People that complain about no restrictions and then go and tune their car and then run the race and say it is easy because they were driving like they were drunk banging off walls have you ever thought of not tuning the car before you tried it so it isn't too easy? Probably not, too much thinking for your kind. Feel sorry for you people I really do.

Someone has it wrong like the other thread.

Why would people who want restrictions over tune their cars once removed?

Its those who want restrictions removed who want to do that obviously. How can so many people misunderstood this fact?

I forgot how much fun the Elise is to drive!

I just did the Nurburgring one, while I did dominated the event, I pushed to the limit for all 5 laps and that thing was brilliant. I was on 2 wheels round the final corner lol That was fun!

These were far too easy. Except for the Prius, which I bought some engine parts, all the others were bone stock (Audi TTS, Ford GT, Citroen) or just a lil bit better tyres (Lotus)

That's a video of me on the final corner of the last lap in the Lotus Elise Nurburgring seasonal event. That race was miles of fun, dispute dominating the field :)

Is it even possible to gold the prius one without updates and stock tyres (without SFR of course)?

Maybe... but certainly not by me. I ran a completely stock prize car and took 5th (20 seconds behind the leader).

ABS 1 was the only assist. Honestly I could improve quite a bit but I'll probably mod it to the max and paint it some terrible color because that's "fun" for me.

You are just a driving god man.

I had fun with these. They were a lot easier, but that's my fault because I used better tires on all the cars. I'm not complaining.

The Prius makes baby Jesus cry.

Fantastic! Now I'm gunna be trying to do that when I try the race... goodbye first place!

Very cool friend:)
Now going for the Prius challenge:drool:

I hope PD will put restrictions back on in Bonus races 4, more fun watching noobs complain. :D

Anyway, easy money/XP is nice sometimes :)

Man this is painfull :( My PS3 is getting repaired and I've not been able to play since almost two weeks ago :(
Anyway, I'm looking forward to these new events, because you can choose not to tune the car, and I really want the credits because when my PS3 died I was so close to finally be able to buy the 787B..or perhaps the 908 or the R10 :)
Oh well, the wait is almost over for me :D

With or without SRF?

Without SRF (wheel, no assists except ABS1) here are my gaps to leader after 5 laps (full stock cars, not even oil change).

Races:

#1/ 22 seconds
#2/ 34 seconds
#3/ 35 seconds
#4/ 15 seconds
#5/ 5 seconds

"Stock" win seems fairly impossible here, maybe only with WRC and some messing with setup. But others can't be won by stock.

And yes, changing a "lil bit better tyres " means even your Lotus 111R weren't stock anymore.

nooo way, stock even with the TT and ford GT?

The TT has comfort softs and that lead evora is at least running sport medium, I don't believe you can do the Ford GT one without tire upgrade as well, even if you cut the chicane.

elise and C4 is winnable bone stock, prius as well but a bit harder.

I can't believe how easy these are. I'm not one of these "I'm so good, I beat the Nurb 24 hours in 53 minutes" types, but I bought myself a Ford GT, whacked racing softs on and won my 21seconds. Same deal with the TTS - just tyres (and an oil change) and I lapped the 10th - 12th place cars.

Not that I'm complaining, like. I've gone from level 17 -> 21!

And I'm fast approaching being able to get the 787B I've been after.

you put racing soft on....that alone is almost ten second per lap advantage over stock tires, you don't nearly gain as much in the previous seasonal race, of course it is easy!

People should really drop the "all stock just tires" thing because tires is the single most important thing in tuning.

I was starting to wonder if my driving skills suddenly regressed or something :dunce:
It turns out that people with "easy races with stock cars" actually meant with racing softs and SRF on!

Last with the elise. I just can't control that car. :(

Search for a 111R tune and it will make the car handle far far better. The back end is really loose with the stock setup. Toss in even just the height adjustable suspension and it's a world of difference.

I won the WRC event by 2 seconds with the prize car, unmodified.

I'm not putting SRF on for one... Unless there is another Focus like event and I'm running out of time to complete it.

Not that it's cheating. It's just that it's all about the "journey" for me. The getting there and how, not the prize. I'm gonna make the most of each event, trying it in the hardest possible form I can, and getting better at it every time I try.
👍

I ask questions to the 'no assists' people, but they don't seem to want to answer. Hmm.

The following is an assist, btw: ABS 1

You realize that soft racing tires are the single best upgrade you can do to a car right? They'll give you perhaps 7seconds PER LAP.

Partially answered in my previous (and simultaneous post) and by my sig.

No I do not continue if I make contact. Made the NASCAR @ Nurb on the first time I did a whole lap without going off, otherwise I'd just restart.

No I do not pit if there are no fuel and tire wear rules enforced.

No I do not think I'm better, but I feel better doing so...

hornet_burnout,

Thanks for answering. You have made me realize that I should rephrase what I mean. Instead of 'no assists' people, my intent is to address the 'only no-assists drivers are Real drivers' guys.

I don't have any objection to foregoing the use of assists. It's claiming superiority as a result of not using assists that bugs me.

Sorry for not being clearer about that.

No problem. It's wrong to judge people who actually abide by the rules, I agree.

I think everyone should be able to enjoy the game, and many couldn't do so without aids (as in: can't be bothered or are not as crazy car people as other or don't have time or...).

If people do have some time and want the experience to be richer, then I "advise" them to do so.

On the other hand... Slapping best/all aids and/or upgrades and saying it's "too easy", is also wrong IMO.

I'm glad we can now use our tuned cars for these events, rather than having to buy new ones that had not been made too lightweight etc.

But PD could put us against better cars, or have them have a better lead at the start, so you have to put in 5 good, clean, fast laps in a row to catch first position. So it actually takes more than one attempt to finish each race in 1st position.

For f's sake that prius, hate that hippie save the world crappy car. That Gt40 race was just too easy even when bone stock, bought it and went straight to race. Thougt the audi race was pretty fun when comfort tires.
