", thats how I modded the beta tahita dirt track into a grass track...... which is also the same program used to view billboards, rims, nameplates, title screens, ect.......

I already did, he said he didn't plan to work any time soon on GT yet. That's why I asked for the source code (that he actually sent me) in case we could work on it. But it's written in Delphi, which is close to Assembly code, and that one usually people don't like lmao.

What I wish is the creator could do, is allow gt2 car viewer to give/call out the mesh points locations in the .cdo/.cno files. That would be key to modding the meshes, aka fix the rx7 lm edition widebody nightime error!

@B_rad88! Do you know where is located the opponent car list in gt2vol? I would like to edit it...

Sorry, I wish I did know where it is. I might have an idea, but @pez2k is the member I've read recently that modded any of those files. I honestly would like to know my self! Specially those "garage color squares" I want to know how to mod!
