I'm going to go with any of the American cars here. As incredible as the Hyundai swap is, there's too many Asian cars in GT already.
Yea But they are japanese, I know there were Hyundai in GT4 but only a sprinkle, I think it's about time for the koreans to shine,And i know kaz has some what been aware of the success of the genesis coupe and hyundai.
Hell, just look at turn 10, the genesis is posted all over there game lol. and now theres a DLC hyundai content coming, I hope Kaz took notice of that.
I Mean i really want this RM40 in the game...

Also kaz should also take note that instead of it being a Different maker V8, it's built Straight from Hyundai, That alone is very impressive.

I think the hyundai gen coupe is a heap of ****, but I must give credit where it's due. That mid engine swap is very well done.

How is "that alone" very impressive? So many swaps are same-make it's silly. The myriad Honda/Nissan/Chevy swaps out there see to that.

What's impressive to me is that they've really worked on getting the engine as low as possible. That's always the hard part with conversions like this; a del Sol MR change from years ago placed it high, and the Clio V6 MKI suffered from all the weight being so high too. Actually; can't think of too many MR swaps that didn't start with front-drivers.

Without venturing wholly off-topic and over to the OR, why do you go to the extreme of it being a heap?

I believe its Impressive because its a V8 Completely developed by Hyundai, and v8 arent their playground and look how it results, they got an awesome V8:tup:

so what you see there is 2x Epic Win, see an underrated Korean car maker does an awesome Sports car for everyone, that looks good and has a good price, and you see in that sports car the V8 of their new and Succesful luxury sedan....:dopey::dopey::dopey:

How the hell!? that Hyundai sounds pretty damn nice. Seen a few of these whilst I was in the USA in 2008, but never heard them until I just watched that Youtube video. Sorry to go off topic there.

But about that orange thing in the pics, Is that really a Hyundai? That's a damn good effort from a car company you usually think of as.. well there's no other way of saying it but, crap. That car needs to be in GT5. I must know what that is like to drive.

If anyone has specs for that please post them up. Looks pretty powerful to me.

Yikes I forgot about that Hyundai. That's a pretty serious candidate. I'm not a fan of Hyundai at all, but that thing is interesting.

👍

I mean come on, Hyundai coming out of no where, Makes a successful sport's car. Then makes a handsome luxury sedan, Makes their first made from scratch tau V8, Engine wins top 10 engine awards, Squeezed 380 hp from a 4.6 liter. And Hyundai also said there working on a supercharged 4.6 and a 5.0 liter v8. They have the money to do this now, Seem's like there trying to go up against the "M"'s and AMG's... Because a supercharged tau 4.6 would probably make 500 hp. with no tuning.

That's why it's impressive.

The HPE700. Its a new Camaro with a LS9 swapped in. Unless engine swaps are in the game and then leave it out and put something else in. Ill make my own.

I hope cars like the RMR Genesis (Which gets my vote to be in GT5) open PD up to the possibility of complex drivetrain conversions within the final game.

Where are the final cars?

btw, this vette is awsm

As part of the annual SEMA Convention in Las Vegas, the Gran Turismo Awards recognize the best vehicles shown at SEMA in five different categories. The culmination of the awards is the Best in Show vehicle, which is personally selected from the category winners by none other than Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi and announced at the highly anticipated Gran Turismo Awards ceremony. The winning Best in Show vehicle will join a prestigious group of previous winners that have been enshrined in digital form in the world’s best driving simulator as a playable vehicle in a future Gran Turismo release. I don't think we're going to get any of that...

I don't think we're going to get any of that...
With past sema's they have always showed videos of people playing Granturismo 5, i think they will still continue to do that this year.

A way to, Descover new never before seen cars. And See the new damage system as well.

Ide really like to hear what that JR rocha G37 or HPA TT sounds like.

I think the hyundai gen coupe is a heap of ****, but I must give credit where it's due. That mid engine swap is very well done.

No wonder you drive a Gizzer35 :scared:

Back on topic.

Rhys' RM460 develops around 500hp thanks to new higher compression pistons (11:1) and individual throttle boddies and a revamped exhaust system (quite obviously..). That's all out of a 4.6l V8. Quite am impressive feat considering BMW's M3 GTS 4.4l V8 pushes 445hp!

The car's weight distribution is also said to be ideal, the front body panels were not replaced by CF exactly for this reason.

A true indicator of Hyundai's recent improvement and continueous progression in the industry. I simply cannot wait for Genesis "special" models. Take it to the Germans!

Hyundai had V8's well before the Genesis, that was just the first time North America saw one. The sedan was made first, not the other way around. 380hp from 4.6L is hardly headline-worthy; the LS460 manages the exact same numbers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the Genesis and especially the RMR version, and Hyundai has been nothing but impressive the past few years, but the Coupe really is the Korean Z; it's an old-school sports car, sticking to tried-and-true mechanicals that aren't cutting-edge, but succeed in getting the job done with a good dose of fun and value.

(even more O/T: Ward's has fallen off lately. I still don't get why Toyota and Honda's V6's are present on the list when they're so similar. You'd think the VQ would outrank them. Not to mention inferior to GM's high-content V6 anyways)
