The Prius sucks. It has no feedback, it's so mushy... It makes me feel like a passenger and that just makes me car sick :P

Have to buy all other cars... Only have the 111 but it's very modded and tuned. Was doing 2.22s (or something) and despite many offs I was leading in last lap, so I quit. Gonna start from stock :)

edit:
The Elise is really awesome stock with aids off. Seriously, it's just on the limit in some corners, and you have to really drive it smooth but fast, on the edge. Messing with it just ruins the balance and the fun IMO. But if you have to, I'd advise better tires only.

It's very rewarding to push it right on the limit and see the difference to leader dropping fast. I was running ABS1 to learn the braking points and how to take each corner before turning it off, and I see it's very doable. I know exactly where I lost the 9sec I'm missing. Consistent 2.24 highs will leave you in the lead somewhere on the last lap.

I ask questions to the 'no assists' people, but they don't seem to want to answer. Hmm.

The following is an assist, btw: ABS 1

I am not one of the 'no assists' guys in terms of absolution, but I do drive pretty much every car with SRF off, TC off and ABS on 1.

The reason I don't like SRF is that it doesn't emulate any kind of real world function.

ABS emulates (somewhat poorly) real world ABS. Part of the need for this is the G27 has not been supported properly in GT5 and causes wheel lockups far too easily making having ABS off actually an unrealistic experience.

TC simulates a real world function, but I don't like it and it can be turned off in real life.

That's why I don't like SRF. I have no problem with those who wan't to use it though... that's up to you. But I personally don't feel I have beaten a race unless I have done it without SRF.

With or without SRF?

Without SRF (wheel, no assists except ABS1) here are my gaps to leader after 5 laps (full stock cars, not even oil change).

Races:

#1/ 22 seconds
#2/ 34 seconds
#3/ 35 seconds
#4/ 15 seconds
#5/ 5 seconds

"Stock" win seems fairly impossible here, maybe only with WRC and some messing with setup. But others can't be won by stock.

And yes, changing a "lil bit better tyres " means even your Lotus 111R weren't stock anymore.
I've redone the Lotus. This time full stock with sport hards. 4 sec in front.
I've already done WRC stock
The TT was a mistake, I did it on Sport medium apparently. With comfort soft I was 18.5 sec behind.
The Ford GT was surely stock. Bought it and immediately went to track. Won it after several tries.
Don't feel the urge to make the Prius stock.

The TT race is impossible to win stock. 25 seconds behind the leader isnt close. Will put on some new tyres and give it another go. I like having to buy new cars each time, as they are cars i normally wouldnt buy.

Next events should have some car choice. Like the Prius for instance, allow for any Hybrid in the game, with maybe some limitations to make it even. I'd never use the Prius, that's for sure...

The Ford GT race was challenging for me....that was not an easy car to drive and I am using Sport Medium and the car was lightened....the car was very jumpy and didn't like the track much. ~4-5 tries to win that.

The Elise could probably be done with stock, but I can't resist tinkering with the car. Finished 5th with stock car and added a wing and sport suspension to cure some nervousness.

The C4 race was challenging for me too, all aids off including ABS and on stock tire(sport medium) it was 3rd place at most for me. Went to soft and still was interesting as it asks me to basically do 5 perfect lap at my level and that was tricky on a narrow course with some traffic....several tries were ruin when catching the car in front at the wrong place...finally did it...Interesting thing of note, the C4's cockpit view was usable for me for the first time since the track is pretty flat....usually with elevation changes I had to go to roof view because the sun blocker is so low...

In the process of doing these got to lvl 30 and had a go with the X2010...I am still struggling with it but watching the replay it is hilarious...the way that car moves its like watching a cartoon...

I know PD must be torn between the two factions of lump mass of GT5 noobs whining about the difficulty and the devoted GT pro player base whining about it being too easy, but this latest Seasonal Event 3 is just a slap in the face. Sure I can enforce my own restrictions on myself but where's the fun in that, if I want to practice self discipline I'll refrain from my appetite and and lose a few pounds, PD really screwed up with this batch of events. How about scalable system that would increase restrictions based on A-spec level, if you going to make seasonal events this easy in the future, then you may as well make them B-spec as well so Bob can manage wasting my time on skill-less race events.

