Cheers for the advice last won every challenge first time. Had a bash at gtr last night, came 2nd by a long distance. Need to try again today.

Dodge Challenger ( Finished +13.8 ahead )
425hp
Aero Front and Rear - Set to 16
Racing Air Filter
FC Trans - Set to 205mph
Twin Plate Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Carbon Drive Shaft
Ride Height -23 / -17
Springs 7.0 / 5.4
Extension 4 / 4
Compression 4 / 4
Anti-Roll 2 / 2
Camber 0 / 0
Toe -0.32 / 0.11
Brakes 7 / 8

Won with that but change the FC Trans to 162, couldnt come in better than 5th with it set at 205

I've found that the standard settings are good enough for the races I've done so far.
Fiat 500 - Light flywheel and window and the close 5 speed box and left everything else stock. Won by about 3 seconds.
Mazda RX7 - I think I just got lightened flywheel and also the cheapest suspension. Went into 1st through the first section.
Nissan GTR 07 - Full body reduction, 491 bhp and pretty much everything else i could buy.
I started messing about with the suspension and all i seemed to be doing was giving myself more understeer so i reset all of my settings to default apart from max speed 168 and managed to win by about 7 secs. Car seemed to brake and steer a lot better as long as I was using the slow in fast out method

Just had to set up the Draft on the main stretch. I'd run about 160mph into the first turn. The key is keeping your momentum going.

You're getting unlucky! When I beat the Fiat race my best lap time was 1:19.900 exactly and all the rest of my laps were 1:20:xxx and 1:21:xxx

I cut across the last corner and t-boned the audi in first place in order to beat the fiat challenge, to beat the challenger race, Just cut the corners

You should be aiming for high 19's but i did it with a 21 first lap and the rest mid 20's.

19.9xx - 20.9xx every lap will easily give you 1st place, but it'll come in turns 8-9 on the very last lap. No need to cut corners in any turns.

The Fiat turns a lot better than you think it will. Like others have said, try for mid 20.xxx lap times and you'll easily take 1st in this event.

Currently building a R32

Used this for every race and won by a comfortable margine for every race except the fiat which I won on the last corner. Only thing I changed were the gear ratios for the challenger to 165 (I think) and dropped the CR-Z as well to around 140. Great setups!

Challenger Race: If you are going to cut the corner on the first turn (to the right), you might as well keep going straight and cut the corner off of the left turn that comes immediately after it. You come zooming into the first turn and end up driving across the yard into the third turn. lol.

Thanks, man. Killer tune.

I combined that with my corner cutting royale, and the other guys never had a prayer.

I used this tune for the Honda CR-Z race, not too much compared to some but finished 5.5 seconds ahead for the win.

Honda CR-Z
122 HP
Window weight reduction
Carbon Fiber Hood
Air Filter- Sports
FC Trans- set to 168 mph
Twin Plate Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Brake Balance 5/7

I used an R35 GTR with 492 HP and 1360-something kg to win this race using the LDP tune (minus the big power mods). This race requires consistent lap times. I ran 1:29.3 the first lap and averaged 1:28.56 over the entire race. The Ford GT was overtaken on the last set of esses before the uphill hairpin turn.

I was able to get 2nd in the GTR race but still 15 seconds behinde the Ford GT using this setup:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=136731&page=4#post4259820

with 491hp

HP Setup:

Intake: Racing
Exhaust: Sports CAT
Turbo: Stage 2

I also set the tranny to 155

Anyone have any tips to get 1st? Or do I just fail at driving?

Anyone have any tips to help

Having just completed the CR-Z seasonal race, that CR-Z setup was on point! I cant wait to dominate the other 4 bonus races in this first set, knowing that if my way of tuning is a failure(I am still learning the more advanced aspects yet) I can always use your setup to fall back on. Thanks a lot!

Like MMeglen, I found the CR-Z acceleration a bit sluggish with the FC Trans set at 168. I dropped mine to 137 mph and had no problems obtaining a 6 second lead by the first checkpoint of the final lap. Even despite driving like Gary Busey (circa 1988) , when the hybrid batteries were low and required me to do a bit of late braking to pass a few cars.

Speaking of Hybrid battery power... does else anyone notice quite inconsistent lap times, in this race, when using the CR-Z due to the hybrid nature of the car or am i just crazy? I was noticing up to a 4-5 second difference in lap times here, when the batteries were low on juice.

I made this post in another section regarding the skyline race, but can not be bothered re-typing it.

so i will just link the post, this tune involves no messing with settings in any way and is a easy win for the skyline race, the car was simply build around its good characteristics.

Skyline GTR 94 is the way to go https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=149243&page=2#post4416315

P.s. i dont know why everyone seems to be messing around with fully custom trannys and lsds ect, apart from the muscle car event where i did use a cust tran all other events dont need them. In all the other races i just used the available sports 5/6 boxs and did not bother with lsds. I also got flywheels ect and just used the cheap sports susp kits and won these events with no problems, just get the weight and bhp as close as possible and buy cheap on everything else. no need for cust lsd or trannys on these events.

Just thought I'd post a quick note to say thank you for these tunes. I found the Fiat race slightly easier with the lowest possible transmission setting, and it finally dawned on me that it was possible to massively cut the second from last corner completely, shaving off a couple of seconds en route. This is what allowed me to win, sadly - wasn't good enough to do it without cheating.

So - four golds and a silver now. The GTR V-spec '09 setting is good enough to get me silver but can't get gold to save my life. Am going to try out the GT-R V-spec(r32) 94 setup recommended here.

