I have found a way to fix your cds without buying those annoying 50 dollar cleaning spinning fans..... This sounds crazy but its completely safe.. and it makes ur cd smell minty, or it could smell like a dead rat

1- Get your scratched cd

2- Spit on the cd, only the watery spit that you have, not the thick, slimy one

3- TOILET PAPER! its the most gentlest material available to man, it is REQUIRED that you use this kind of paper..

4- Your CD should be DRIED UP and smelling like ur breath.

5- Stick it in ur PS2.. If it dont work, dont bug me

Using a nice terry cloth, a towel, fleece, or a soft shirt is better than toilet paper as Toilet paper can scratch your discs even more. Come to think of It none of my discs have any scratches lol since Im so afraid of ruining something...

I'm not too sure about this method. :odd:
Me neither. And I wouldn't put toilet paper anywhere near my discs. A little bit of detergent with some hot water and use noting but your hands (assuming you're not a lumber or coal miner that is) and a piece of soft cloth to dry it with...

I'll stick to using my disc-cleaner, thanks.
If you don't remove the disc in the first place then there's is no spoon (or problem if you like :D )

After all - We're serious about GT3 aren't we ?

I think this might be appropriate here :

Toilet paper and kitchen paper contains small traces of wood that WILL scratch your discs. Please consider this !

/F

Does Toilet Paper really have that? Even the softest paper?

Yes....

Edit: Try this... Take an unscratched cdcover and try 2ez2kills method and you'll see that where you polished it it'll turn slightly dull (this being the opposite of shiny right ? )

But it's probably only small molecules...i thought only motel toilet paper had wood in it ;)

Yes - paper is made out of wood. That's why you should use a handkerchief when you have a cold, and not tissues - easier on the old nose...

Ive read this somewhere, it sounds weird :odd: But for some reason people have been saying they work wonders. Ever heard about the toothpaste thing?

1. Put a light amount of toothpaste on your scratched CD and clean it with any good, clean cloth. It will be as fresh as new. I've never tried this myself. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I guarantee you this method works. heheh its better than buying those xpensive cleaners. and another thng! WAIT 2 HOURS AFTER you eat or u will get food on it;)

1 more reason this method works is the Top side of the cd has the data on it.. its like tape.. the shine part is not actually the bottom of the sticker on top.. so if u scratch the bottom part, and then u spit on it to fix it, its not gonna get on your data since the bottom is only a cover.. dont belive me? scratch the top of a blank cd with a pen real hard. the silver stuff will come off

Tried that, didn't work. The Disc Doctor does work, however. 👍

For cleaning, get one of these:

I have an older version that works wonderfully.

Ok, first off, it is true...

Do not use toliet paper...

Find something designed to not scratch objects like the bag for your oakley's. (if anyone wears those anymore)

Or just use some of the other stuff mentioned here...

But that is not why I replied.

My point is about the technique used...

You can not try to clean the disc in a circular motion, you must use strokes that go from the center to the outside of the disc in a straight line.

I learned this from a cd cleaner kit which came with a cloth and a fluid for you to do it manually.

Just make sure you have a good cloth to use that is designed not to scratch gentle surfaces...

I attached this really simple image to show you the technique Im talking about.

Yeah. I bought this cheap eye glass repair kit for a dollar. It has a very soft and gental piece of cloth for cleaning the lense of your glasses. I use that to clean me discs, doesnt leave a scratch. BTW, I dont wear glasses :P...

Oh yeh  Toilet Paper must be made out of wood....heh.

I'd rather just get a disc doctor thing, but i've never been in that situation before, because I take good care of my discs. :D

See.. That's the kind of thing that creates unemployment.. If everybody did that and handled their discs with a little sense, where would the companys making Disc Doctor, Skip Doctor and God knows what else be ?.. You gotta start roughing up those discs my friend. Get the economy started :D

 I can see the ad now...

"Help out your country, and take poor care of your discs!!! Disc Doctor is our number 1 export, and continued production will require lots of sales...so encourage scratching of discs...and remember, scratch if you care...;)"

Or maybe lots of cds just left on the floor, with lots of scratches on them...and a thing saying HELP the ECONOMY!!! on the bottom.
