I've began making a game on Unity3d, its a racing game, the program says you can import models from other programs, do you know if i could import items from Gran Turismo 2?

well,i was thinking about making game on unity.
at the end,i understood that unity is not the 3d engine,that i need.
unity is too casual/arcase.

about models: i saw format,that unity needs.
as i remember,they are wierd,but for me there's nothing strange.it's as wierd,as GT2 tro 3d format :D

i think i can import them in right format,because i have supercomputer and all the programms you can imagene.

Photoshop CS5,Adobe after effects,Sony Vegas Pro 12,Zmodeler2,Zmodeler 1.0.7b,Blender,Autodesk 3ds max,sketchUp,Cinema 4d 32-64 bit,tiledGDD,PVV, and much-much more:drool:

Edit: if you want,i can try to import car body for you,but i need to know,which format do you need:tup:

Okey question ferrari gt, I have been somewhat absent from GTPlanet lately and I have missed out abit, may I ask what is going on here? I am not sure I fully understand, but whatever it is I like it! :dopey:

Nothing really, thanks for the help :), i thought importing the cars would not fit in gameplay easily, it would be hard to make variables for each parts, i'm already struggling with writing scripts. Anyway i think using tracks from the GT games would be much easier to use in my game, i really want drive in SSR5 and all those other tracks in my game, and if it all goes well in the future i might publish my own games on the android markets.

Woah wait a minute. I have some questions:
ferrarigt, you have completed those models, haven't you? If you have, I don't think those wheels will work (GTA SA Conversion). They have to be from ingame.
Castrol, the maps you convert are 3D models right? Can I have a copy of them please? I always wanted to make GT tracks to Garry's Mod.

Unfortunately there not GT tracks, there prefabs imported from the unity store, the bottom two I created myself. At the moment I'm working on importing tracks from GT tracks.

Coolio! Which GT, 1 or 2? If you try converting from GT 1, convert the legendary SRR 11
 
He said that the track was downloaded from Unity Web store, as part of Car Creation Tutorial. So no, there's no GT1 or GT2 tracks there, just to let you clarify ;)

At the moment I'll try converting GT1, 2, because we have the appropriate tools, yes I'll try the best tracks :), also I discovered a program where you can open files from GT3 and 4, if you can open the cars we can open the tracks, I'll try on this on the future.

He's actually talking about extracting and importing tracks from Gran Turismo into Unity3d

Wooooooohooooo! I can't wait to give Gmod map making a try. If you succeed, please make it a .z3d file, so I can open it in Zmod, or in a .bsp format if possible
 
woah,i've not been here for long.:odd:
let my say,i spent over a mouth to import GT2 track.Guess what-nothing.
i really used everything,even changing formats.
stupid tro format is don't wan't to work anywhere.
I even tryed to see,what programms PD used for making the game.no news about it:scared:.i only know programm to open GT5 tracks and cars,but for doing this,i need to decompile gt5.vol
i have stuff to open cars from GT3 and GT4 cars too,but not tracks.

if you don't think,that my wheels won't work in game,look at the screen of one of the car i made for GTA SA about a year before.

i can make new racing track,but not import GT one,this is impossible at the moment.
And i don't want to make new track,there's would't be GT experiense,GT scharm.even if i'll do it 100% idientical.

And as i said before,Castrol96,you're making awesome job:tup:
,but there is no point of serious game on unity.
unity is arcade engine.nothing like GT can be made on it.

I know at the first place i thought of making a game based upon Need For Speed and Burnout, maybe forza, but one for Gran Turismo would take me a crew of help for development, anyway i'm fine with building tracks myself now and importing and creating scripts, my game has easy and fun physics so that the audience don't get tired while playing. When my game is near finish, i'll try making a video for it.

Well I don't actually think so, since this is what keeps GT2 alive, and, who knows! MAybe someone will make a GT2.VOL repacker!!!!! Also, here are the pictures you wanted, ferrari gt.

In the future where i have more knowledge in making a game i might publish it, now if i publish it people might argue against something like glitches, if the game goes well i'll upload a video and show you guys what i have done to comment on it. The game i'm making is just a tester on my project in the future.

I'm learning how to make realistic car physics in Unity3d and there's a possibility, now i'm working on making realistic car physics, with a tutorial. Doing it is so fun, you make the gear ratio's, make you car aerodynamic and all sorts. Hard work, but also fun.
 
So I take it that there's nothing hidden anymore, no secrets or anything like that left? And wow for 1500 posts on this thread.