Then it's on to the second series of bonus races. I think it's safe to assume I won't be winning the Time Trial or drift championships.

Here is my tune for GT-R race, I'll edit and add the parts later...

Downforce: 22
Tranny: 168 top speed
Torque Diff: 20 / 80
Suspension:
-20 / -20
15.2 / 11.0
7 / 7
4 / 4
7 / 7
Wheel alignment:
2.4 / 1.2
.14 / -.10
Brakes: 8 / 10

The car handles more like an FR now as the dreaded 4WD understeer is gone.

I'll upload my other tunes, but I don't think I did much to the CR-Z and RX-7, the Fiat on the other hand took some serious work.

I used the GT-R specV '09.

All weight loss parts fitted and Aero parts, with Aero set at max (2/22)

A Sports Intake Manifold and a Sports Air Filter took it to 492 BHP (NO oil change).

Fully Custom Transmission set at 180 mph (6th gear is at 0.932 for kph users)

I then used the tune as mentioned before (LDP GTR Spec X Predator Edition) which is as follows:

All Drivetrain upgrades, with LSD as:
Initial Torque 5/13
Acceleration 20/45
Braking 10/20

and Torque Distribution at 25/75.

Suspension:
Ride Height -20/-20
Springs 15.2/10.0
Dampers Ext 6/6
Dampers Com 6/6
Anti-roll 4/4

Wheels:
Camber (-) 2.2/1.5
Toe Angle 0.18/-0.10

Brakes: 6/5

I could consistently get 2nd/3rd but was struggling to get the power down smoothly enough (DS3) and was 13 or so seconds off the pace. This tune helped a lot. After a couple of races learning how the tune affected performance I took the Ford GT at the small S just before the hill on the last lap and won by a second.

For the RX-7 race I set Ride Height at lowest, springs 8.8/8.8 , transmission at 143 mph (1.023 6th gear), Aero to max (0/20) and fitted a catalytic converter. All other settings were stock, and took time to learn where to pass cars and where I could push. Not easy on the comfort softs!

Hi m8. I got GT5 for crimbo and saw these specal event races and noticed they were dated, so i decided to see if i could complete some of them.

This poxy Nissan race has been doin my head in. Ive bought 2 different Skylines and modded them to 492bhp and 489bhp and could only manage a measly 6th place.
After trying out your specs above, in my first attempt ive managed 2nd. My bad b'coz i forgot to alter the gear ratio :).
Any way, just wanna thank you for these settings. Id never have gotten very far without them. Just out of curiosity, how the hell do you work it all out?.

Update:Finally won this 12 hours later beating the ford by 2.584secs. I changed the gear ratio to 184mph

That GT-R event was one very fun race.

My best was 2nd on this for a few days, and i kept going back to it.
Just got gold earlier, beating lead AI by about 2.4 sec ;) got 7:21.250 over all.

I tried two different builds for this, one from a '02 skyline already owned, heavily tuned/tweaked. Then i decided to try a newer year model and start fresh, so I went with the '09.

I did tweak values a little, but honestly i feel i barely touched it to get what i needed out of it. just slightly lowered and stiffened up a bit. It really just took committing to a few blind turns and really sticking a good line through out the course.

Here's what i used.

DFGT (FFB 10,No Assist)
Default ABS 1, no traction or any assist
Manual Shifter

GT-R SpecV '09
492HP / 1362kg

Mods to get HP/Weight/Tire restrictions met:
- ! No oil change or break in !
- Weight Reduction Stage 3
- Window Reduction
- Carbon Hood
- Sports Exhaust Manifold
- Sports Air Filter
- Sport Soft Tires

Aero Kits (I got really for looks.. ha!)
Full Type A across the board, Front,Rear,Ext,Wing

Downforce: Default
Drivetrain: Default
Transmission: Default
Brakes: Default

Full Suspension
- Ride Height: -15 / -10
- Spring Rate: 16.2 / 12.8
- Dampers Ext/Comp: Default
- Roll Bars: 3/6
- Camber: Default
- Toe: 0.10 Rear

Then i drove, drove that GT-R like i never had before.. came up 2 sec under first place on 1st attempt, nailed it on the 2nd attempt.

Happy racing!

What is up with everybody needing a setup for these races?

I completeted them easily by just fitting Racing Clutch and Semi-Flyweel and suspension to the base car, not even touching the settings menu and won them all easily :D?

Fiat 500 by subliminalglory, on Flickr

Fiat Settings that I used
Car Settings
CF Hood
Aero Kit - Rear - +15
FC Tranny - 87 Top Speed
Twin-Plate Clutch
Semi-Racing Flywheel
Sports intake
Adj LSD - 40/60/5
Fully Adj Suspension
Ride Height - -20/-20
Spring Rate - 15.0/2.0
Dampers(E) - 1/4
Dampers(C) - 1/4
Anti-Roll - 3/3
Camber - 3.4/4.0
Toe Angle - 0.40/0.60
Brakes - 5/5

this worked great for me, got it on my third try after not having any luck for a week. thanks bro :dopey:

a sidenote for anyone else doing this, you can cut the second to last corner to gain a little time/smash first place.

Just used subliminalglory's settings to win the Fiat 500 race on my 5th try. On my 4th try I even got the Human Stopwatch trophy. The only difference is I didn't add the aero kit, and I used the window lightening to bring the weight down to 1000kg even, instead of the CF hood which puts it at 1005. I also didn't add any fancy wheels or paint. Just straight business!