I've been able to win the second lot of bonus races I'd previously been unable to complete (they were silvers, but got the golds)...merely by buying a better set of tyres. It's amazing how much difference a simple set of tyres can make over the course of a race.

These seasonal events need to restrict SRF, ASM, TCS, and keep HP, weight and tyre restrictions especially if they are going to be worth 1.5mil for 10 mins work......

the event should be challenging enough that it's achievable, but not so easy that everyone can complete it first attempt, it is nice to get free money though.

Thnaks PD for that I suppose.....

I tried the TT on Tsukuba in a stock 4WD skyline (older model) and was 8 seconds off the leader. I think with a few suspension mods and a bit of weight reduction I might get a bit closer.

Yet another money making excercise - these couldn't be any easier if they tried. I'd prefer they just dumped the credits and exp straight into my save, rather than jump through these silly hoops. Still, I musn't complain too much, it saved me a few hours of grinding at Indy. 👍

I tried them last night, if you attempt them FULLY stock they are still too difficult to me (as in about same difficulty as bonus race 2) but I was getting 5th at best. I could see the C4 challenge being achievable without changes but the elise challenge for example, I was some 17 seconds off the leader at the end and I love that track....

A tyre upgrade on each car though made it TOO easy.... See where people are coming from when they need a base limit. It is difficult to match the car without losing several times and spending a lot of time between tuning and seasonal events.

I was 240th on cape ring drifft trial for some time yesterday evening :) with score over 8400pts.

Best score was like 16.000

They are trying to please both in that way I guess...

But, reading your post it hit me... There is more than one event. Why not different rules, progressively more restrictive? Yes, the hardest, more restricted could very well only be attainable by better more experienced drivers, but hey... that should make a difference and be rewarded, no?

Wow.

I'd understand if they lifted restrictions off of the new bonus race, but why the previous ones? All that heartache spent on the focus challenge and now after I got gold, restrictions are lifted? **** you PD.

With that said, I think there should be ONE race with restrictions but at the same time a million XP and no credits. I don't need any stupid credits I want XP -.-

I find it funny that so many people are saying these last events are "so easy" with "stock" cars, yet are using Racing Soft tyres and/or don't answer the SRF question...

Even the event which seems easier to do with a bare stock car with SRF off - the C4 WRC at Rome - isn't that easy to do.

That's exactly what I did the other night. I actually like it this way: give me a week to do it the hard way and make me work for it. After a week, lift the restrictions to finally let me get gold and take the rewards home.

This way it is nicely challenging at first, but without the frustration because you know that after a week you'll be able to finish the events if you don't manage with the restrictions on.

👍

For an instant I thought my saved game was corrupted or something....after I bought some parts for my car I selected the seasonal event icon on the main GTLife screen. I got an error message: "No seasonal event found" :| I tried again and it worked. Weird...
Anybody else had that problem?

Funny. The same thing happened to me the other night, and it wasn't the first time either. Except it happened to me when I selected the bonus races inside the seasonal events menu.

Frequently...I think it coincides with a brief drop in internet connectivity after going into the seasonal events menu, but before going into the menu you want.

It always works the second time.

Then again, it could just be random.

Not a bad idea, it would please the experienced players and then later everyone can come get some money the next week.

Ditto on tha C4, the traffic made it trickier and you still need 5 near perfect lap with them on it...

I went back to the Tsukuba RX7 race and went to the sport soft and finally finished that one. For the life of me before(I think was sport medium) I can't hit the 1:00 mark consistently enough to catch the leader(I think closest I came was 9 sec).

I don't mind how much exp or cr you earn in seasonal event. I think the solution is to make silver more profiteable, as much near gold as they can, but only give gold whith some restrictions.

For example: Second or third, with no limitations, bronce trophy. First without limitations, silver trophy (and as much cash and exp as gold trophye). First with event limitations (no aids, limited car, etc.) gold trophy.

Experienced players will be pleased and everyone will have their exp and cash (Who cares about too much money? What can we do? buy cars? It makes no difference at all. Good drivers are regardless of the money they have. But good drivers would had got their gold trophy.

I'm really surprised at the difference racing tyres make - I've only really noticed it because of this thread. As I mentioned, I'm not agreat driver, so I'm surprised that I walked all five of these events when others have struggled, just by whacking the best tyres on.
