Interesting sponsors .. Vorsteiner makes body-kits for BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Landrover and Porsche. And they have a collection of 11 wheels.

So what will the Corvette lose to tonight?
Best Asian import?
Best European import?
Best Hot Rod?
Best(what was the 4th category again?)?

These are the categories other than people's choice.

1) best truck/suv
2) best hot rod
3) best american car
4) best european car
5) best asian car

"Thanks to everyone who voted for their favorite car at SEMA. Polling officially ended at 1 p.m. and we appreciate the continued support."

Damn....i think that damn baby blue Vette won  :banghead:

well ************
Great.

Next year they need to think this through quite a bit better. The fact that only 1500 people managed to vote is a joke. Hardly the People's choice if someone like me can't even vote before I get off of work.

I agree 1pm is way to early to be ending voting. It would be interesting to let the voting go on for a few days.

And RAYS makes rims... I hope this is a (big) sign of things to come.

As a Vette lover, even I don't like that color scheme. I, too, voted for the sexy yellow Pantera. At any rate, PD may have a strong relationship with Chevrolet, but this is a personal car; I doubt it'll win.

It seems as if i'm in a minority. Honestly I liked the paint on the Corvette, but all the extras they put on look awful.
The DeTomaso, though... 👍

I refuse to believe that KAZ would put that car in his game. It's ugly as sin.

DeTomaso and MK1 look really good on the other hand.

They tend to pick cars that have a story behind them. Don't know how much of a story that Vette would have.

As it stands, nothing much beyond "It caused a stir on a few online forums after winning a FB poll."

Certainly not enough to justify them picking it as the winner, but you never know... :P

I think both of them look like crap, so I hope whatever list the PD staff member chooses from has something much better so neither get in.

Riced out? The bodykit on the G37 is a whole lot more functional than that on the C7.

The PS3 in the backseat certainly isn't, so yes. I'd say riced out fits.

Well... it's difficult because I assume the car needs to make it to the show to be eligible. But I know, at least, from last year that the entries come a awhile in advance.

I think they should indeed put the cars in a week before and have everyone vote in the lead up to the show. But if any of those cars don't make it to the show, they're not eligible to win.

So my take on the cars. Some of you will disagree and I kinda expect it (especially given how according to some of you, there's apparently no such thing as a good looking car from SEMA). I'll start on the 15th Anniversary Corvette:

Clean yet aggressive and sleek. Its striking yet its not shouty and the exterior modifications are subtle. That shade of blue works well with this car and it actually compliments its subtle modifications. It exudes "all fast, no flash" (unlike another car). Overall, excellent 👍

Now onto the ones I've seen in this thread being voted on (at least I think):

Jonathan Ward's 1950 ICON Thriftmaster Pick Up
Well its an interesting twist with an electric bike in the trunk. Looks great though and clean. the finish is something I don't normally see on these sort of trucks when they're restored so that's abit unique.

Jeff Bronsten's 2014 Twin Turbo Wide Body Coyote
Can't really find anything that makes it stick out. Its not bad (no tacky rims or "mad bling yo" crap on it), but it just doesn't stick out to me.

Octavio "Topo" Villafana's 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray
After reading the posts and now finally seeing this, I absolutely agree that its hidious. It just reeks of immature, bling bling tackiness that far outshines any escalade. The Grille is horrid, it just terribly designed and it feels half-assed. The rims are horrible, not at all fit for a car like the corvette. The flare fenders is completely overboard. And the color itself is awful. This shade of blue works on certain cars and the Corvette its not one of them. Overall, its all bling, no speed.

Tommy 1959 Chevrolet Apache Vintage
This could've really went well if they hadn't thrown those horrid wheels on it. They honestly ruin what looked liked a nice and decent truck.

West Bend Dyno Tuning's 1981 pontiac Trans Am
A car that to me follows the same thinking the GM Designed Corvette does. Wheels appear to be the only visual mod I can see, but thankfully they don't overshadow the subtlety of the car.

FMS Automotive's 2011 Volkswagen Jetta
Another example of Subtle and not so over the top style. Not alot of things that make it stick out, but the fender flares and wheels are not overdone and add abit to an already handsome car.

Tommy's 2014 P58 Stingray Concept
While its not as hidious as Topo's Corvette, its just looks amatuer. Its not overly Gaudy, but its also just seems like another "look its a racecar!!" kit with the stereotypical F&F skinny Wing.

Kelly Fromm's 2013 Chevy Camaro ZL1
Not sure where to start on this pitiful thing. Only thing I can give credit for is the the murals in the "Murica" paint job. Other then that, its tacky beyond mercy. Its like someone didn't know if they wanted to cater to the gangsta crowd or the tasteless ricer crowd. Its terrible in everything, from its wheels to that cadillac grille and Chrome headlights. Its pretty much a dead tie between this and the Corvette.

Keith Strong's Focus
Abit loud when looking at the graphics on it (along with the wheels), but its actually not bad. Also appears abit setup as a Rally car, which tells me its as much show as it is go. Overall, its not bad.

Kelly Fromm's 2012 Chevy Silverado 3500HD
Thankfully none of the tackiness from the Camaro can be found on this so its improvement already. At the same time though, it follows a rather bland fad of a lifted truck with a Bumper bar, roof racks, blackened grille, Black Wheels and a matte black finish. Its played out and just laguhably not worth having a second look.

Philip Chase's 2013 Lexus IS340
Tasteful and surprisingly not overly ricey. Apart from the slapped Decals on the sides, its actually worth the look and the body kit is not over the top either.

Dave Doetsch's 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
While I see the same recurring theme from the silverado, the finish is actually different so it saves itself from falling into that pile of mediocrity.

Plum Floored Creations 2012 Dodge Charger
Never really liked this model Charger stock form so this does nothing for me. Just doesn't have anything about it that captures my attention.

Forge Motorsport's 1982 VW Gold MK1
Admittingly I do have a slight bias towards track oriented cars so I kinda do look at this with a different eye then the others. It reminds alot of a Pikes Peak car or an old school Hill Climb Car. Nothing but praise from me on a car that actually works and can perform. The Livery also seems classy too.

Ringbrothers 1971 DeTomaso Pantera
I can definately see why people want this to win. Its an excellent modern styling take on a classic and does the original some very decent justice with its lines.

Jonathan Garcia's 2013 Ford Focus ST
The second Focus I've seen and it too is worth looking at. While it doesn't sport a loud graphic like the other does, its does as good a job at not being overly Gaudy and it appears to also be a car that goes as well as it looks.

Vossen's 2014 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport
I'd rate it up there with the first car as something that also isn't gaudy (even if its color is abit louder). Wheels look neat and do stick out abit more (as well as the front bumper). Overall, another clean design.

We all ask for more influence on what cars get in the game, and yet when the opportunity arises it never works out as the general public who don't know the cars beyond 'ooh that's a corvette' end up being the majority of the votes! Kind of ironic I guess...

That is irony at its finest.

I thought the Cossie Focus ST was pretty good. A lot nicer than many of the others in that poll.

That said, I would have given my vote to the Forge MK1 Golf if I had a Facebook account. Hilarity would ensue if that thing made it into GT, plus it had more going for it history-wise than a wide body Vette that was only built in the past few months.

Keep in mine a lot of cars at SEMA are slapped with stickers just for the show.
